Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask- Tea Tree Review + GIVEAWAY Announcement

Hello everybody, today I’m going to review the Innisfree It’s Real Tea Tree Mask Sheet. So I have talked about how I tend to break out while PMSing and I am overjoyed to tell you guys that I have finally figured a way out. The way out is actually making some changes in my skincare routine during that time of the month which I’m going to share with you guys soon.

So a little heads up, including a healing sheet mask AKA Tea Tree Sheet Mask is one of those changes. Tea Tree oil has been widely known to treat acnes and I have earlier been too impressed with Tonymoly Im Real Tea Tree Face Mask. So just when I noticed that I’m breaking out a little around my lip area and one in the forehead I checked if it’s that time already. These little predictions of mine are too accurate that even though they get a little annoying sometimes, I have learnt how to use these predictions to treat my PMS breakout. So I noticed these tiny pimples during my night time regimen and I knew that it will only grow in the following days like always. Without making any delay I exfoliated my skin, since it will make the serum in the mask easier to absorb. I threw the mask on my face after toning and lay on my bed for about 30 minutes.

The essence was almost transparent and even though there was enough essence on the cotton mask, it wasn’t drippy. The fitting of the mask was not as good as the other masks from the range. It wrinkled up around my nose area making my sheet mask selfie too horrible to upload. Usually my sheet masks dry within 30- 35 minutes but it didn’t. However, I removed it in 30 minutes and noticed a visibly clear skin. The tiny pimples were shrunked and by the next morning they disappeared. Now since I applied it just when my skin started suffering from the oil breakout I can’t really tell how it will work on mature cystic acnes. But the result I noticed was impressive enough. I finished it off with a sleeping pack and unlike any other sheet mask it didn’t make my skin too hydrated the following days. I have heard that tea tree oil makes skin a bit dry and I can’t really tell if that’s true. But my skin was neither dried, nor too moisturized. Also my skin tone didn’t get brightened the way it usually does following sheet masking. I guess I should just be happy with the clear skin.

So will I be purchasing it again? I might as well be using one each month.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who suffers from acne or wants something to heal their skin once in a while.

The Nature’s Co Kiwi Hand & Nail Cream Review

Hand creams are very essential for me during the cold weather since my hands tend to get darker during that time. Long before I was a conscious beauty addict I couldn’t figure out a remedy and used to hate how my hands and fingers looked during the winter. Since the past 3-4 years I started using hand and nail creams and have noticed that it actually helps.

So today I’m going to review one of my favourite Hand and Nail creams that I have been using since the last to last winter- The Nature’s Co Kiwi Hand & Nail Cream.

Price: INR 445 for 125ml

Ingredients:  Kiwi extract, Shea butter, Kokum butter, Olive oil, Wheat germ oil, Apricot kernel oil, Sweet almond oil, Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin – E, Coconut oil, Grape seed oil, Vegetable Glycerin.

My Experience:

As I said I have been using this cream since last to last winter, and have been really loving it. I actually use it every day post showering without fail, and I mean to use it before going to bed but I often tend to forget about it. And am amazed to think that if this cream makes my hands soft and supple and prevent dry cuticles and darker skin with only one time application, how much softer my hands would be with proper usage? Worth thinking, and worth putting it next to my pillow so that I don’t forget to apply it before going to bed.

The cream comes in a plastic tube with a flip cap and the texture of the cream is a bit too thick. Only a pea sized amount is required to massage both hands and wrists. However, when I do remember using it before going to bed, I like using a bit more product which makes the hands a bit greasy but since it’s bedtime I don’t really mind.

With a year of usage I have actually forgot what dry cuticles and dark hand feels like. My hands are soft and supple and am really looking forward to the day I won’t be forgetting to apply it before my bedtime anymore.

Will I recommend it?

I will recommend it to anyone who suffers from dry cuticles or dry hands in general.

  • Makes hands soft and supple
  • Prevents dry cuticles
  • Prevents hands to turn darker during the chilly weather
  • Smells pleasant
  • Absorbs with light massaging if using in the right amount.

  • The only con that I found with this one is that the tube is too bulky. I guess it can be available in smaller size with their beauty wish box but the full sized amount is so not travel friendly. It would not make a mess inside your bag but who would want to carry this big of a tube just for two tiny palms? Not me. Also, since I don’t share it with anybody else, I doubt I would be able to finish the product before the expiry date. And not everybody would like to pay a whooping 445 Rs for a hand cream, which brings me back to the one and only con, with a smaller size available, all of this issues would have been fixed once and for all.

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Sleeping Pack In Aloe & Bija Review

This is probably my first sleeping pack review since I couldn’t get around to review the last two sleeping packs. I purchased them while on a trip and used them up before I got to click the pictures. Apologies for that, I’m going to order them once again and surely gonna review them this time, I promise.

So… What Is A Sleeping Pack/Sleeping Mask?

Sleeping pack is one of the hypes from Korean Beauty Market. There’s a lot of sleeping masks out there in the market targeting different treatments. There’s sleeping packs claiming brightening, there’s sleeping packs claiming anti-aging, and there’s sleeping packs claiming treatment to troubled skin. And whether they are any good or not, depends totally on the specific mask.

My initial idea of sleeping packs is that they are a bit more potential than regular night creams and the two that I’ve already used are a bit heavier and a bit stickier than night creams. But that didn’t bother me at all, in fact I loved it. And then again, usually sleeping packs are meant to use twice a week, so I think of it more like a twice a week treatment. And lastly apart from delivering the claims, the previous sleeping masks used to give me super plump skin the following few days, so yes, I love the concept of sleeping masks.

Innisfree Capsule Recipe : Aloe & Bija

What it is

  1. Skin trouble and soothing care with bija and aloe ingredients (Containing 100ppm of bija oil, 1,000ppm of aloe vera leaf juice extract and 1,000 ppm of aloe vera leaf extract)2. A texture that absorbs into the skin freshly and moistly

    3. A sleeping pack that softly absorbs into the skin

How to use

Apply the desired amount and gently spread onto the face at the cream step. Leave on overnight and wash it off next morning.

My Experience:

[Picture taken after 3 usages]

As you can see, it’s actually a gel, a sleeping gel. Initially it feels a little sticky on the skin but with light massage it absorbs into the skin amazingly. I had the idea that sleeping packs are usually heavy on the skin, but this one was super light and I guess that makes it a perfect choice for oily skin beauties. At first I was a bit sceptical about what to expect from such a lightweight gel, but then I discovered its soothing power. I have a combination skin that doesn’t breakout except for that time of the month *touchwood.  So when I got a couple of bumps, I discovered that this sleeping pack actually helps sooth my irritated skin. I know, I just told that sleeping packs are usually used twice a week, but since it didn’t have any particular instructions like that, and because its lightweight I used it a little more frequently than twice a week and I got impressive results. Within two days of usage (at one day interval) my skin was visibly clear, calm and the oil breakout actually vanished. I guess I should be stocking it up for that time of the month.

