Innisfree Water Glow Cushion SPF 50 + PA +++ Review

Cushion Compacts are a gift to us from the K-beauty brands. After BB Creams, CC Cream, DD Cream and sheet masks, they came up with this revolutionary creation which will make you want to pack your regular foundations and sunscreens away. However, I am a little too late to get my hands on one of the beauties since the only K-beauty brand in India is far away from my city and I had to literally quit my job to finally visit the store as I wasn’t able to manage any leaves. I shopped at the Innisfree store like crazy and it’s a little hard to evaluate for me which pick is my favourite one. I came back to my city like a victor, purchasing a small briefcase dedicated entirely to the products I picked up from the store. The cushion compact however is at the top of my favourite list right now.

The packaging:

I cannot be more happy with the packaging. It’s really easy to travel with. With a film to protect the sponge, the compact cannot get any more hygienic.

My Experience:

The Water Glow Cushion Compact is meant to give the skin the much adored dewy finish. I fell in love with the compact after the very first usage. It gives the skin a medium coverage but it is totally build-able in case you want a better  coverage. As for me, I am very satisfied with the coverage I don’t think I’ll need my usual sunscreens ever again. The staying power is pretty good to. It’s an universal rule to re-apply your sunscreen every 3 hours so whenever am out in the sun for over 3 hours I clean my face with a cleansing wet wipes, spray on some mist on my face and apply the cushion compact all over my face and neck. I feel that’s the most hygienic way to protect my skin from the sun.

Apart from the staying power and the coverage, the application is also worth noting. You just have to dab the smooth, soft puff into the cushion and just pat, pat, pat, all over your face. You might notice the whitish tone in the cream post application, that is because most of K-beauty brand sunscreen uses physical sunscreen instead of a chemical one, which is actually great for your skin. However, unlike any other physical sunscreen, this cushion compact blends super easily on the skin, whereas any other physical sunscreen takes a little effort to blend in and leaves a weird white residue.

The best part? when you feel like your cushion has tried up, just flip it over and use it until that end becomes dry too. The sponge is replaceable and when both the ends become dry you just can purchase a re-fill instead of purchasing the whole thing.

Nothing delights me more than seeing the Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide duo in my product list. 😀

  • Travel friendly
  • Contains SPF 50+
  • Doesn’t contain parabens
  • Organic sunscreen
  • Good coverage
  • Gives the skin a dewy look

Nothing that I can find, except for it can be a little too pricey for those who are in budget, but that is totally worth it.

The Herb Boutique Zesty Sweet Orange Body Polish Review

Hello everybody, hope you are all doing well. Remember the huge PR package that was sent to me sometimes back?

I have been using the products for a while and it’s about time I start reviewing them as well. Starting with my favourite products inside the box- Zesty Sweet Orange Body Polish.

ABOUT THE HERB BOUTIQUE: The herb boutique is a brand with all things organic. Their products are sulphate, Paraben and cruelty free.  The brand provides products for body and health care. They have body polishers, organic soaps, organic honey, bath salts, hair oil for damaged hair and also variety of organic teas.

I have heard about body polishes so much but haven’t used one before. Needless to say I had no idea what to expect, but since it contained orange zest and orange juice I was really hoping it would remove my horribly stubborn tan that Andaman left me with.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY: INR 999/150grams, Available at

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Awaken your senses with this irresistible scent of citrus from a blend of sweet oranges, vital minerals, and pure almond oil. Zesty Sweet Orange Body Polish will give you a skin that commands respect. Made with only natural products in its purest form, this body polish will rejuvenate your skin.

My Experience:

The Zesty Orange Body Polish comes in a heavy duty jar. As you can see the brand sent me a wooden spatula along with the package, scooping out the body polish really is convenient and hygienic. The texture of the product is thick and sticky with tiny grains. The best part about the polish is that the grain melts after they have done their job, so there’s no need to worry about over-exfoliating. The colour of the product is rich orange and looks and smells yummy. I don’t know about you but citrusy fragrance really refreshes my mind and body. The application of the product is as luxurious at it can get.

The skin becomes super soft and smooth post polishing. As for my tan removal expectation, it indeed removed my tan, but very gradually. If you aren’t much tanned, you can as well expect some brightening effect. Even though it does not dry out my combination skin, I prefer using a body cream throughout the year.

  • Does everything it claims
  • Comes with a wooden spatula
  • Chemical and paraben free, all organic ingredient list
  • The grains/granules are super tiny and melts when their job is done, so there’s no fear of over-exfoliating
  • De-tans and brightens skin

  • It might seem pricey but since it’s pure organic I think it’s somewhat reasonable

Go Get It Girl-March 2017 Fab Bag Review

Hello everybody, today I received my March Fab Bag ‘Go Get It Girl’ and even though the total worth of the products are not very high, I am impressed with most of that products that was inside. This month I’ve got 6 products, among which 3 are full sized.

The bag itself has a classy look in it and is pretty high quality. Here’s everything that was inside the bag.

  • Seduction Las Vegas Lipstick 09 – Deep Red (Full Size Rs.180/-)

Not a huge fan. Even though I chose the shade myself, I wasn’t impressed when I noticed how bad my swatch bleed and transferred. Before even I finished photographing the other products from the bag, all that was left of the swatch was a stain. Never happened before.

  • SUGAR Tic Tac Toe Nail Lacquer-003 Burn Your Beiges (Full Size: Rs199/-)

When the nail lacquer launched last month (or lat to last month?) I was thinking of getting myself some shades from the range. But then I thought that Fab Bag will send me one pretty soon anyway, so let’s wait and find out what shade they send and then go on ordering the other shades lol.

P.S: I love this shade.

  • Kronokare Flower Power – Face Toner (Rs.295 for 100ml)

I’ve got a 50ml sample and LOVE it. It’s my favourite product from the bag. Just the day before yesterday I was talking about how I’m on the lookout for an alcohol free toner that has a spray nozzle. I guess my search ends here.

  • Moha Herbal Shower Gel –(105/- for 100ml)

Goes straight into my travel essentials.

  • Natural Bath & Body Beautiful Day Mist (Rs.325 for 200ml)

I’m getting stocked up with this body and hair mists from Natural Bath & Body thanks to Fab Bag. I haven’t used the previous ones yet and I think that if I wait a little longer I’ll own their whole mist range.

  • Ayorma SPF 40 Sun Block (Rs.349 for 50 ml)

I’ve got a 10 gm sample of this. I’ve previously received their night cream sample and it didn’t work for me. For some strange reason I’ve got a pretty good feeling about this. Hope this will work on my skin.

