Koko Chemistry Niacinamide Serum Review
Out of all the skin concerns I have ever had, brightening is a constant one. Even a few months back my concern was to undo all the damages that the past 2 years of lack of skincare did. But once my skin started getting better, I began looking forward to introducing a brightening serum to my skin. While the rest of my routine was focusing on anti-aging products, I was looking forward to dedicating 1 step solely for brightening and I was thinking a Niacinamide serum.
Just when I was researching the best brands, Koko Chemistry reached out to me to ask me if I would like to try their Niacinamide serum. As if the stars have aligned for me the first time in a while. What a timing, huh? What drew my interest towards their brand was that they have no expectations from their side as to what deliverables I’ll provide them with. That one line in their mail told me that their brand is worth it. You wanna know why? Often times I get collaboration requests where I have to turn down their offer just because of their expectations. Sometimes brands try to put words in my mouth, sometimes brands tell me to put up the post within 48hrs after receiving the products. And basically, I turn down the offers when I know I have to lie without actually trying out the product.
That’s where Koko Chemistry stands out. They didn’t give me any time constraints. In fact, they didn’t even tell me if they want a social media post or a full blog review. And that’s how I knew that these people are actually pretty confident about their product and they are actually worth it.
Within a few days after providing them with my address, a compact package was on my doorstep. Inside was the product with 3 cards. One of those cards was a hand-written note, another was one with my Referral code, and the last one- a detailed description of the product and how to use it.
Here’s what the brand has to claim about their Niacinamide Serum:
A multi-tasking super serum that has exceptional skin-restoring properties and the ability to treat problematic skin.
It effectively minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores, post breakout marks and hyperpigmentation all while targeting multiple signs of ageing to dramatically improve the skin’s tone and texture.
This skin-friendly serum also has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe the skin, reduce redness and balance sebum production, making it a very effective treatment for mild to moderate acne.

My Experience With KoKo Chemistry Niacinamide Serum:
When I received the Koko Chemistry Niacinamide 10% Facial Serum I have already battled all other skin woes. My horrible pregnancy and motherhood had taken a huge toll on my skin. My skin had lost its elasticity, I had pregnancy hyper-pigmentation, severely dull and dehydrated skin, and a lot of deep scratch scars that Seiji left me with. Within a few weeks, after I started taking care of my skin, a lot of these problems started disappearing, while facial yoga took care of the lost elasticity and volume.
What lingered was 2 deep scratch marks and a bit of darkened skin. That’s where the Koko Chemistry Niacinamide 10% Facial Serum comes in. I use it after toner and before my moisturizer. Even though the brand says it can be used both during the day and the night. I prefer using it only during the day as I use a Vitamin C serum during the night. There are contradictory studies, while some say these 2 ingredients go fine together, others say they don’t really go. And I like to play it safe.
The serum comes in a compact bottle with a push pump that dispenses the exact amount required. The first thing that I noticed is that the serum does not smell nice. It smells like herbal medicine and is quite strong. While I am not an expert, it might be the witch hazel. And then again, the fragrance is one of the base ingredients of the products.
Anyway, I ignore the strong fragrance and apply it to my skin. It has a milky texture that glides smoothly within the skin without any sign of greasiness. The next step feels like heaven. Within a few days, my skin started looking a lot brighter and even. And the scratch scars started fading as well. My skin started looking soft, supple, and bouncy. When I resumed my skincare routine post-partum, the goal was to become confident without makeup. And while I was almost there, this serum just got me there. Did I mention that I stopped wearing foundation?
That’s right! I have been dedicating a lot of time to my skin and it started paying off. If I go out or shoot during the day I wear a cushion foundation. And if I go out or shoot during the night time I just apply a little translucent powder under my eyes. A couple of months back this would not have been possible.
While I won’t dedicate this serum entirely to this skin achievement, it definitely played its part. I was looking forward to adding a niacinamide serum to my routine and the Koko chemistry one has definitely been the right choice. I am so hooked with this product that I am eager to try its sister serum- which is a vitamin C one.
Overall, I am greatly enjoying this serum and will recommend it to anyone looking to add a serum to their regimen.