Will I purchase it again?

Will I recommend it?

Oily Skin beauties- definitely

Combination skin beauties- You can try one out and decide for yourself if it works for you [Reminder: I myself have a combination skin]

Dry skin beauties- You are definitely not going to like it unless you breakout during that time of the month like me. If you do, then you can give it a try

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack: Seaweed Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Innisfree Seaweed Capsule Recipe pack. Now if you are not aware of the capsule recipe packs, they are tiny little packs from Innisfree that comes in two catagories- wash off masks and sleeping packs. Sometimes the capsule packs are the tinier versions of some full sized products (i.e- the Jeju Volcano capsule recipe Pack) and those works as great sample packs.

When I visited the Innisfree Store in Delhi exactly an year ago, I picked up three capsule recipe packs- a wash off one ( Jeju Volcano)and two Sleep Packs (Rice and Pomegranate)  . Back then, these capsule packs had no hard lids which made them really hard to save. While the brand says that they can be used 3 times, in reality they can be used 5-6 times. However, since I was travelling a lot back then, I couldn’t save any of them past 3 usages. The wash off mask turned hard as rock while the sleeping packs became too thick to apply thus I ended up with a lot of wasted products. So when I did another haul online, I ordered one wash off mask and one sleeping pack and I was really excited to see the revamped look of the capsule packs. They have done a pretty good job with them, putting another hard lid over the foil-like lid, adding layers of instructions (the ones that sadly differs from the official website) making them a lot easier to save and making them my best buddies while travelling. You guys know how I love packing sample and trial sized products for tours right?

Getting back to the review…

As I just mentioned, the instruction at the back differs from that of the official website.

The Official Website Says:

How to use

  1. After washing your face, spread and massage the mask evenly on your face. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water after 10-15 minutes. Massaging will relieve your facial muscles for more comfortable looks. Choose the capsule that best suits your skin.
    2. Insert the lid into the slit of the container and close it to keep it fresh for your next use.

While you can clearly see that the instruction at the back of the pack has no mentions of massaging. And I don’t think that the micro granules are going to work without the massaging, like really, the pack is meant to exfoliate.

What it is

A capsule recipe pack containing seaweed to improve your complexion
1. Heat your skin naturally with seaweed!
2. Exfoliate dead skin cells for clean skin.
3. Enriched sizzling formation provides skin solutions.
4. A massage pack containing seaweed to heat and exfoliate your skin

Just dab it on! Jeju seaweed with wrinkle- smoothing properties

The regenerative properties of ocean plants, rich in minerals and nutrients from Jeju island, promote skin vitality

and enhances its natural self-defense system for a powerful anti-aging effect.

MRP 150/- Rs

My Experience:

As you can see, the manual at the back of the product forgot to mention that the product is going to heat up while applying, so when I first applied the mask I was like ‘Oh my goodness! This pack heats up while coming in contact with my skin’! I was ecstatic. I might have freaked out as well, but having being a Korean Skincare Junkie for over 2 years, I have seen (and used a lot). I have used gel exfoliator that bubbles up on the face while coming in contact with water, I have used oil that turns into a white liquid and washes off while coming in contact with water, I have seen Korean Skincare products do miracle, so quite obviously I didn’t freak out. I felt the pack pleasantly heating up, more like warming up on my skin. But since the instruction failed to mention the massaging part, I didn’t. I used it as a regular pack, massaging only a little right before washing it off just like I do with any other wash off masks.

The initial effect was refreshing, like too refreshing. My skin felt squeaky clean and fresh. But there was no brightening effect and the product didn’t claim any.

According to the official website, it has got anti-aging properties. I am 27 with no aging signs *touchwood, so I really can’t tell how well it worked according to the claims. But even then, I like including anti-aging products in my regimen every once in a while and really planning on incorporating some for the long run since I believe in taking precaution before the damage is already done.

Final Verdict:

So far there’s not a single Innisfree Product that didn’t work on my skin. And I’m really impressed with the revamped look of the packs. You can easily save the products and carry them while travelling.

However the instructions are really misleading. Firstly because the mask has just one job – exfoliating (which it does really well since my skin got exfoliated even when I used it before reading the right instructions), and without proper massaging, the pack is quite useless. Secondly, over exfoliation is really bad for the skin, it can cause more melanin secretion resulting in a darker skin and can even damage the skin. So a person unaware that it is actually an exfoliation pack can use it a day after using another exfoliator, which actually happened to, I used it a day after using my Goodal Phytowash exfoliator and the dark skin lasted for a few days. So misleading instructions can really cause a lot of trouble, and I suppose it happened right here in India (I apologize if am wrong).

However, with proper instructions, this pack can make a hell one of an exfoliator and now that you have read the right instructions, I think you really should go for this one. The micro-fiber beads are excellent for exfoliation and I don’t think they are capable of doing any damage that over exfoliation and bigger beads can do and I really liked the heating up experience. Plus, the pack smells yummy.

  • Does what it claims
  • Pocket Friendly
  • The kind of product that I will pack while travelling
  • Can be used 5-6 times
  • Smells pleasant
  • Didn’t break me out

I don’t think that Innisfree is at the fault for the misleading instruction. But overall it really is a con.

BioBloom Lavender Hand & Body Lotion Review

Hello everybody, today I’m going to review the recently launched Bio Bloom Hand & Body Lotion Lavender because it’s still winter and we all need to take extra care of our skin.

Bio Bloom is an all organic brand free from chemicals and most importantly Parabens and Artificial Fragrance. I have used their Eucalyptus Foot Cream and I’m already in love. The Hand & Body lotion didn’t disappoint as well. It comes in two sizes- 50 ml, and 100 ml and I am going to review the smaller one which is really very easy to carry and will fit in your smallest handbag.

The bottle comes with a spray nozzle and it cannot get any more hygienic than that. However, I’m not very impressed with the runny texture. Obviously it requires a lot more amount to be applied than any body milk with a thicker consistency. So I ended up finishing the bottle within 3-4 weeks (thus perfect for packing for long tours) and since it comes for 199 bucks am not sure how many people will drop that amount for a bottle that will last them hardly one month.

Coming back to the brighter side, the lotion absorbs into the skin super quickly with light massaging and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Now even though my skin doesn’t get dry by the end of the day as I have a combination skin, I am pretty sure dry skin beauties will need to reapply it within 6-7 hours. So I guess this can be a perfect choice for oily skin beauties and also a pretty good choice for summertime. Yes, I am the type of person who loves to apply body lotions (light weight ones) even during the summer as I love my skin hydrated.