So that’s everything I go this month, you can get yours from here:

Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic Aromatic Skin Toner Review

I’ve raved so much about the importance of toner in all my skincare routine posts. You might feel that it’s an extra step, but once you include a toner in your routine you’ll figure out the difference it makes. Not to mention that they maintain the pH balance of our skin, the right toner can as well minimize the pores and even control break out. But there’s one catch, alcohol based toners can rip your skin out of its natural moisture making your skin dry so avoid using them at all cost. I know many people use toner to remove whatever dirt and makeup are leftover after cleaning their face. I personally think that if your toner drenched cotton pad is taking out dirt or makeup residue from your skin, you are not cleaning your face right. As you can guess my toner drenched cotton pad NEVER gets a trace of dirt or sebum or makeup from my double cleaned (and usually exfoliated or wash off masked) skin, I love spraying my toner all over my face instead of using a cotton pad.

I have been using the Kama Ayurveda Distilled Rose Water for a long time and was on a lookout for an actual toner that was alcohol free. The Aroma Magic Skin Toner caught my eyes from the shelf of the Salon I go to. I’ve purchased so many products from Aroma Magic from that Salon and have loved most of them. I picked up the toner, read the level saying ‘I am 100% free of alcohol, paraben…’ I didn’t read any further, it was mine.

Product Description: Aroma Magic Aromatic Skin Toner for all types of skins. Aroma Magic Aromatic Skin Toner is an alcohol free antiseptic skin toner. It closes pores, softens facial lines, restores skins natural pH and provides radiance and refreshed feeling.

  • An alcohol free antiseptic skin toner
  • Closes pores, softens facial lines, and restores skin’s natural pH level

Price: Rs. 170 for 200 ml or Rs. 100 for 100 ml

My Experience:

The level at the back of the bottle said to spray it on your face. So of course you’ll expect a spray nozzle inside. To my horror, there was no nozzle at all. I tried using it by putting a cotton pad on top of it and shaking it, but so much products were spilled. I had no idea why would they package such a wonderful toner in such an useless package. Was it because it costs just 100 bucks? I Googled reviews from other bloggers and found out that their bottles do contain a nozzle, if not a spray nozzle. Was it just mine or have they changed the packaging? If it was just mine then was it a manufacturing defect or was my toner not a genuine one? I can vouch that the salon I got it from won’t sell fake products. So I don’t know what happened in there.

Then I came up with an idea. I had so many empty bottles of the Kama Ayurveda Rose Water mini version. I washed one up and poured the toner into the bottle and tada! I can spray an alcohol and paraben free all natural toner on my face, perfect! Does that sound unhygienic? May be, but at least am getting to use the product now.

The toner is super watery which is why so much product got wasted when I tried to use the first time. I have used rose waters and toners with my finger tips many times but with this toner it is just impossible. The toner has a mild fragrance which I don’t like or dislike, I don’t bother about it at all. However, upon religious usage I have noticed that my (hormonal) breakouts and the occasional weird bumps have been controlled. It says it’s for oily skin, and I have a combination skin which gets oily during my hormonal days, so I limit the usage of this toner to once a day, while during my daytime regimen I continue using my Kama Ayurveda Distilled Rose Water.

I absolutely love it. If you are someone who prefers using a cotton pad for applying a toner, you are supposedly going to love it even more for it works like a hero on clearing away excess oil and sebum. Oily skin beauties- this one’s for you, combination skin beauties- you can give this one a try.

Will I repurchase?

If it came with a spray nozzle or at least a normal nozzle I would never purchase any other toner ever. Considering it doesn’t, maybe I’ll continue pouring it in my empty rose water bottles, but I will still be on the lookout for my Holy Grail toner that comes with a spray nozzle (or at least any nozzle).

Will I recommend it?

If you can pour it in any spray bottle, or if you can come up with your unique method of using it, please give it a try.

Where to buy:

Official Site, Purplle, Nykaa, Amazon

  • Controls oil
  • Controls breakout
  • Removes excess sebum from the skin (okay I tested that once)
  • Paraben, Alcohol, Chemical Free
  • Super Cheap

  • Doesn’t come with a nozzle
  • Thus not travel friendly

The Face Shop Real Nature Red Ginseng Face Mask Review

In case you already don’t know, I’m not a huge fan of The Face Shop products. As I’ve earlier said, I’ve had their character masks shipped from Korea long before they launched in India and I didn’t have the best impression. TFS is a midrange Korean Skincare brand that comes off really cheap; however I feel like there are brands that costs the same and works way better on my skin. When they launched in Nykaa I had to do a little haul, because you know, am not having to ship them internationally.

So the first product I tried was the Red Ginseng sheet mask.

Product claims:

The mask sheet drenched with emulsified moisturizing serum with revitalizing Red Ginseng provides skin with a boost of energy and vitality.
Formula is without added parabens.

My CosDNA analysis came up a little bizarre with Alcohol Denat raising a red flag getting a huge 5 for being a potential irritant. Yikes!

My Experience:

I’ve earlier mentioned that I suffer from insomnia, and I haven’t got much sleep for over a week now. The sheet mask claimed to energize the skin, exactly what my tired skin needed.

Korean Red Ginseng is known for their anti-aging benefits, anti-inflammatory agents, evening out skin tone and revitalizing tired skin. My hopes were obviously high. Upon tearing the sheet mask pack, the hopes went higher when I noticed the mask drenched in a reddish brown serum. I haven’t used a sheet mask that’s not white or transparent (except for the character masks of course) and I was really excited. The fitting was almost perfect and reminded me of Etude House sheet masks that have tiny eye holes like this one.

I used the mask after double cleansing, exfoliating, wash off masking and toning my face and as soon as I threw the mask on, a minor cut I had on my forehead started burning. It didn’t sting that bad while exfoliating but it literally burned with the mask on. I remembered that the mask contains alcohol, now I was just sure that the amount was really high.

I kept on the mask on for 30 minutes and took it off when it was almost dry. My face was hydrated but not that overwhelmingly hydrated like the other time I sheet mask. I didn’t even have to pat the excess serum; I just went on to my night cream. I read reviews from other bloggers complaining that it made their face sticky; however I didn’t notice any excessive stickiness, maybe because I layered it with a thick night cream before even I felt the stickiness.

The following morning there wasn’t any noticeable change in my skin. No super hydration, no brightening effect, my skin looked energized though. However, my skin did look dewy throughout the next day which I loved, but that didn’t linger past afternoon. Any effect my skin achieved from this sheet mask didn’t linger more than a day, so it’s kind of a fail for me.

