The Face Shop Calendula Essential Moisture Cream Review

I’m a sucker for The Face Shop Calendula Essential Range. With a face full of scratch marks left by my toddler, and calendula being packed with healing properties, my skin and the Calendula range are made for each other. I received The Face Shop Calendula Essential Serum as a PR last year and it did miracle to my skin. The deep, stubborn scratch marks were gone. I tried The Face Shop Calendula Essential Moisture Eye Cream next. And it turned out to be an epic failure for me with its light texture. And when I needed a moisturizer, I decided to give The Face Shop Calendula Essential Moisture Cream a try.

The moisturizer comes in a frosty jar like the rest of the products from the range. It came with a spatula, but somehow my toddler got his hands on it. And the rest is history.

Texture:

The texture of the moisturizer is nothing sort of dream. It’s perfect for the summer and it’s perfect for the winter. I have normal skin and I sweat like crazy during the summer. Only a few moisturizers feel light on my skin during the summer and it’s one of those few. It hydrates my skin without making it feel greasy or sweaty. During winter my skin tends to get very dry. And I have been using Salicylic acid so it’s been even drier.

The Face Shop Calendula Essential Moisture Cream keeps my skin hydrated even during the harsh winter. Can you imagine, one single moisturizer working in both extreme weather? Hydrating the skin to perfection without greasiness or dryness?

Texture-wise it made it to my list of top favourite moisturizers. Texture-wise I’ll give it a 5/5 rating any day.

The Face Shop Calendula Essential Moisture Cream Vs The Face Shop Calendula Essential Serum:

Despite its perfect texture, it has its flaws. I wanted to try the cream in the first place because the serum from the same range healed my scratch marks like a boss. The cream, however, did nothing to the new marks that I’ve got. In fact, I got 3 more while I was actively using this cream. And still, this cream failed to heal them while they were fresh.

Final Verdict:

It did not serve that one purpose I bought it for. But in the process, I did find the perfect moisturizer for both summer and winter. It might not work for me as a healing cream like the serum did. But as a moisturizer, it turned out to be perfect. So I’ll keep using this cream while I try and find a different product to heal my scars, mainly serums.

So if you are in search of the perfect cream, you can give this one a try. But in case you want to get rid of acne or scratch scars, I’ll suggest the serum instead.