Price : INR 199/-

Quantity : 50 ml

Shelf life : 24 months from MFG

Overall Verdict:

I know I just said that am not sure how many people will drop 199 bucks for a body lotion that will last for about 1 month, but looking at the ingredient list, I might admit that it’s worth paying. However, I would not suggest dry skin beauties to purchase this one for the winter.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Lime Review

Hello everybody, hope you guys are doing fine. Today I’m going to review the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Lime because Innisfree launched in Nykaa last month and I just cannot stop myself.

I guess everybody is aware of the skincare benefits of lemons and limes. They brighten up dull skin and when it comes to removing tans, nothing can compete with them. They are called natural bleach. Unfortunately, applying them directly on the skin can be really harsh. I will say ‘don’t do it, just don’t. When it comes to DIY de-tan mask I usually use tomato juice for direct application, and when the tan seems way too stubborn I mix as little as one drop of lemon juice into my mask, but still I won’t recommend it as just because it suits my skin, doesn’t mean it will suit yours. Thankfully they are still applicable, thanks to the professionally formulated skincare products.

Ever since I came back from Andaman, my lookout for brightening products has turned into a craze even after I have successfully removed my tans. After the Vita C mask from Innisfree, this lime mask was next in the queue and I had high hopes. And why not? I mean it contains potential ingredients as Niacinamide and Grapefruit Extract, and Lime Extract and Green Tea Extract and many other ingredients that are known for brightening and skin firming and recovering dry and damaged skin. Why wouldn’t someone have high hopes on it?

However, it did disappoint me when it comes to the brightening effect. Everything else about this mask is super cool. It fits well, it’s drenched in enough serum, it takes as long as 40 minutes to dry out, it smells pleasant and most importantly my skin was visibly clear and hydrated. But since it screams brightening, it was a little disappointment comparing to the Vita C Mask Sheet. So if you are looking for a real brightening mask, you know which one to choose, and if you are purchasing it as a pack of all the sheet masks that comes from the range and applying it for the sake of sheet masking, I don’t think you will be disappointed. And for the plus effect, it did firm my skin; I guess I might have to thank the presence Niancinamide for that.

Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, niacinamide, alcohol, betaine, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, citrus aurantifolia (lime) juice, xanthan gum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hyaluronate, citrus unshiu peel extract, orchid extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance

  • For a brightening mask, the effect is not that notable. Works like any other sheet mask (a good one).

Fuschia Detox Face Mask – Activated Charcoal Review

Hello everybody, hope you all had amazing New Year celebrations. My New Years have always been pretty laid back. Besides attending the midnight mass at the Church and spending quality time with my family and eating delicious home cooked meals, there’s nothing special. Oh and I didn’t work on New Year, that does count as a celebration, doesn’t it? But now let’s get back to the regular life with a bang. And since this is my first post from 2017, I decided to do what I’m best at doing, reviewing a skincare product. And that product happens to be the Detox Face Mask Activated Charcoal from Fuschia by Vkare.

Now Fuschia is a very beloved Indian brands. If I’m not wrong, they launched about 1 or 2 years ago and received too much love from Indian beauty addicts soon after their launch. The products are all chemical free, every single one of them does what they claims, and they are pocket friendly. I am personally so in love with the brand and have used about 6-7 products from their range and there isn’t one product that didn’t work for me. So let’s get to the review part.

When it comes to detoxification, nothing does the job better than activated charcoal. They act like a sponge and plucks out all the toxins from deep within the pores. I personally prefer keeping at least one product containing activated charcoal in my skincare regimen all the time. Everybody’s skin needs detoxification and there’s no excuse for depriving your skin of that much needed detoxification.

My Experience:

I have earlier used the Activated Bamboo Charcoal mask from Blossom Kochhar and I was so in love. I had to try the one from Fuschia as will since their products never disappoint. The texture of the mask is a little thick so I make sure to apply it on moist face. If I skip splashing some water over my face prior to applying the mask, it keeps sticking to my finger like a clot and then it dries up super fast. So using a little water does the trick- the mask applies smoothly, and takes about 15-20 minutes to dry up.

The first thing I noticed after washing off the mask is that my skin feels squeaky clean and looks visibly clear. I have been using it every once a week and it does a pretty good job every single time. I don’t have much acne breakout *touchwood, but there are some I get from time to time due to too much experimenting and of course during PMSing and the mask seems to help if applied while breaking out. Just like I said, there’s no excuse to deprive your skin of this kind of detoxification.

P.S:  Washing off this mask is as tough as washing off any other charcoal mask. If there’s no mirror in front of your sink, chances are that you might have to come back to the sink a couple of times.

Fuschia Berry Blend & Apricot Clarifying Intense Moisturizer Review

Note 1: Press Samples sent for review purpose but the opinions are completely honest.

Note 2: Everybody has their own preference but if you ask me, I would have to say that I love the Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic ABC pack a little bit more. And one of the main reasons is the texture, the ABC pack applies smoothly and takes about half an hour to dry, while the Fuschia one is super thick and dries a bit quickly. Now am pretty sure there’s people who loves their mask to work a little faster and they might like the Fuschia one better. As I just said, it all comes down to your personal preference.

Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist Review

Anyone following my blog knows that I am a devoted K-beauty obsessed. So it wasn’t fair that I didn’t try out the mist concept any earlier. It’s been said that it’s very likely to see Korean women occasionally spraying their face with mists in their office, in the public transport and literally everywhere. While I really hope that women across the world starts taking care of their skin as much they are invested on their makeup, I really wanted to be a trendsetter to those who does not (majority I guess). So in an attempt to be a trendsetter and bravely spray my face with a mist overlooking wide eyes, I carried my newly purchased Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist with me to the Metro Rail. I travelled a lot that day and my skin was too dry and it desperately cried out for the mist, BUT I could not! The thought of wide eyes staring at me scared the hell out of me. So I sat there with a dehydrated skin until my stop, and then as soon as I met my boy friend out the subway I bravely took out my mist in the middle of the road and sprayed it all over my face like my own hero. I couldn’t be more proud! And that was my first mist application in public, and am really looking forward to that day when indulging in a little skincare in the public will be as normal as applying the lipstick is.

So let’s get to the benefits of a mist. Mists are the lifesavers you can use whenever your skin feels dehydrated no matter wherever you are. I use it on the go, and in the house, when my skin feels dry but am not likely to apply a moisturizer just yet as it isn’t time for either my morning or my night time routine. And the best part is that they don’t mess up my makeup. And even if your skin is not feeling dry, the refreshing feeling that they provide are worth the staring from the strangers, you can take my word for it.

My Experience with Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist:

Since this is the first Mist that I’ve ever used, my experience with mists is basically my experience with Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist. I love how it refreshes my skin, and provides it with hydration without ruining my makeup. I’ve got the 50ml can which is pretty handy and the packaging looks cute. This is the only size available in Nykaa right now but there are other sizes as well.

How I use it:

Whenever my skin feels dry I place the can about 6 inches from my face and spray on forehead, cheek and chin keeping my eyes closed. I avoid patting the mist into my face and I guess not using your dirty hands is the point.