Price: MRP 100rs

Where to Buy:

Will I purchase it?

Not really

Will I suggest it?

I don’t know, I personally try staying away from products containing alcohol. I’m really very precise about not using a toner that contains alcohol because that can dry out the skin. Upon using this sheet mask my skin wasn’t immensely hydrated and it became kind of dry a day after so am guessing the alcohol is the culprit. What I won’t repurchase myself, I cannot recommend either, can I?

The Face Shop Mini Haul And First Impression

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll probably know that I’ve had a bad experience with The Face Shop in the past. The first time I used a TFS mask was long before they launched in India. I ordered a character mask and even though it was fun, I didn’t notice any change in my skin. After they launched in India I ordered again from Amazon. I was delivered a leaked mask that was manufactured back in 2015. I thought I was done with them but when they launched at Nykaa I changed my mind. I’ve never had a bad experience with Nykaa (*touchwood) so I felt really positive about this order.

Because I have had bad experience with TFS in the past, I didn’t go overboard with the order. I just ordered a Face Wash and 3 sheet masks. You can say it’s a trial haul because you know I’ll eventually end up ordering all of their products if they do any good to my skin. Thankfully I haven’t been disappointed so far. The products were packaged well and all of them were manufactured by the end of 2016 and imported on January 2017 which is cool considering Amazon delivered me products (about a month ago I guess) that were manufactured back in 2015 and imported on 2016 which wasn’t cool at all.

So here’s everything I purchased:

  • The Face Shop The Solution Radiance Face Mask: I LOVE products containing Vitamin C, they work really great on my skin. However, that one time I wasn’t thinking and used a Vita C mask after chemical exfoliating (which is a big NO) I was punished with a cystic acne. So be very careful while using products containing Vita A and Vita C, they can react badly on your skin if used along with AHA and BHA.
  • The Face Shop Real Nature Pomegranate Grenade Face Mask: Pomegranates are known for their firming ability. I’ve used Pomegranate Masks from Tonymoly and Innisfree and they have made my hopes high for this one already.
  • The Face Shop Real Nature Red Ginseng Ginsengrouge: I’ve read articles on how Korean Red Ginseng are great for skin, hair and health. May be I’ll find out some of the benefits after using this mask.
  • The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam: I really didn’t need a cleansing foam anytime soon. I have been using the Skinfood Egg Pore Cleansing Foam which will last me long enough, and I’m also stocked up with some Indian Organic Face Washes. I really have been looking forward to clearing up some space in my cabinet and a cleansing foam was the last thing I wanted. However, since it costs only 300 bucks I thought maybe it will come in a small tube. I’ve been ordering travel sized products for an upcoming trip and I ordered it without looking at the size or weight mentioned. And now it’s the bulkiest cleansing foam in my stash. I don’t regret ordering it though. I’ve used it once and so far, I like it.

So that’s everything I purchased this time. I will do detailed reviews on them once I use them up. I’ll also do a bigger haul if I end up loving them. In the mean time do let me know if there’s any particular product you want me to review.

Till then, bye

Natural Bath and Body Grapefruit & Vitamin C Gel Face Masque Review

Grapefruit extracts are loaded with anti-oxidants and are great our skin. But the bad news is that they can be potential irritant on sensitive skin. I still gave the Natural Bath & Body Grapefruit and Vitamin C Nourishment Cream a try considering their products work really great on my skin. However they broke me out and gave me bumps on my cheeks that took too long to go away. So when I received the Bath & Body Grapefruit and Vitamin C Masque with my Fab Bag I wasn’t happy. I still wanted to give it a try. It broke me out without fail. I wasn’t using any other new product back then but I still considered giving it another try, and it broke me out again. I got weird and tiny red bumps on my face and I never bothered to give it a third try.

What Does it Claim?

Nature’s most powerful antioxidants- Vitamin C, grapefruit oil and plant extracts team up together to create this whitening gel pack. This citrus facemask gently removes impurities and reveals skin thats remarkably lighter, whiter and brighter. Formulated with a precise concentration of Vitamin C that is known for its anti-aging and antioxidant powers, this gel also nourishes collagen fibers to maintain skin firmness. It is combined with Grapefruit extract to enhance its ability to lift the skin complexion and protect it from environmental damage.

Price: Rs. 325/- for 100 ml

My Experience:

The masque comes in a orangish gel like consistency that contains tiny beads for exfoliating. Like the instruction said, I applied the mask on a clean face and I started noticing a tingling sensation on my skin. I guess that’s because of the Vitamin C. I washed off my face after 15 minutes and within half an hour or so, I started noticing weird bumps on my skin. My skin doesn’t usually react to products containing Vita C so I guess it was just the Grapefruit Extract. I’m staying away from them for the rest of my life.

  • Paraben and chemical free
  • Spreads and washes off easily

  • Broke me out
  • Didn’t do anything it claimed to

Innisfree Skin Clinic Collagen Mask

Collagen is a highly raved ingredient used in Korean Skincare products, especially the anti-aging ones. It’s basically a protein found in human and animal body. As we age, the collagen production in our connective tissues minimizes thus giving us wrinkles. There are many Korean Products out there in the market that uses absorbable amount of Collagen that can give our skin a healthy boost. Being 27 and still not having started a thorough anti-aging routine, occasionally using products containing Collagen is the best I can do. I have used many Collagen Sheet Masks and the Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask Collagen has to be the best of them.

The Skin Clinic range from Innisfree targets different issues. I have used the Vita C from the range and it worked like magic on my skin. I was equally satisfied with the collagen one. Before I used it, I read two reviews from two different K-Beauty bloggers who claimed to have broken out using this particular sheet mask, one of them being a very trusted blogger of mine I was a bit sceptical about using it, but I still decided to give it a try considering that different products work differently on different skin.

What it is

  1. It contains collagen, which is good for skin firmness, to revitalize and firm loosened skin.2. This 100% natural cotton sheet is made from soft cotton hairs around the cotton wool.3. It is transparent and thin and has good adherence on the skin, which allows for its good substances to be more effective delivered into the skin.

