10 years back when I first got into Korean skincare, I was equally inspired by Japanese Skincare. Despite their many differences, they have so many similarities. One of them being the double cleansing method.

The Importance of Double Cleansing:

To achieve flawless, glowing skin, double cleansing should be made a rule of thumb. While the first, oil-based cleanser breaks down the make-up, dirt, and excess oil, the second cleanser removes any trace left behind.

Personally, I love double cleansing even when I’m not wearing make-up because a lot of the gunks from inside my pores tend to unclog while using an oil cleanser.

DHC Double Cleansing Duo:

DHC is a Japanese skincare brand whose entire line is founded on the principles and benefits of olive oil. The company is driven by the concept of traditional Japanese aesthetics known as wabi-sabi.

The cleansing duo consists of DHC Deep Cleansing Oil And DHC Powder Face Wash.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil:

Cleansing oils work by binding dirt, sebum and other impurities on the skin and lifting them while they rince off. When I first started my skincare journey, I used to use a cleansing oil only when I wore makeup or when I would follow my pore shrinking regimen. Eventually, I realized that even when am using it after an entire day at home, as a first step of my routine, they still take off the grits off my pores. So I started ranking my favorite cleansing oils by how much grits they pull away, and how much they emulsifies.

And after a 10 year of listing my favourite cleansing oils, I’ve finally come to a verdict that the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil stands at the top. It’s an olive oil based cleansing oil that’s heavy duty enough to remove even the most stubborn waterproof makeup. Yet gentle enough on the skin.

Out of all the cleansing oils that I’ve used, it has the thickest consistency. A little goes a very long way. And with a gentle massaging I can feel at least 10-12 grits coming off my pores. And let me tell you, that’s a record. Most of the other cleansing oils that I’ve used so far can pull of 2-5 grits. My pores have honestly started looking way smaller since I made it a part of my every day routine.

I believe that the gentle massaging with the cleansing oil helps with the blood circulation as my skin has been looking plump and healthy since I started using it.

DHC Powder Face Wash:

The second step of the DHC double cleansing is the powder wash. It comes in a powder form like the name suggests. You need to mix a few drops of water to make a thick paste and there you have your second cleanser.

There’s something about this powder wash that feels so pleasant to me. It cleanses my skin thoroughly without drying out my face. When I started using it, a beauty testing went terribly wrong and my skin was having a horrific reaction to it. Anything I was putting on my skin was only making it worse. Since it’s super gently on my skin I did wash my face using it and luckily enough, it didn’t make my reaction any worse.

Bottom Line:

Overall, I loved both the cleansing oil and the powder wash. And with the cleansing oil, I think I may have found my staple. I actually got a great deal on the duo. I bought these two products along with two deluxe size Belif samples at just 899INR and I also got another cleansing oil free with the bundle. I think I may have won jackpot with it. While the deluxe size powder wash lasted me about a week, the cleansing oil however will last me way longer. Maybe months, and I have two of them. A week after I bought the kit, they were providing a free powder wash instead of the cleansing oil and that was an even better deal.
