We all find ourselves needing to take a hiatus from time to time. Sometimes the stresses of everyday life can tire us out, or perhaps you’ve been through a tough time in other aspects of your life. Or maybe, you simply just want to clear your mind and re-balance yourself.

Whatever it is, you don’t really need an excuse. A relaxing break away from the usual can do us all a world of good. Getting away to a tranquil destination can be nourishing for the mind, body, and soul.

A change of scenery can help us with a new perspective that we need from time to time. See what destinations we’ve chosen for you to treat yourself to a beautiful and relaxing retreat.

1. Reykjavik//Iceland

Iceland is one of the most unique and beautiful countries you can go to in the northern hemisphere. Best known for its display of Aurora Borealis, aka the Northern Lights, a trip here will be unforgettable.

A lot is going on in the wonderful area of Reykjavik including a cute little town, the Golden Circle tour – with waterfalls and large water geyser visits- and of course the Blue Lagoon.

Reykjavik is a peaceful and unmistakably gorgeous place of natural beauty. The Blue Lagoon is a must for your retreat away from home. With a large lagoon heated by geothermal activity, the water revitalizes your hair and skin. It is so delightful, you won’t want to leave.

3. Mostar//Bosnia and Herzegovina

The infamous Kravica Waterfalls are an experience not to miss Just 40 kilometres south of Mostar, you can enjoy the lush aesthetic of the flowing waterfalls. It’s also the idyllic place to take a swim amongst the streams, and let yourself float away…

4. Bali//Indonesia

More than likely, we all have known people going on holiday to this divine island. Now, it can be you. Bali is definitely the place that you only have to hear about to get lost in the tranquillity.

This island is full of culture, exquisite greenery, exotic cuisine, and beaches that will make your heart melt. Whilst Bali has a warm and lively atmosphere, this by no means makes it a place where you won’t find peace.

5. Banff//Canada

You probably won’t quite believe you’re not dreaming when arriving at the prime spot in Banff. Although there are many prime spots in Banff, the National Park is one of the most jaw-dropping you’ll visit.

  1. Relaxation retreats will usually be in isolated places, surrounded by beautiful natural views. You may find a retreat that will take you up to the top of a mountain to see the surrounding valleys, or you may be flown to a near deserted island in the Caribbean to lay on the beach and enjoy the sound of the ocean. If you aren’t able to afford a retreat that takes you to an exotic location, you may be able to find a local retreat that will put you up in a motel for a few days and pamper you there locally.