How to use

  1. After cleansing, use toner to refine skin texture.
Take out mask from package and remove film. Evenly adhere it to entire face, avoiding eye and lip area.
    3. Remove the sheet after 10~20 minutes and gently pat to allow the remaining formula to absorb into skin.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycereth-26, Betaine, Carbomer, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cellulose Gum, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Glycerin, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Oil, Orchid Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Disodium EDTA

My Experience:

Unlike the “It’s Real” Squeeze Mask range, the Skin Clinic Mask range comes attached to a film making it really easy to unfold. The instruction said to leave it on the face for 10-20 minutes. However, the sheet was still damp when I removed it 30 minutes later. I was surprised to notice a very bright skin. Rarely any sheet mask gives me the immediate brightening effect. But this time I had a visibly bright, hydrated, plump, firm and clear skin. I must mention that when I used the mask my skin was extremely dehydrated because of the weird weather. No matter what I was putting on my face, my skin was getting dry within an hour; I was craving for a humidifier. So I was super impressed to find a hydrated and moisturized skin.

The next morning I woke up to a bright and  flawless skin. The hydration vanished by the afternoon (the weather was extremely, extremely dehydrating) but the brightness lingered for the next couple of days. I am very impressed with what it did to my skin and I’m definitely gonna stock up on this.

Will I recommend it?

Considering how well it worked on my skin, I’ll probably recommend. But then again I’ve read reviews where the blogger claimed that this mask broke them out, so if you are going to try this, just have your fingers crossed that it works on your skin like it did on mine.

January & February 2017 Empties

Hello everybody, hope you are all doing well. Today I’m going to do my first empties post and it’s kindda mess. I’ve never done an empties post before and habitually I kept throwing away the empties, especially the sheet masks. I have been waiting forever for a month when I’ll remember to store all the empties to start with my empties post, but then I figured that once I start posting them, maybe I’ll remember not to throw them away. So here are the few things I managed to store from the month of January and February, some of them were Press Samples and some of them were purchased by myself and I’ll be treating them all alike.

  • Oshea Neem Clean Anti-Dandruff Shampoo: I don’t have any dandruff issue but I’ve been suffering from crazy hair fall since last May and I kept switching shampoos when nothing else was working. After trying out like 4-5 different shampoos, I purchased this one. I should also mention that I started talking BTN tablets the day I switched to this shampoo and one of them worked. Even though I don’t suffer from dandruff and this shampoo makes my hair somewhat dry (what anti-dandruff shampoo doesn’t?) I really liked it. I would love to repurchase it, maybe I’ll have to stick to a better conditioner if I do, but that’s definitely worth it.
  • Oshea PapayaClean Anti Blemish Face Wash: This was a Press Sample and I loved it. Even though it didn’t remove all the spots on my face, it did lighten them to an extent. I still have another one in my mum’s cabinet, it somewhat lightened her stubborn blemishes too, and I will definitely purchase it in the future.
  • Natural Bath & Body Deep Cleansing Charcoal Face Wash: I love this brand. I have tried so many products from them and loved them all. This Charcoal Face Wash looks like a replicate of the Korean Foaming Cleansers. Only the pump stopped working before even I reached half the bottle. I really liked it, but I guess it’s not worth repurchasing considering the fact that I am yet to try out other cleansers from this brand. However I will definitely try the other products from their charcoal range.
  • Lass Spring Mist: How sad! I ran out of a spring mist at the crack of spring. I loved this toner mist. Considering the fact that I am stocked with toners and mist at the moment, I won’t be purchasing it (it was a Press Sample) anytime soon, but I will definitely recommend it.
  • Lotus Professional Clarifying And Soothing Toner: Yes I ran out of two toners in two months. On my defense, there was a little left on this bottle and I decided to use it up to clear some space in my dresser. I still have another bottle of it; probably will run out next month.
  • Innisfree Canola Honey Serum: Probably the only product that made me sad by running out and I wasn’t happy to get a spare space on my dresser. I REALLY LOVED IT. Will definitely repurchase and recommend.
  • Votre White Essence Cream: It had SPF and all, but I won’t repurchase.
  • Taiyu Silk Cream: My night time essential. My mom has stocked up on like 10-15 tubes of these for me and my sister. When it comes to night time regimen, I stick to it.
  • Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Lime, Rose, Collagen and in memories of those thrown away: It’s no secret I love sheet masks. Among these the Collagen was my favourite. I might repurchase in bulks.
  • Herb Boutique Bath Salt: It was a press sample. The first time I used it, I loved it. The second time I used it (after months) the fragrance was gone. I don’t think I’ll purchase it, but the other products sent by the brands are amazing.
  • Seasoul Anti-Tan Body Butter Lavender: It was a 2015 Christmas gift from the brand and I loved it. It was my best friend throughout the winter. I will definitely repurchase and recommend.
  • Lotus Compact Powder: The only makeup product I ran out. I didn’t really run out of it. It fell, and broke, but didn’t break my heart.
  • Innisfree Water Glow Cushion: I honestly had mixed feelings for running out of this one. I mean I loved it so much that I should have cried for running out of it. But then another part of me really wanted to try out other cushion compacts. I was also thinking of trying out some Non-Korean Cushion compacts to do a compared post no matter how much I try sticking to only Korean products. I haven’t made my mind yet on what cushion compact to choose next

So that was all the empties from the last two months. Hopefully I won’t forget to store the empties from now on. Also these posts might encourage me to use up all the products hanging in there to be finished up, so that I can make some room in my dresser, and my cabinet and my night stand.

Hope you enjoyed the post. Do let me know if you would love reading more of them in the future.

Till then

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Rice Sleeping Pack Review

Hello everybody, today I’ll be reviewing the Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack in rice which is a repeat purchase from Innisfree. I bought it for the first time during my Delhi trip last year and I was so in love that I ordered it again when Innisfree launched at Nykaa. I’ve been reading about the benefits of sleeping packs ever since I got introduced to K-Beauty and it’s the first one I tried, so far the best one as well.

Sleeping packs are twice a week alternatives for night creams which are supposed to be left on overnight and wash off in the morning with regular cleanser followed by the morning routine. So while you sleep, your skin absorbs all the goodness and you wake up with a well-behaved skin. Sleep packs often come with anti-aging benefits, and just like any other beauty products, different sleep packs offer different treatments.

My love for rice products are no secret, they are so purifying and provides such an amazing brightening effect, I’ve used rice masks from Etude House, Tonymoly, Skinfood, Innisfree and loved the ALL, none of them disappointed me.

What it is

A capsule recipe containing rice to brighten your skin
1. Brighten and nourish your skin using rice ingredients.
2. Enriched sizzling formation provides skin solutions.
3. A night pack that you apply and allow to absorb overnight.

How to use
  1. Massage an appropriate quantity into you face as the last step of your skincare regime. Rinse off with warm water when you wake up the following morning. Choose the capsule that best suits your skin.
    2. Insert the lid into the slit of the container and close it to keep it fresh for your next use.