Astaberry Oxy Facial Kit Review

I’ve heard ravings about Oxy Facials and even though I’ve never tried one (as I usually go for the de-tanning Facial whenever I visit the Salon), I’ve seen the wonders that Oxy Face Masks can do. They are like instant brightening packs that change your skin tone in about 15 minutes.

I received Astaberry Oxy Facial Kit for review purpose and experimented it on my mother who never really reacted to any new products *touchwood. She came back from Andaman severely tanned just like me and we had a wedding to attend before even we could detan properly. So I used the Kit on her about an hour before we headed to the wedding, and the facial kit gave her such an amazing glow that skipping any makeup seemed to be the right thing to do.

The Facial kit comes with 4 mini tubes- Oxy Cleansing Gel, Oxy Scrub, Oxy Cream and Oxy Mask, that will last for about 3-4 facials and there’s a Face Wash inside the box that comes free with it.

Oxy Cleansing Gel:

A regular cleansing gel that I massaged all over her face and neck and then wiped off using a wet towel.

Oxy Scrub:

A white creamy scrub with tiny granules that won’t hurt your skin. I massaged it for a couple of minutes to avoid over-exfoliation and wiped it off with a wet towel again.

Oxy Cream:

A lightweight, white cream that I massaged on her face for 15 minutes and then wiped off the excess cream with the towel.

Oxy Mask:

A thick creamy white mask which I left on her face for like 10 minutes. It didn’t dry out completely, just like any other oxy masks. I wiped it off using the wet towel and finished it up with a toner and her regular night cream.

The instant effect was mind blowing. Her face was radiant and glowing and there were with no signs of tanning. The radiance and brightening effect lasted for about a week, but the de-tanning was permanent. I know it will work as amazing on me as my skin reacts well with Oxy Masks (I am just waiting for my PMS breakout to go away), so I will be using it on my own face soon.

Bio Bloom Foot Cream – Eucalyptus Review

A few weeks ago I broke down my winter skincare in parts. If you have read it, you’ll know that I take care of not only my face, but my whole body. I shared how I take care of my skin from head to toe, mostly during winters.  So here I am sharing my review of Bio Bloom Eucalyptus Foot Cream all the while sharing my toe care routine.

I might have scared you guys a little by mentioning ‘toe care routine’ but truth to be spoken- am really lucky to have never suffered from cracked heels * touchwood. So basically my foot care consists of only one step- Foot Cream.

I have repeatedly mentioned in my blog that I believe in prevention before the damage is done. Thus by Mid November every year, I start wearing socks indoors so that my heels don’t get dry or chapped. And by the end of November I make sure that am going to bed every night with my heals well moisturized.

I received the Bio Bloom Eucalyptus Foot Cream a few days back and have been using it since the day I got back from Andaman. My heels were a little dry (and a little rough) from all the travelling when I started using it. Within a couple of days my heels started getting softer and by a week my heels turned baby soft.

What I love the most about this Foot Cream is that it is completely chemical free and paraben free, and the texture is great as well. It’s neither to thick nor runny and absorbs into the skin without leaving any oily residue. Also very surprisingly I love the strong Eucalyptus smell. I use it after showering and before going to bed and am not stopping until its spring again.

Now, the whole review was from the point of view of a person who has never suffered from a cracked heel, but if you are someone who does, I would suggest not waiting until your heels are cracked, and start taking care of your heels right away. Trust me; it takes a lot less effort to prevent it before the damage is done.

Price/- M.R.P: 499/- for 75ml

  • Does what it claims
  • Contains all natural ingredients

Nothing  except for the price. However, given to the fact that its paraben free and it will probably last 2 winters (even has a 24 months of shelf life), I think it’s reasonable.

Oshea Sheasoft Fairness Nourishing Body Milk Review

So you guys might know that I use body lotions throughout the year only replacing them with Body Butters during the winter. But that was until I received the Oshea Sheasoft Fairness Nourishing Body Lotion which kindda changed the game.

I don’t have an extremely dry skin, I just love keeping it healthy throughout the year, but during winter, my skin seems to need more than just a body lotion. Days when I use just a body lotion during winter, my skin tends to get dry by the time I am ready for bed, and by next morning if feels like my skin has been deprived of any moisturization for ages. With body butters, it’s a bit better, I go to bed with healthy skin, and by the time I go to shower the next day, my skin seems to get dry and dehydrated. Neither thick nor runny

My Experience:

I’ll explain why exactly this body milk is a game changer. Firstly, just as the brand claimed, it has a quick penetration formula, and it absorbs into the skin in fractions of seconds. Meaning it doesn’t leave a greasy or heavy feeling and I can bet that it will work as amazing as this even during summer.  Now for the moisturizing power, would you believe if I tell you that it hydrates better than a body butter? That’s right. When I hop into the shower the next day, it doesn’t even feel like my winter skin. So another one of the claims that’s true- it moisturizes for 24+ hours.

And what’s more? It contains Titanium Dioxide, meaning that the SPF 15 is basically Physical Sunscreen and not a Chemical one, and will suit even the most sensitive skin-i.e. mine. And also the bottle comes with a pump and it cannot get more hygienic and easier to use.

The lightening effect might be true since it contains liquorice, but I can’t really tell as I came back from Andaman severely tanned and with horrible allergy and it would have taken me around a month to get rid of the tan and notice the lightening effect, but I preferred giving this Body Milk a shout out already. And the mention of my horrible allergy reminds me to also tell you guys that the body butter I took with me on my trip made my allergy even worse.  But thanks to this amazing body milk, it actually helped recovering from my severely swollen, red, patchy allergy. 3 days of using this body milk and you cannot even tell how badly I suffered from the sun allergy.

One minus point goes to the added use of Paraben. If you are someone who tries to stay as far from parabens (just like me) as possible you might wanna rethink about purchasing this Body Milk as it contains parabens not in one form but two. But if you are someone who doesn’t care about parabens and usually opt for drugstore body lotions (usually they contain parabens in 2-3 forms), I should suggest you to get this one instead, as it’s far better than any other body lotions that I’ve ever used, and it costs the same as the drugstore brands.

  • Does everything that it claims
  • Super affordable
  • Hygienic
  • Comes with physical sunscreen- SPF 15
  • So far the best body milk/moisturizer that I’ve ever used
  • Nice floral scent

  • Contains paraben
  • Won’t be my choice when I’m travelling

Blogmas: Skincafe Holiday Special Lip Butters Review – Gingerbread Latte, Spiced Pumpkin Latte, Peppermint Latte

With Christmas around the corner, my house has finally started looking a bit festive after all the unpackings had been done. While the baking stuffs are getting ready at the Kitchen, I took my time to bring out all the Christmassy stuffs and started making my bedroom Christmas themed.  You can smell Christmas literally in every corner of my room, including me. Guess how?

