As Anita Nair of the authors of the book says “The unassailable truth was that he chose me and even in that first moment, we signed a pact to love each other till death do us part.” She perfectly narrates the moment her furry friends chose her as their human. After grieving her four-legged child for 5 years, she finally decides that she is ready to become a dog parent again. She meets her friend Leela to pick up a Chippiparai pup Mr.Darcy. But Heathcliff, Darcy’s sibling, chose her as her human too! And that’s the moment she realizes that she has room for not just one dog child in her life, but two!. ‘When you tell the universe your innermost desire, the universe makes it happen. It may take time to evolve but when it does happen, the soul raises itself on winged feet and nothing is ever the same again”.

The classic Darcy and Heathcliff are then named Sunderapandi and Nachimuthu taking a cue from their heritages.

The Book Of Dog documents forty-four more such accounts of the bond between dogs and their humans. It’s a series of 45 unforgettable real-life stories- poignant, funny, warm, and joyous. In this book, the authors celebrate the remarkable dogs that have touched their lives.