The order I follow: (For night time regimen)

  1. Oil cleanser
  2. Foaming Cleanser
  3. Exfoliator (twice a week)
  4. Wash off mask (twice a week)
  5. Toner
  6. Serum
  7. Sheet Mask (twice or more a week)
  8. Sleep Pack (Twice a week, and a night cream the rest of the week)
  9. Eye cream

Pretty intense, huh? However I don’t really follow all the steps every day and there are days I follow only 4-5 steps. Surprisingly, the longer my regimen is, the more I enjoy my routine.

My experience with the Rice Sleeping Pack:

As I told you, it was my first sleeping pack and I did not know what to expect. The product looks like a yummy rice pudding, white sticky and smelled sweet. Luckily, it does not feel sticky on the face. Even if it does, the feeling will go away within minutes. It gets absorbed in my skin with light massaging without leaving any oily residue. The following morning I wake up to a nice plumped up and brightened skin. I’ve been using it twice a week and my skin has been looking noticeably radiant and even. No wonder I repurchased it and will be repurchasing again.

As I earlier mentioned that Innisfree has improved the packaging of the capsule recipe packs and they are now way too easy to store. The previous pack lasted me for like 5-6 usages.

Will I recommend it?

Yes. It comes in a tiny tub for just 150 bucks, so you can try it once for yourself without digging a hole in your pocket.

  • Nice fragrance
  • Pocket Friendly

Oshea Herbals Neempure Anti Acne And Pimple Face Wash Review

You know one of those times when a brand sends you some press samples and you fall in love with them so bad that you end up ordering more products from them? So a similar scene happened down here after I was sent some stuffs from Oshea Herbals. One of the products I purchased from them happens to be Oshea Neempure Anti-Acne And Pimple Face Wash.

I’ve earlier mentioned that I thankfully don’t breakout much except for those hormonal days. I’ve been getting 1 cystic acne every month over the last 1 and half years and the terrible spot they are leaving are bothering me too much. I cannot use spot treatments because my skin reacts terribly when I use Retinol. In fact retinol is the reason I started breaking out in the first place but that’s another story.  Let’s get down to the Neempure Face Wash Review.

Now the mentioned face wash doesn’t necessarily claim anything besides battling acne and pimple, so it didn’t have much work on my skin except for just those days. I’ve never used any acne products in the past because I do not get them very frequently, thus I was sceptical if it will be able to battle something that’s a complete internal issue. The reason why we breakout during those days is because of the excessive oil production which results in pore clogging thus acne. The best I could have done was to exfoliate my face to unclog the pores, use a detox mask and switch to anti-acne products which is supposed to battle acne, maybe by removing the excess oil from my face? And I am very disappointed to say that this face wash has failed to battle the only acne I get each month. I used this over 2 months, while my other techniques seemed to work a little better, this one did not. It did however successfully remove the excess oil from my face, and my skin was behaving a little better than the other months during those days but the acne did peep. I guess it might work better on beauties who suffer from pimples throughout, especially because of oily skin. But it certainly does not battle hormonal acnes.

Price: 160 Rs for 120 gm

Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick – 10 Drop Dead Red: Review And Swatch

You guys are probably aware of my love for Sugar Cosmetics product, especially their Scarlett O’hara from their Matte As Hell range. I have been looking for a perfect liquid matte for some time now and I was overjoyed to find out that they were launching a Liquid Matte range. I was about to order some from the range but got terribly busy and by the time I got myself to order some I found out that I can choose one with my February Fab Bag. I actually wanted a Nude one but at the moment my love for Scarlet O’hara took over me and I chose the Drop Dead Red which is somewhat similar to the former one.

Product Description:

A  showstopper red that will never go out of style – Drop Dead Red is your weapon of choice if you’re ready to make a statement wherever you go and a bold one at that!

Get a full-blooded burst of pigment with just a single swipe of the SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick that will stay the day and right up till the night! Wine, coffee & date-proof – this is a matte lipstick that is guaranteed to last longer that your longest day. Available in 10 stunning shades that will make it difficult to choose – the question is, are you ready to commit to a lipstick that is built to last?

How to Apply: For precise application, apply it to your bottom lip first and then tend to your upper lip. Since the formula is very pigmented, we suggest applying the colour to the bottom lip first, pressing your lips together and then filling in your Cupid’s bow.

Benefits: The SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick gives you opaque pigmentation with a single swipe that stays all day with zero feathering or fading.  Our favourite mattifying fix contains a generous helping of Vitamin E and comes in a full range of 10 gorgeous shades that is guaranteed to make your OOTDs stand out! This product is dermatologically tested & approved and 100% safe for your skin. Size: 4.5ml

My Experience:

As you already know that I LOVE the bold red Scarlett O’hara and the drop dead red is a lot alike. Neverthless, I am in love with this shade as well. The lipstick is super pigmented and just one swipe is enough. It takes a little time to set down in a complete matte finish. Once it’s set it won’t smudge, it won’t transfer and it won’t bleed. Some people might find it drying on their lips but it isn’t an issue for me because I exfoliate my lips religiously and I practically live on lip butters. However, if someone finds it drying on my lips, they should apply a lip balm before applying it.

I have bragged about the staying power of Scarlett O’hara often and who knew that Sugar Cosmetics can provide us with even a better staying power? I mean it doesn’t fade at all. Throughout the time I wore it there wasn’t any difference, it survived basically everything. (I’m yet to test the date-proof claim 😉 ). Removing it however is a task in itself. I don’t usually use a makeup remover; my Tonymoly Cleansing Oil removes even the last trace of makeup before I use a foaming cleanser. With this little baby I had to take a little more effort, it took me an entire wet wipe to soften just the lipstick (no eye makeup or face makeup, just the lips). Whereas I use only 2-3 drops of cleansing oil for my entire face and neck, this time I had to mercilessly pump a handful of oil (after the wet wipes was done). Lastly, the foaming cleanser removed the last trace of it. Phew! I might love it, but definitely not going through this effort every single day.

Overall, there’s no question of not loving it. This is probably the best thing sitting in my dresser right now. However, whenever I require a little drama on my lips for a shorter amount of time and there’s no meal or date involved, I will opt for the Scarlet O’hara instead. Not that Scarlett O’hara smudges, but I don’t think that much of an effort is worth to remove the lipstick if am are wearing it for just a few hours. Also, it can be a little tough wearing it, whereas the Scarlett O’hara is super easy to wear (it’s a crayon after all), the Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick on the contrary takes a very sincere application. Since it’s super-pigmented, one wrong swipe and you can mess up the whole face of makeup, exactly what happened to me while I was doing my cupid’s bow. I really hope that Sugar Cosmetics comes up with a lip liner range that matches the liquid lipstick shades.