Well, I’ll answer that. One of my beloved all-natural, handcrafted brands SkinCafe launched their Christmas themed lip butters. They call it holiday special, but I’ll continue calling it the Christmas Special. So the lip butters they came out with are- Gingerbread Latte, Spiced Pumpkin Latte and Peppermint Latte.

dsc_0871I mean wow! You can now literally smell Christmas on your lips too, and just like any other Skincafe products, the packaging cannot get any more adorable than this.

Now let’s take a look at the ingredients:

  • Clove Bud Essential Oil
  • Cinnamon Essential Oil
  • Nutmeg Essential Oil
  • Shea Butter
  • Kokum Butter
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Apricot Kernel
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Ginger Essential Oil/Peppermint Essential Oil/Pumpkin Seed Oil

Shelf Life: 3 months

Price: MRP 500/-

You might think that the price is a bit high for a lip butter, so let’s tell you how it becomes all the more reasonable. In a couple of my previous posts, I wrote about my lip balm addiction, how I used to reapply lip balms within 15-20 minutes and that I always had 12-15 lip balms scattered everywhere from my under my pillow to my numerous hand bags for my convenience. About a couple of months ago I learnt that it’s actually an addiction that no one talks about. Lip Balms that contains humectants such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin makes your lips permanently dry.  The more you use those lip balms, the drier your lips will get making you reapply more often, which I figured was my case. I immediately started using lip balms as less as possible which was hard as my lips would get dry and chapped as apparently it was harder to check out the ingredient lists of all the lip balms that I proudly own. As soon as I thought it’s becoming a little easier, along came winter making it all the more hard. And that’s when I was generously sent out these Christmassy Lip Butters which changed the scenario.

And if you are still not convinced, just look at the list of essential oils used to make these babies. No wonder I can get away without reapplying within 3-4 hours.

Gingerbread Latte:

As the name suggests, smells like gingerbread.

Spicy Pumpkins:

Hated Pumpkins since I was a kid, sure enough never had anything with pumpkin spice in it, but this smell makes me want to.

Peppermint Latte:

That amazing minty smell!

So if you are looking for adorable Christmas gifts, you know what to buy. Which reminds me that I have been working on a Christmas Gift guide and am just waiting for a couple of deliveries to arrive. Who’s excited?

  • Adorable Packaging
  • Doesn’t contain humectants.
  • All natural ingredients
  • Contains loads of essential oils
  • Keeps lips hydrated for a long time
  • Smells Amazing
  • Travel Friendly
  • Makes amazing Christmas Gifts

Note: Samples sent for review purpose but all he opinions are honest.

The Partyholic-December 2016 Fab Bag Review

For a change, Fab Bag delivered too early this month, the day after I came back from my trip. So I decided to put a halt in my series of Andaman Travelogue to post the review.

The bag is a metallic hologram one, filled with goodies that are perfect for the season.

dsc_0983 So let’s get inside of the bag…

  • Be A Bombshell Lip Stain-Riot

I have the option to choose, and I chose this one. The shade is a lovely pink colour, and to check out the staying power, I didn’t wash off the swatch. For 12 long hours (until I went to sleep), there were no smudge, no transfer. When I woke up next morning, the swatch faded just a little, but still no smudge and it stayed that way until I showered. It’s been over 24 hours and there’s still a lovely hint of pink on my arm which I guess will require a little makeup remover. So I definitely adore the lip stain and can’t wait to create a makeup look wearing it.

  • Iba Halal Foot Massage Creamdsc_0995

A winter necessity…

  • Natural Bath & Body Hair Mist

If you read my blog regularly, you’ll know that I don’t put much effort on my hair. I guess it’s not supposed to do anything besides making my hair smell good.

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil Roll Ondsc_0991

This sounds like a terrific product with anyone with stretch marks and irritated skin. I have repeatedly talked about my hyper-sensitive skin which literally got burnt on my trip. My arms suffered a terrible sun allergy and I am hoping this roll on will help them recover.

So over all, I loved my December Bag, and since there’s so much time to order yours, here’s the link:

Travel Skincare Packing

Travelling, the time when the trial size samples from the all the beauty boxes you have ever received comes to your rescue, or rather your skin’s rescue. I never take my skincare routine lightly even while travelling. However, last time when I travelled during the winter, I travelled with a terrible skin which I recovered as soon as I got back home. So, this time I took it a little more seriously by saving up all things sample sized before even I planned the whole trip. I also ordered a bunch of samples sized Korean Cosmetics from cosmetic love about 45 days ago, and have been waiting for them to show up at my doorstep, but I guess I’ll have to pack them up for my next trip. So here’s all the stuff I’m packing up with me.

  • Double Cleansing:

Yes, I am actually going to double cleanse throughout my trip. So I am packing the Veda Earth Cleansing oil and the Vichy Ideal White Cleansing foam samples. I am also taking the Forest Essential Cleansing paste in case one of them runs out.

  • Face Packs:

This one’s pretty ridiculous, packing 3 types of Facial Packs for an 8 day family trip. But I told to myself ‘just in case’ 😀

  • Rose Water (Toner+Mist):

Sure I wasn’t going to travel without a mist and the Kama Ayurveda Distilled Rose water seemed to be the perfect choice. It doubles as a toner and a mist.

  • Serum:

Thanks Fab Bag for being one of my favourite sample recourses.

  • Moisturizer/Night Cream:

I packed up two types of day creams, both containing a little amount of SPF. The Taiyu Silk Cream is probably the only product that my sister and I are gonna share.

  • Cushion Compact:

I am most definitely not leaving my cushion compact behind. All my sunscreens practically became useless after I welcomed this beauty in my stash. So here’s the plan: if I stay out in the sun for more than 3 hrs, I am going to clean my face using wet tissues, spray on some rose waters and I’m gonna pat some cushion compact on my skin. Pretty hygienic isn’t it? And of course I’m gonna carry my sanitizers with me.

  • Wet Wipes:

What I just talked about…

  • Eye Cream:

Since the Korean Eye Cream samples didn’t reach my door steps yet, I’m gonna have to continue using the Babor Firming Cream as my eye cream.

  • Body Butter:

I received it with my Nature’s Co. Subscription bag and I love it!

  • Hair Oil:

I might ignore my hair like always, but just in case, I packed this Kronokare Hair Oil with me.

  • Sheet Mask:

For an 8 day tour, I guess two sheet masks are just enough.

  • Lip Balm :

I guess it’s a little more hygienic to use squeeze out lip balms while travelling rather than using lip balms that come in tiny tubs or sticks.

  • Body Mist:

And lastly, even though it doesn’t count as skincare, I really wanna smell good throughout my trip . So am carrying my Chambor Geneva Body Mist Deluxe Vile.

