Goodal Green Tangerine Vita C Serum Review

Vitamin C- that one solution for all your skin woes. From reducing dark spots to fighting aging signs, Vitamin C can do it all. And all that without having any harmful effect on your skin. The first time I became hooked with Vitamin C was during my pregnancy when I had to eliminate a handful of ingredients from my routine. On top of that, I was suffering from pregnancy melasma. After doing my fair share of research it turned out that Vitamin C is the safest and most potent ingredient to treat pregnancy melasma. Unfortunately, my hypersensitive skin doesn’t react well to most vitamin c out there in the market. So when Maccaron contacted me to review the Goodal Green Tangerine Vita C Dark Spot Serum Plus Set I was more than eager to try it.

About The Brand Goodal:

I have always had a soft spot for Goodal as it’s one of the first K-Beauty brands that I’ve ever tried. 8 long years and they have never failed to amaze me. Goodal combines Traditional Korean Fermentation with modern technology to create clean beauty products without the use of harmful chemicals.

My Experience With Goodal Green Tangerine  Vita C Serum:

In my previous posts, I mentioned how I started suffering from hormonal acne ever since I started having my periods post-delivery. I have been getting one right before my periods and another during my ovaluation days. These cystic acnes often leave behind stubborn marks on my cheeks which lingers for months. And on top of that, my toddler shows his love towards us by scratching our faces. Since I’m the person who’s fortunate enough to receive plenty of his love my face is filled with scratch marks that can get me a role in crime thrillers.

Anyway, when I started using the Goodal Green Tangerine Vitamin C Serum, I had 2 acne spots, 1 active acne, 1 flattened acne, and 5 scratch marks on my face. On top of that my skin has lost its collagen thus making my cheeks and undereye area hollow. I mean when you ignore your skincare routine for 2 years, it does take a lot of effort to recover. And it was all the more reason that I was so eager to introduce Vitamin C into my routine given its multi-benefits.

First Impression:

The first thing I noticed after I started using the Goodal Green Tangerine Vitamin C Serum is that it didn’t irritate my hyper-sensitive skin. And within two days my active acne flattened. I kept using it religiously for a month and since then I got two more acnes that flattened right after erupting. My acne marks started lightening even though it will take a little more time for them to completely disappear.

On the brighter side, this serum helped boost collagen production and I have been flaunting bouncy cheeks ever since I introduced it to my routine. Lack of collagen and elasticity has been bothering me for some time and I’m glad to have found a product that works for me.

So while I was testing this product I went overboard with the vitamin c quite a few times. I have a portion control problem and there were many times when I accidentally pumped out way more product than needed and ended up slathering it on my face anyway because I’d hate to see it going to waste. It sure was a stupid move as my skin ended up breaking out right away. And to make the matter worse I did actually use a BHA cleanser in the same routine a few times. You know, mom brain! So that sums up why my skin broke out right before Christmas.
I stopped using any powerful ingredients for about a week and when it seemed that my skin wasn’t being attacked with any new acnes I slowly re-introduced the Vitamin C Serum into my routine. By this point, my face was plagued with multiple acne and scratch marks. So the Vitamin C Serum has so much work to do this time. I stuck to using only two pumps on my face and two pumps on my neck. I always make sure to provide extra care to my neck and shoulder as that’s where the aging signs first appears.

This time my skin didn’t break out and the acne marks slowly started to heal. The very last acne that I got still looks horrible but the rest have almost disappeared.

Apart from the Serum, the kit contains another serum sample, a Vita C Cream, and a Vitamin C Sheet Mask. I haven’t used the cream yet since I’m scared of using 2 Vitamin C products in the same routine. But the sheetmask is bomb and brightened my skin instantly.

Overall,

I’m extremely satisfied with the Goodal Green Tangerine Vita C Spot Serum. It not only lightened my acne marks. But promoted my skin’s collagen production at the same time. The Vitamin C Sheetmask brightened my skin immensely. And I couldn’t be happier to have found a Vita C product that works for me.