Will I recommend it?

YASSSS! I am already craving the whole range right now. I will definitely recommend it to anyone. I know removing it takes a little effort but I guess with a makeup remover it’s much easier.

February Fab Bag 2017 Review

This month’s Fab bag contained something I was gonna purchase anyway – the newly launched SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick. The bag may be worth just 1,227 bucks, but there isn’t one product that didn’t impress me. So without wasting any more time let’s take a peak…

SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick- Drop Dead Red- (Full Size- Rs.499/-)

I had the option to choose and I chose the Drop Dead Red. I am so loving this shade and dying to compare it with Scarlet O’Hara.

Matra Hollistic Lip Care- Strawberry (Full Size Rs.199)

I’ve been talking about humectants free lip products lately, and now there’s one more in my collection.

Just Herbs Livelyclean Honey Exfoliating Face Cleansing Gel (Rs.230 for 50ml):

I LOVE Just Herbs products and I just can’t wait to test and review this one.

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Full Size. Rs 299/-)

I’ve never used a dry shampoo before and I was really looking forward to try one. So guess who’s happy?

Overall, I really liked this month’s contains. If we talk about the bag itself, I think I have got a similar one from Fab Bag before, it’s quirky and fun. The overall worth of the bag is less than other months, but in case you were looking forward to get your hands on the new launch from SUGAR, this is the best way to get one.

Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling that I have been using over the last 2 years. It’s basically the 3rd Korean Skincare product I have tried. That was months before I started blogging. Had I known back then that I will be reviewing this product someday and will be sticking with the single bottle for the next two years I would not have thrown the carton away. I technically didn’t throw it away; I just didn’t carry it with me when I moved.

The fact that I have been loyal to this product for so long has already given the spoiler alert that I really like it. Yes 2 years is a long time for a bottle to last, but considering the fact that it’s an exfoliator and I use it only once a week, sometimes testing other exfoliators in between and most importantly just a tiny amount is enough to exfoliate the whole face and neck, it sounds pretty logical that I haven’t ran out of the bottle yet.

Back when I was obsessing over getting my hands on K-beauty products, I remember my then colleagues warning me that maybe it’s not for Indian skin and weather. K-beauty wasn’t even a thing in our country back then. But I went ahead anyway and took the risk of trying 3 Korean products at one go. Charlotte Cho from Sokoglam had generously sent me a package of Tonymoly Brightening Cleansing Oil, Skinfood Tea Tree Bubble Cleansing Foam and lastly Goodal Phytowash along with a Missha Essence Sample that I immediately fell in love with. My brain screamed at me to try 1 product each day since I was trying K-beauty for the first time but my heart (and my skin) just couldn’t resist. I applied the 4 products one by one, and out of all the 4 products the Phytowash was the only product I was a little sceptical about and once you look at the ingredient list you’ll understand why.

Ingredients: Water, Lauryl Glucoside, Glycerin, Yerba Mate (Ilex Paraguariensis) Leaf Extract, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene, Ethyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Ethyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide DEA, Polyacrylamide, Triethanolamine, Betaine, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Phenoxyethanol, PVP, Salicylic Acid, Laureth-7, Olive (Olea Europaea) Fruit Oil, Allantoin, Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis) Peel Oil, Lavendin (Lavandula Hybrida) Oil, Lime (Citrus Aurantifolia) Oil, Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao) Extract, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Black Currant (Ribes Nigrum) Seed Oil, Bergamot (Citrus Aurantium Bergamia) Fruit Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Orange (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis) Fruit Extract, Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis) Fruit Extract, Rose (Rosa Damascena) Flower Oil, Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Anise (Illicium Verum) Fruit/Seed Oil, Coriander (Coriandrum Sativum) Fruit Oil, Sage (Salvia Officinalis) Oil, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Matricaria (Chamomilla Recutita) Flower Extract, Camu Camu (Myrciaria Dubia) Fruit Extract, Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia) Fruit Extract, Sandalwood (Santalum Album) Oil, Brazil Nut (Bertholletia Excelsa) Seed Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Murumuru (Astrocaryum Murumuru) Seed Butter, Cupuacu (Theobroma Grandiflorum) Seed Butter

I mean that’s a scary long list, and according to my CosDNA analysis, there’s some irritants sitting comfortably in the list. Cocamide DEA and Salicylic Acid shows ref flag. If that wasn’t enough, here’s a list of acne irritants –

Sodium Laureth Sulfate 3/5 Acne

Triethanol amine 2/5 Ance

Olive Fruit Oil 2/5 Acne

Butylene Glycol 1/5 Acne

Now let’s come to the sensitive skin part- SLS 2/ irritant.

Coming to the impressive ingredients found in the list…

Yerba Mate: Known as God’s drink, contains 50 types of minerals and vitamins. Some of its known benefits are: anti-aging, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, brightens complexion, lightens scar, improve skin texture and retains moisture.

Glycerine: We know the benefits right? They are super moisturizing and protects the skin against irritation.

Salicylic acid: The chemical exfoliator. They remove dead skin, increases cell turnover, reduces inflammation, opens up pore, breaks down sebum in pore and increases collagen production.

Product Description: An exfoliator with an exciting twist, it bubbles! This nutritious exfoliator is made into a creamy serum that transforms into a foaming peel. It contains hypoallergenic grains that can remove dead skin cells. It can cleanse and detoxify the pores without stripping the skin of its essential moisture. The exfoliator promotes healthy skin and vitality while hydrating it. It can protect the skin from environmental stress that can cause premature aging. The exfoliator is formulated with Yerba Mate, which is known as ‘God’s Drink’. It is a tea that contains polyphenol, saponin, and vitamins that can help to recharge tired and fatigued skin.

To Use: Use 1 to 2 times a week. Use the exfoliator as the last step of your evening cleansing routine. Dispense 1 to 2 pumps of the product and spread it over a dry or slightly moistened face. Wait 1 to 2 minutes until the product transforms into a light layer of foam. Gently massage the foam with fingertips for 15 to 20 seconds. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. For optimal results, use a sheet mask after the exfoliator.

My experience:

Applying this exfoliator is a delight in itself, not to mention effortless as well. You apply a thin layer of the gel exfoliator on wet skin and it bubbles up all over your face (how I wish I had a hand model for the demo pics). Since the exfoliator contains both Salicylic acid and micro beads, it works both as a chemical exfoliator and a physical exfoliator. It also doesn’t require exfoliating too much. After the gel transfers into a thick layer of bubble you just need to massage your face for 30 seconds and rinse.