And this is the bag where I’m probably gonna put all my skincare products and cosmetics for the week.

p_20161122_153424 And if my orders reach my doorstep within the next couple of days, I will be doing a little update.

Till then,

Tonymoly I’m Real Makgeolli Mask Sheet- Skin Purifying Review

After a long time I am back with my Korean Skincare reviews and this time I am going to write about one of my favourite sheet masks from the Tonymoly I’m real sheet mask range.

I’ve already talked so much about my love for rice masks. They are so purifying and helps my skin a lot when I breakout. Now Makgeolli is a very popular alcoholic beverage in Korea made out of rice and when it comes to skincare benefits, it is as good as sake. Sure as hell, I was bound to love it, as it claims to purify the skin too.

As it turns out, it did even a better job than the rice mask and I hope Makgeolli was available in India (not the sheet mask but the real thing) so that I could have applied it on my face every single day.

Product Claims:

Nourish your skin with the I’m real Makgeolli Mask Sheet! This 3-layer pulp sheet is filled with a latex-based essence that is infused with natural oils to provide maximum elasticity and purification for your skin. No parabens, talc, benozphenone, or triethanolamine included.

The fitting was similar to the other sheet masks from the I’m Real range, not that perfect, but almost there.

See:Tonymoly I’m Real Lemon Mask Sheet for Brightening Review

My Experience:

I applied this mask during that time of the months when I breakout the most. This started a few months back, during PMSing I started getting one huge pimple each month with no head, and it stays there during those days, and then after a few days, it slowly vanishes leaving a bad scar. I guess it’s hormonal and there’s nothing that can be done. So I applied this mask while the bump of the month just appeared right on top of my nose and my skin was a little uneven.  I applied it after double cleansing and toning my face, left it on for half an hour, removed it, patted the leftover serum on my face and finished it off with a night cream. The hydration and the brightening effect were noticeable as soon as I took the sheet off. The next morning I woke up to a clear bright skin, with the little bumps gone and the huge pimple with no head lessened in size. Usually the bump grows for the next couple of days, but this time it kept reducing and then it slowly vanished without living a scar. How wonderful!

I guess I cannot be happier. And the brightening effect remained there for the next few days. What more can someone expect from a sheet mask?

  • Does what it claims
  • Brightens
  • Hydrates
  • Afoordable

Qraa Underarm Whitening Cream Review

This one’s for beauties whose underarms are not as pretty as their face is and who have to think twice before wearing a sleeveless dress. That would have counted me before I discovered the Qraa Underarm Black Spot Treatment Cream.

I fall under the larger ratio of girls with underarms and lucky me! I discovered this magic cream.

Product claims: With extensive research, Qraa Under Arm Whitening cream is the only product in current market that instead of hiding the darkness of underarms by leaving a white patch, treats the cause of darkness by reducing melanin from there.

Qraa Underarm cream lightens your skin to reveal visibly fairer and smoother underarms. It’s natural ingredients, Licorice extracts and Witch Hazel, reduce melanin production and soothe skin irritations to reveal fairer, whiter underarms. It has high quality natural herbal extracts that are proven to reduce rashes, mild pimples and dark spots from your underarm.

Price: 360 Rs

Wt: 100 gm

Directions for use: Take an appropriate quantity, massage daily.

Use twice a day and see visible result within 10 days.

The product comes in a white opaque squeeze tube with a flip flop cap which makes the whole thing travel friendly.

My Experience:

The cream comes in a pale colour and the texture is soft and smooth which spreads evenly. I have been using the cream for a couple of months now (had to discontinue for week while I was travelling and forgot to pack it up), twice a day after showering. Within a couple of weeks I started noticing that my stubbornly dark underarms are visibly lightening. It didn’t totally turn light at once, but it sure gave the ‘on its way signal’and I knew that with regular usage I am going to be the proud owner of underarms that matches the skin of the rest of my body. After a week of discontinuation I resumed the usage and my underarm lightening meter kept getting high.

What I love the most about this cream is that it doesn’t make me sweat no matter how humid the day is; instead it gives my underarms a cooling sensation. Also, it absorbs real quick into the skin so there’s no worrying about the clothes getting stained.

So guess who’s happy?

Overall, it’s a great curation and a blessing for girls with dark underarms. It does what it claims, it smells nice, it gives you underarms a cooling sensation, and there’s not even a single back draw. And since I haven’t found a single solution to dark underarms other than this one, the 2 months of patience are really worth it.

[If you don’t have extreme dark underarms like me, and have somewhat dark underarms, I guess it will take only a couple of weeks]

  • Does what it claims
  • Smells nice
  • Gives u a cooling sensation and doesn’t make you sweat.
  • Travel Friendly
  • Budget Friendly
  • Doesn’t irritate my super sensitive skin

Where To Purchase:

Official Website , FlipkartAmazon

NOTE 1: I have been using this for ‘almost’ two months with a week (or more) of discontinuation. My underarm has lightened a lot, but not completely yet. On a scale from 1 to 10, if my underarm tone was 1, it is now 7. But at this rate, I strongly believe that I will be 10 before Christmas, and when I do, I will make sure to update this article.

NOTE 2: Products received as press samples, but the review is complete my own honest opinion. (Like always 😉 )

Winter Skincare Series- Bodycare Routine

Over the last two days, I have been talking about how to get a beautiful healthy skin during the winter. But let’s not forget that the rest 90% of the body is equally important. You need to take care of the rest of the skin and not just the skin on your face because trust me; you don’t wanna look like a new face replaced on an old statue. Here’s what I do to keep a healthy skin all over my body.

  • Body Wash: I rarely use soaps and try to use mild sulphate free body washes and even if I use a soap, I use the handmade ones. I am currently using the Ayca Body Wash which smells amazing and doesn’t dry my skin.

I won’t put this as a point in here but when I do a little work out before showering, I use the Skinyoga Post Workout Neem purifier after using the body wash.

I also use bath salts every now and then..

  • Body Wrap: This is like a spa at home and the best way to detoxify the skin. I use The Nature’s Co Green Clay Body Wrap once a month when I feel the need of a luxurious bathing experience. You are supposed to slather the Green Clay and wait until it dries out but I am a person with very little patience and every single time I run out of that little patience even before it dries out. But, I love how the covered skin area gets warmed up, as if I can actually feel the toxins flushing out. 20160404_122130
  • Body Butter: I don’t have a dry skin, but I use a body lotion throughout the year only replacing it with a good body butter during the winter. Body butters are thicker than body lotions and you won’t feel the need to reapply it throughout the rest of the day. If you are a dry skin beauty, I will recommend switching to a Body Butter during the winter. I am using the Seasoul Lavender Body Butter right now.
  • Massage Candle: It’s not a luxury step I go through very often. But if you have never tried one, I must suggest giving it a try. I haven’t yet started using it this winter, but I enjoyed the candle way too much last winter to leave it out. You are supposed to light the candle and once the wax melts, you need to take the hot oil, rub into your palms and massage all over your body. The one that I’m using is from SeasoulM
  • Hand Cream: My hands and fingers tend to go dark every winter ever since I was a kid. However, the use of a hand cream during winter has helped too much and I don’t look at dark hands since the past few years. The best time to use a hand cream is right before going under the blanket. I am using the Nature’s Co Kiwi Hand Cream right now. kiwi_front
  • Underarm Cream: This step has got nothing to do with winter. But I am putting it anyway as I am using one right now and it helped a lot with my dark underarms. I am using The Qraa Underarm Black Spot Treatment. qraa_front
  • Foot Scrub: I don’t suffer from cracked heals (*touchwood) and I make sure that I don’t ever. I use a foot scrub once a month, and start wearing socks throughout the day as soon as the weather gets a little chilly, and my foot cream is on its way.