As I said that I’ve been using this exfoliator for around 2 years now and thankfully the culprit ingredients did my skin no harm. My skin looks visibly smooth and clean after each time I use it. Like I repeatedly say, I sheetmask post exfoliating, and this is the usual exfoliator I use and the duo works amazing on my skin.

Will I repurchase it?

Absolutely! It’s the best exfoliater I’ve used so far. May be I won’t repurchase right after finishing this one, because as you guys know I like experimenting and I might want to try out a new one, but I will surely get it back in my stash in near future.

Will I suggest it?

May be it’s not a best idea for the sensitive skin beauties. I am cursed with a hyper-sensitive skin myself and luckily it didn’t react badly on my skin, doesn’t mean it won’t on you. I’ve explained the goods and the bads and if you think that none of the above mentioned ingredients reacts badly on your skin, or if you are not cursed with a sensitive skin at all, then there’s a high chance you are going to find your Holy Grail exfoliator when you try this one.

Nykaa Paintstix – Tender Rose 05 Review And Swatch

So Nykaa launched yet another range of lipsticks and I had to get my hands on them. Unfortunately, none of the shades succeeded in winning my heart. I know there are people who are going to be super impressed with some of the quirky shades available, but I am not one of them. Since you guys might know that I’m not huge on colour cosmetics, I mean I have self control while shopping for them unlike my guiltless lust over skincare products.  With summer approaching I am really looking forward to purchase some nice nude lipsticks but when I checked the range I was a bit disappointed to discover that the nude shades from these range is too dark for my skin. I know they have created the range keeping in mind our Indian skin tone, but I thought it was still too dark for my wheatish skin. I wasn’t very impressed with the other shades as well but I had to choose one because I really wanted to. I went for the Tender Rose even though I wasn’t looking for a pink shade.

How the website says it looks

How it actually looks

My experience:

The texture of the lipstick is creamy and the pigmentation is super amazing. Just one swipe is all it takes to create fuller lips.

The lipstick comes in a cylindrical shape and glides in smoothly. I have worn it only once, not for too long (4hrs) and it behaved well until I removed it myself. However, it did transfer a little.

The colour is a glamorous pinkish mauve (almost similar to the Mad Magenta from Sugar Cosmetics) which I won’t choose to wear unless I am heading to a party. It will definitely complement ethnic wears to its extent.

The lipstick doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and just like it claims feels really soft.

  • Creamy
  • Super pigmented
  • Long lasting
  • Pocket Friendly
  • Glides Smoothly

  • Not a huge fan of the shades from this range
  • Transfers a little

Remember the So Matte! range launched by Nykaa? I will suggest sticking with that one unless you really love any shade from this range.

It’s Real Squeeze Mask-Strawberry Review

My reviews of Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask range has almost come to an end. After reviewing a lot of my amazing finds from the range I will share a disappointment today- Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Strawberry. I have reviewed almost every mask from the range (except for the bija) and I guess you guys are quite familiar with the range, so this one is going to be real quick.

What it is

Get supple and translucent skin with the strawberry It’s real squeeze mask!

1. It’s real squeeze mask – strawberry
Strawberry helps make your skin bright and supple.

2. Jeju green complex
The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.

3. Triple-layered sheet
This triple-layer sheet has a long-lasting moisturizing effect so that the essence can gradually be absorbed into the skin.

How to use

  1. After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture.
    2. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas.
    3. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your skin.

Price:  100Rs

Where to buy?

My Experience:

As usual I used the sheet mask post exfoliating and kept it on for about 30 minutes. The sheet was soaked in a LOT of essence and the fitting was just like any other mask from the range-almost perfect. Upon removing the mask my skin was excessively moisturized. The essence on my face took a lot of time to absorb unlike any other sheet mask. My skin was immensely hydrated and moisturized throughout the following days. It has to be the best moisturizing mask from the range. However, having a combination skin, moisturization is not one of my concerns and I was a bit disappointed as it did not do anything besides moisturizing. It claims brightening but I did not notice any. So overall, it can be an amazing mask for dry skin beauties but for combination and oily skin beauties might not be as impressed.

  • Does not brighten.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask – Pomegranate Review

Hey guys, I haven’t reviewed any K-beauty products for a while and I’m here to compensate for that. Today I’ll be reviewing the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Pomegranate. Now even though my first concern while sheet masking is brightness, I am well aware that it’s about time I start using anti-aging products as well. To be very honest, I haven’t incorporated any anti-aging products in my regimen permanently but from time to time I indulge in firming treatments- like sheet masks and facials and stuff. Pomegranate is known for its skin firming benefits and thus it had its due share in my regimen.

MRP 100rs

Where to buy:

My Experience:

Just like any other sheet mask, I used it after exfoliating my skin and kept it on for about 30 minutes. The fitting was a little terrible than the other sheet masks from the same range which is weird. The mask was still wet while I took it off and my face was immensely hydrated and supple. There was no brightening effect and the product did not claim any. The following morning my skin was firm and nourished and behaved well for the following days.

Will I purchase it again?

Given to the fact that I haven’t started any thorough anti-aging regimen yet, I might as well take help from this mask from time to time.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who is 25+

Astaberry Pearl Facial kit Review

Hello everybody, today I am going to review the Astaberry Pearl Skin Tightning Facial kit. Astaberry has got a wide range of facial kit collection and I have already reviewed the Oxy Facial Kit which I loved dearly. The Pearl Facial kit, just like the oxy one comes in a rectangular box with a freebie Papaya Face Wash. The whole thing will last you 4-5 facials and I think for Rs.225/- it’s a great deal.

Description: This kit contains precious pearls along with Soy Protein Extract. Research has revealed that pearls contain a combination of natural substances that help to improve rejuvenation of the skin cells. This treatment is ideal to provide hydration to the skin and make it look firm, soft, smooth & young.

Key Elements: Pearl Powder, Soy Protein Extract

 Pearl Powder

Rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids.Anti-aging properties.

 Soy Protein Extract

Rich in essential amino acids. Antioxidants & anti-inflammatory agents. Helps in repair, restore & nourishment.

 Skincare Benefits:

Let your skin experience the goodness of Pearl powder with this Pearl Facial Kit from Astaberry.

Improves Skin Moisturization

The rich formulation of wine in this facial kit adds the desired amount of moisture and makes your skin soft and supple.