I am using The Nature’s Co Walnut Foot scrub right now.

And Last but not the Least: I don’t usually go out in the sun these days but when I do I slather some sunscreen on my arms. Usually I forget, but when I don’t, I use the Aroma Magic Sunblock I mentioned in my am skincare.

So that’s all. I hope this post helped(and encouraged) you guys to take good care of not just your face, but also your skin. I can’t wait to read your responses. And I will be back with my winter hair care soon.

Till then Bye,

Winter Skincare Series-2) PM Skincare Routine

As promised, I am back with my current pm winter skincare routine today. The pm skincare is a bit more intense than the am. However, not every step is required to be followed every single day. So because it’s going to be a long one, let’s not waste anymore of our precious time babbling.p_20161113_161131

  1. Cleansing Oil: The first thing I do upon reaching home is to remove my makeup using a cleansing oil. I take a few drops and massage it all over my face. The makeup, dirt and sebum breaks down and I wash it off using water. The current cleansing oil that am using (Tonymoly Brightening Oil), takes a white liquidy form upon contact with water. I use the oil even when I stay at home whole day as the cleansing oil follows the ‘oil breaks oil’ formula and help get rid of the excess oil and sebum.
    While travelling I use
  2. Cleansing Foam: The first step from my am routine. I talked about it tomorrow.
  3. Exfoliation: I exfoliate once a week using a Chemical Peeling Exfoliator. To get a beautiful healthy skin, it’s very important to remove the dead cells; otherwise no amount of slathered moisturizer is going to work. That being said, stay away from ‘scurbs’ with huge granules. And if you have some left in the cabinet, especially the apricot ones, use it on your body or feet but keep it away from you face. Also, don’t over exfoliate. It will only increase the melanin secretion making you look dark.
Currently I am using Goodal Phytowash.
  4. Lip Scrub: Our lips crave some extra attention during winter. The best way to get rid of chapped lips is to first get rid of the dry lip cells and then slather some lip balm. Once a week or twice a month is enough. Currently using the Lemon Meringue Pie from Skincafe6 (1)
  5. Face Pack: Again a once a week commitment. My favourite one is a mix of Besan and Tomato Juice, works like magic. Currently I am testing the rubber mask fuss from Korea, but I am not a big fan yet.
  6. Toning: The intense cleansing process has taken out all the dirt and sebum from deep within your pores. Now it’s time to close them up. I try to slather my toner within 30 seconds after washing my face. I’ve also talked about this step in my previous post from the series.
  7. Serum: I talked about this as well. If you have multiple issues, don’t be afraid to make a serum cocktail with serums targeting different issues.
  8. Sheet Mask: If you’ve been reading my post for a while now, you’ll know that am crazy for sheet masks. I sheet mask twice a week. But as winter approaches, I try sheet masking every other day. I am currently using the Tonymoly range.
  9. Night Cream: You have done enough, now finish it off with a night cream (there’s still a tiny step left). I am currently using the Tayiu Silk Cream prescribed to my sister (who has an oily and acne prone skin) by her dermatologist. Once I crashed at her place but I forgot to carry my night cream so I borrowed hers and was amazed to see what it did to my super-sensitive combination skin. The following day I purchased one for myself and I’ve been hooked ever since.
  10. Eye Cream: Again I talked about this yesterday. I use it as the very last step as my night cream doesn’t get to mess with it if I do.
  11. Lip Balm: No this super obvious step shouldn’t be a point in itself. But recently I learnt something horrible that I wanna share with you guys. You see, I happen to be a proud owner of at least 7-8 lip balms scattered everywhere. Two at the dresser, one at my bed side, one at my computer table, one at my corner rack, and a lot in different handbags. You would see me re-applying within 15-20 minutes as my lips tend to get dry, and also because I am obsessed with my lip balms. However, recently I read an article that using lip balms frequently is an addiction itself. I realized that every line from the article was true, and I came to know that by using lip balms very often our lips tend to get even drier. Ever since then I decreased my lip balm application. I use them religiously after my am and pm skincare and apart from that I use them only if I feel that my lips are going to crack if I don’t. And guess what? It’s really helping.

So that’s all. That’s my whole night time routine. I will be back with my winter body care hopefully tomorrow. Till then Bye.

Nykaa’s The Beauty Lab Review

I was supposed to write down my Winter PM skincare but after a certain disappointment here I am reviewing the The Beauty Lab box from Nykaa.

Note: Please pardon the all the more disappointing pictures. Both our DSLR and Compact are with my fiancé who is currently out for his bachelor trip (the date hasn’t been fixed yet, and there’s still more than a year left). And when I can’t get a hold of any camera I use my dad’s phone which does a pretty good job for a phone but unfortunately he won’t be home until late night and I couldn’t wait to share my disappointment with you guys, so I used my own mobile phone which takes shitty pictures.

What is The Beauty Lab:

It’s a beauty subscription box from Nykaa.

What They Claim:

It’s time to get sparkling and there’s no better date for your best friend’s wedding than The Beauty Lab’s subscription-only Brides’s Squad edit. Tried and tested by Nykaa’s team of beauty mavens, these fabulous products will make sure you are glowing and glossy from your tresses to your tips.

Bringing to you our favourite skincare, makeup and hair products that are dedicated entirely to bridal beauty. Perfect for every bride, sister of the bride, or bridesmaid to get ready for the bid day.

On my last post I wrote that my childhood best friend is getting married in a week and I am trying to get festive ready. She’s not a beauty junkie and did a bad job while doing her cosmetics shopping. So I was browsing through the Nykaa Website to get some perfect bridal colour cosmetics for her and that’s when I found out about The Beauty Lab box. I wasted no time ordering it thinking that it’s going to be the best gift for her, and of course I can add some other colour cosmetics in it if I wanted.

However there was no option for choosing the lip cream shade and I thought that may be if I order it first, they’ll send me a link to choose the shade just like Fab Bag does. Alas! There was nothing. I mailed the team to receive no reply. So I waited, praying that they don’t deliver the purple shaded lip cream and the white pastel nail polish (only shades that were available on their site).

After five days, my horror came true when I received the shades I was dreading.

Here’s everything that I received: 20161114_132248

  • Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Cream in the shade Not One For Playing Games:

Now correct me if I’m wrong, but which bride or bridesmaid will wear this shade on their/their best friend’s wedding? I mean look at that colour! There’s no denying the fact that it’s a lovely colour and the texture is so tempting. But even in Christian weddings we don’t were such bold colours, not even as bridesmaids. And search me a Bengali bride that isn’t wearing red lips! I know there are people who love to do unique and bold stuffs, but that’s not the majority of the population. And even though they have mentioned that it’s for the bridal squad as well, but no, I’m not going to wear this with my pink lehenga or my pink saree for that matter. And yes, I am aware that there’s many beautiful girls who would love wear this shade on their best friend’s wedding, but I will strongly stick to my point that a selection option would have nice.

Yes, I swatched the shade as I won’t be gifting it to her anyway. Guess I will have to wait for another delivery again.

  • Nykaa Matte Nail Lacquar in the shade S’mores Milkshake:20161114_132504

This could have been a good nail paint for Christian brides but we are talking about a tradition Bengali wedding here. Neither the bride, nor any friend will be able to wear it. But the shade is pretty.

  • Wella Professional Elements Shampoo and Mask 30 ml:

Finally something brilliant!20161114_132518

  • Bipha Ayurveda Red Sandalwood cream 15gm

Another brilliant product! I have high hopes on this. I don’t think sandalwood can ever go wrong.

  • Ecotique Saffron Oil 30 ml:

The name says it all!

So overall, the whole box is nicely curated. From hair to skin to makeup, they have covered every zone to prepare the bride for her special day. But the shades somehow ruined everything. I wonder how it didn’t occur to them that by giving the customer the choice for selection they would have been able to create the perfect gift for the bride? I mean had I received the bridal shades, it would have been my permanent go to wedding gift. But alas! Ordering a box and then separately ordering the colour cosmetics to switch is something I won’t do every damn time!

Winter Skincare Series-1) AM Skincare Routine

In winter, our skin requires special attention, just like the new baby of the family. The effort you put to get a healthy skin and hair multiplies. But even after all those cares, sometimes we still get hit by that chilly weather in the form of flaky skin, dry cuticles, cracked heals and the list goes one. Last year I put down a huge list of products in a single post that I throw on my body from head to toe which looked so intensive that some people feared to try it out. But trust me; it doesn’t take as much effort as it looks. When you describe it, it seems tremendous, but when you actually make it a habit, you’ll realize that it takes hardly 5-10 minutes.

So, I’ll do a series of posts from winter skincare to winter hair care and to simplify it even more, I will feature only one product that I am using exactly now (the past couple of days) even if it’s a tiny sample I received with my beauty bags. However, if the product that I am using is not easily available in India, I will try to post an alternative.

Here we go. The first post from the series is going to be am skincare which is super simple. I guess the simplest of all.

  1. Cleansing: I don’t double cleanse in the morning because I go through an extensive routine every single night without fail. And you won’t EVER catch me taking out traces of dirt/sebum using a toner, as I feel that if your toner is taking out dirt then you are not doing it right. So I am a late waker and I stay up all night righting my posts (it’s 1.34 am and I just started). I wake up, check my e-mails and messages, have my breakfast, spend some more time on e-mails and Instagram and while showering I was my face with a mild face wash
sheaCurrently I am using Oshea Papayaclean Anti-Blemish face wash which I received for review purpose and which took a permanent place in my regimen, because it is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I stashed away my Skinfood Egg White Porefoam for an infinite period of time because it has a high pH level. A big NO for winters.
  2. Toning: Toners containing alcohol are the worst. They will dry out your skin even during summer, so stay as far from them as possible.
My favourite form of toner is of course Rose Water. My favourite one happens to be the one from Kama Ayurveda, but I ran out of it, so I am doing justice to my already owned Dabur Gulabari (that contains loads of paraben) for the time being as I am broke.
  3. Serum: This is a very important step. You can never imagine what those liquidy miracles can do. They give the skin an immense boost of radiation while hydrating it at the same time. If your skin tends to dry out even after moisturizing, try using a serum before and you’ll thank me.
The Canola Honey Serum from Innisfree is excellent for winters. Delhiets, I envy you! Also, I am much loving the Kaya Brightening serum I received with my Fab Bag. My skin has never been so radiant. I would have purchased the full-sized product if I wasn’t a clumsy person, or if it came in something other than a glass bottle.p_20161113_160615
  4. Moisturizer: Here comes the regret part. I have been using the Votre Pigmentation Cream until today. It isn’t an ideal choice for winter (not even for summer, it gets greasy) but I was using it anyway as I ran out of my Aroma Magic Day Cream and I was waiting for my Just Herbs order to show up, which it did, just as I was done clicking the pictures and had just put everything back where they belongs. But yepiie! I am gonna use it starting tomorrow and I have such high expectations.p_20161113_170143
  5. Eye Cream: Every woman should be using an eye cream once they are 25, because it’s better to take precaution before the damage is already done. But sadly in my case I started suffering from puffy eyes (and dark circles) since my 12th I guess it’s hereditary as no amount of eye cream seems to work.
So while I am still awaiting my Eye Cream to be delivered all the way from Korea, I am using the Babor Firming Cream as an eye cream and I must say that even if the puffiness is still there, the dark circles have gone and my under eye area looks healthy.
  6. Sunscreen: The last and a very important step. You must have heard that even though the sun is not shining bright, the UV ray is still as harmful as it’s in the summer and that you’ll still tan even during the winter if you don’t wear a sunscreen. I for one, get crazy tanned, sometimes even wearing layers of Day Cream containing SPF-Sunblock- Compact Powder containing SPF. My skin doesn’t co-operate with chemical sunscreens so I always make sure that it’s a sun block/physical sunscreen.p_20161113_160708
My current love is the Innisfree Waterglow Cushion. I even skip wearing foundation during the day time no matter how much makeup the event requires. Also I rarely tan using this cushion. If you cannot get your hands on one here’s two much trusted Sun blocks tried and tested on my own (super-sensitive) skin: Chambor White UV Protector and Aroma Magic Sun Block Lotion.

So here’s my whole AM skin (face) care routine which will be followed by a PM one which is a bit intensive. The two more posts from the series will be Winter Body Care and Winter Hair Care. If you have something on your mind, do let me know in the comment section.

Till then bye…

P.S: My childhood best friend is getting married in about a week and I am making sure that my skin looks at its best (*touchwood) those few days. Not trying to steal the show or something, just hoping to look good that’s all. So along with being a winter care post, these articles are somehow a ‘How to Get a Festive Ready Skin’ post in a manner. Hope you guys enjoyed it. <3