Replenish Depleted Moisture

This facial depletes the lost moisture of your skin and nourishes it in the most unique way.

Everlasting Glow and Fairness

This facial allows to pamper your skin providing a soothing effect and leaves your skin more beautiful than before. You can get that instant glow and fair skin with this facial kit.

 How I use it:

Gel Cleanser: The cleanser is a shimmery gel and doesn’t foam up. I end up using so much of the gel every time that I worry that I will run out of it while the other contains will be good to go for a couple of more usages. I massage the gel for 2 minutes and wash it off with cold water (even though the instruction asks for wiping with a piece of cloth)

Scrub: The scrub comes with a white creamy textures and tiny granules. Now you guys are aware of my love for scrubs and exfoliators that comes with tiny granules because big granules can permanently damage the skin. I massage the scrub on my entire face and neck for 2-3 minutes and wash it off.

Massage Cream: I let my skin cool down for a couple of minutes and massage my face with the massage cream using my finger tips in a circular motion for around 10 minutes. The massage cream is white and thick in texture and a coin size amount is required to massage the entire face and neck.

Pack: After whipping away the excess cream I apply a thick layer of the pack on my face and neck and wash it off with cold water after 10 minutes.

My experience:

The facial kit certainly does not provide the super brightening and lightening effect I enjoyed with the Oxy Facial Kit. However, my skin feels noticeably firm and tight after using this facial kit. That’s right, the Box mentions anti-aging benefits over and over again and that part of the claim proved to be true. Even though the ‘glow’ wasn’t as noticeable as the Oxy Facial kit, I would still recommend this facial kit to anyone who is 25+.

Oshea Cocoa Honey Moisturising Lotion Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Oshea Herbals Cocoa Honey Moisturizing Lotion that I have been using for the past couple of weeks. Now I usually did not have any good experience with face lotions in the past, even the Korean ones gave me pimples. So I was a little sceptical about this lotion but went ahead considering that I have never been disappointed with any Oshea Products (neither with the brands whose lotions broke me out).

What Oshea Cocoa Honey Moisturising Lotion claims?
Cocoa Honey Moisturizing Lotion for the face with 2X moisturizing level to ensure moisture during harsh winter.

Added with Cocoa Butter and Honey as an active ingredient, this face moisturizer intends skin moisture retention and elasticity. Licorice and Aloevera extracts in the lotion promote fairer and glowing skin.

Moreover, it works as a protective lotion and maintains the PH balance of the skin. It is nongreasy moisturizing lotion with quick penetration formula that provides soft, silky and smooth skin.

Price and quantity

Rs.225 for 120 ml

Shelf life: 3 years from manufacturing

My Experience:

Looking for the perfect day cream is a mission I have taken up some times ago. Some is too greasy, some doesn’t hydrate enough. My initial impression upon my first usage of this Cocoa Honey Lotion was terrific. I thought that this could have been my Holy Grail day cream if it contained a little SPF. I do wear sun block separately but when I go out I layer the SPF like – Day Cream with SPF- Sun Block – Compact Powder with SPF to ensure extra sun protection. The moisturizer is too mild for night time usages but perfect for the day time since it doesn’t make the skin feel greasy and feels light on the skin. So of course an added usage of Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide would have been perfect.

The texture is neither too runny nor too thick and absorbs into the skin pretty easily. On my combination skin 2 to 3 pumps are enough to moisturize my face and my neck. Dry Skin beauties might not be very satisfied with this mild moisturizer but it’s really perfect for combination skin (and oily skin may be?). Over the past couple of weeks I’ve grown only one acne but it took its first peak the evening after I took a 9 hours of road trip, so I’m blaming the travel for the acne instead of this little baby.

The aroma is pretty good too, smells mildly of cocoa which I love. Apart from the amazing hydration and moisturization it provides, there arenot much noticeable changes in my skin tone. Because it contains liquorice I was expecting a little brightened skin tone but I’ve been disappointed regarding that so far.

Will I purchase it again?

I don’t know. The bottles are going to last me long considering the amount am using once a day. And then you guys know I how love experimenting and trying out new products so I might not repurchase. Had it contained a little SPF I would have

Will I recommend it?

Top Six Pink Lip Shades

With Valentine’s Day approaching I thought it will be only appropriate to share my top 6 Favourite Pink Lipsticks. I have earlier shared my favourite reds and favourite fall shades and now it’s about time I share my favourite pinks as well. I’ve already reviewed most of them, so here I’ll be jotting them down together all in one place, from drug store brands to hi-end brands, from nude pinks to the bold ones.

So without wasting any more of our precious times, let’s get to the shades.

  • MAC All Fired Up: MRP 1450 Rs

It’s a pretty Fuschia Pink that lasts really long. I have reviewed it already which you can read here: Mac All Fired Up Lipstick Review and Swatch

  • Sugar Cosmetics It’s A Pout Time Mad Magenda: MRP 599rs

A glamorous pink that I LOVE wearing with ethnics. It sure looks good with western outfits as well, but I prefer it even more with ethnics.

Review:Sugar Cosmetics It’s A-Pout Time Lipstick Review: Mad Magenta

  • Be A Bombshell Lip Stain Riot: MRP 750rs

Even though I love lip stains, this one’s not one of my own preferences. It’s feels like a sketch pen while applying and it’s a pain applying it. However, since the shade’s too pretty and the staying power is absolutely mind blowing (like any other lips stains) I included it in my favourites since I wear it when I need something that will last a whole day and survive a couple of meals.

  • Lakme 9 To 5 Roseate Motive: MRP 450 RS

Probably the only lipstick I bought thrice. It used to be my favourite during my working days. Now for a girl who loves experimenting with new shades, I guess purchasing a single shade thrice is a quite a compliment.

Where to buy: Purple, Nykaa

  • Sugar Cosmetics Lip Crayon Rose Dawson: MRP 799rs

I have been talking about this shade for quite some time now. I am literally obsessed with this shade and wearing it pretty much everywhere. My sister borrowed it once and asked me to order one for her as well. And trust me; rarely any shade compliments both of our complexions.

Review: Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Rose Dawson Review, Swatch

  • Sugar Cosmetics Peachy Little Liars: MRP 599 rs

Being a huge Pretty Little Liars fan, I fell for the name, and then I fell for the shade. It’s a pretty nude with a pink undertone. I am going to wear it all summer.

So that’s all of my pink favourites. If you ask me which one’s am going to wear this valentine’s day I might have to say that I’ll have to choose one between the MAC and Rose Dawson, that is if I make any plans at. Do you guys have any plans? Would love to read yours 🙂
