Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask- Rose Review

After my rant about sheet mask mistakes yesterday, I thought it would only be appropriate to review a sheet mask today. So yesterday I was going through my mask stash and since my skin wasn’t asking for anything specific yesterday I went ahead with the one much underrated by me- Innisfree It’s Real Rose Sheet Mask. I don’t know why but I really did not have too much expectation from this particular mask, but at the end of the day I was proven wrong.

What it is

Get supple and radiant skin with the rose It’s real squeeze mask!
1. It’s real squeeze mask – ros
Fragrant roses provide moisture to your skin to make it supple and smooth.
2. Jeju green complex
The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.
3. Triple-layered sheet
This triple-layer sheet has a long-lasting moisturizing effect so that the essence can gradually be absorbed into the skin.

How to use:

  1.  After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture.
    2. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas.
    3. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your skin.

Price: MRP 100Rs

Where to buy:

Ingredients list: Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, alcohol, betaine, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, rosa centifolia flower juice, xanthan gum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hyaluronate, citrus unshiu peel extact, orchid extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance

My CosDNA analysis came up pretty clean with only butylene glycol raising a low 1 potential acne trigger. But then a lot of products contains bulylene glycol and my skin never reacted badly to it.

My Experience:

It was probably the first sheet mask that I tried during my morning regimen as a part of my experiment. I’ve been reading about how K-beauty enthusiasts apply them on the morning and then finish it off with a moisturizer and then with a sunscreen and flaunt the hydration throughout the day. I kept the sheet mask on for about 30 minutes and it was still wet while I took it off. The fitting was average and the rose smell was too pleasant.

The moisturizer that I’ve been using for a couple of weeks now feels too heavy on my skin (review coming soon). So after I took off the mask my skin was immensely hydrated but after using the moisturizer I didn’t notice anything except for the hydration. After I washed my face during my night time regimen, the heavy feeling from the moisturizer went away and the radiance and brightening effect were noticeable. The hydration lingered when I woke up the next day (today) and the radiance is still noticeable while I’m writing this post, though not too dramatic but enough to make me feel guilty to avoid it for so long.

Will I purchase it again?

Sure it won’t be my first choice while sheet mask hauling the next time, but if I’m picking up a bunch, it certainly will be in my cart.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who wants moisture+hydration+radiance

5 Sheet Mask Mistakes You Are Probably Making

K-beauty is still a relatively new concept in India compared to the western world. And who can you blame? Apart from the fact that Indian Women usually don’t indulge in much skincare, India also lacks the abundance of the amazing products that South Korea has to offer. We only have Innisfree and The Face Shop (very recently launched) to at least get the idea what the ravings are all about. Sometimes we hear the ravings (and criticism) from the mouth of people who have used only a couple of products from the above mentioned brands (no disregard meant) but are yet to get their hands on the much glorious brands. No doubt, Innisfree is an excellent brand but trust me, there are much, much, much, better brands out there to experiment with. Because you can’t tell what’s really working on your skin until you have tried more than just one brand.

The reason why I’m taking my time to write this article today is because I’ve read many Indian Bloggers giving out misinformation to their readers. I am not here to name anyone bad, but since I have been indulging in Korean Skincare for over 2 years now and I have been studying about it for so long, trying out so many brands and communicating with Korean Beauty Bloggers as well as K-beauty Bloggers from different parts of the world am just using this column to share the knowledge I have gained in this two years.

Today’s post will only be about sheet masks because I have read so many misinformation regarding them and I thought that this was much needed. So here are some stuffs you need to keep in mind if you are someone who indulges in K-beauty or you are looking forward to.

  1. Do not wash your face after sheet masking:

So I was going through a very popular blog reading reviews as I sometimes do during my leisure hours and I came across an Innisfree Sheet Mask review and the blogger was actually complaining about how the moisture didn’t linger after washing her face. I mean why??? Why would you do that? Why would you waste that hard earned hydration and moisture by just washing your face. Sheet Masks are literally sheets drenched in serum or essence. Do you wash your face right after applying a serum? NO. Then why would you do that after sheet masking? You just earned your face an amazing hydration and moisture, so just enjoy it and only wash your face during your next skincare routine.

  1. Do not reuse your sheet mask:

This one I read like million times. Like people actually store that used sheet mask so when they sheet mask the next time and there’s a little serum left at the bottom of the packet, they soak the used sheet in that serum and give it to someone in the family to use. Again, why? If you are indulging in something this unhygienic and feeding your skin with so many bacteria then why would you even indulge in skincare in the first place. The first rule of thumb is to be hygienic. People who actually indulge in Korean Skincare maintain their hygiene like their religion. We don’t even put our washed fingers in products that comes in tubs, we use washed sterilized spatula to be extra careful. So just throw away that used sheet when you sheet mask the next time.

  1. Follow it up with a moisturizer:

Because sheet masks are drenched in serum, not moisturizer. Both have different tasks and your skin needs both. I don’t know how many people use a moisturizer or a night cream after sheet masking but I’ve heard a lot of people complaining that the sheet masks have made their skin sticky and greasy. Yes, because you’ve probably forgot to seal in the goodness with a layer of moisturizer. And no, an added layer doesn’t make your skin more greasy, it just locks it all in.

  1. Don’t leave it on for too long:

I’ll admit that while sheet masks are usually required to be left on for 20 minutes, I do leave them on for 30 minutes sometimes, especially if I feel that the mask is drenched in too much serum. But I do remove it while the sheet is still damp. If you leave it on until it’s completely dry, chances are that the sheet will soak back the moisture from your skin. (This point is actually made by Korean Skin Specialists)

  1. Choose the masks according to your need:

It’s a no brainer that different sheet masks target different types of skin issues like any other product. If an oily skin beauty applies a super hydrating mask, chances are she might break out or get an oiler skin. So choose according to your skin. Whatever your concerns are, there’s something for you.

i.e- Oily skin- Tea Tree Oil;  Acne Prone Skin- Tea Tree Oil, Green Tea;  Troubled/Irritated Skin- Aloe, Bija, Green Tea, Rice, Makgeolli;   25+ – Collagen, Pomegranate (firmness);   Dry skin- Manuka Honey;   Dull Irritated Skin- Green Tea;   Need Brightening- Tomato, Lemon;  Need Purification- Rice, Makgeolli, Seaweed.

To make the whole sheet mask scenario a little clearer, I am discussing how I personally apply sheet masks:

  • While most women around the world apply sheet masks during the morning skincare regimen to flaunt the hydration throughout the day, I personally use them during the night. Firstly because I’m not a morning person, secondly, I stay indoors most of the days and lastly, I feel like the serum is getting to do wonders to my skin while I sleep and I wake up the next morning with a plumped up and super hydrated skin.
  • Never apply them on an unclean face: I actually wanted it to make the 6th mistake point but then I thought that no one can actually sheet mask on a dirty face, can they? While sheet masking on an unclean face is out of question, you might even wanna exfoliate before sheet masking. It actually depends on the amount of time you are sheet masking in a week. For example- I usually sheet mask twice a week (sometimes as often as every day) and I exfoliate once a week, so once I sheet mask after exfoliation, and once after detoxifying with a charcoal pack. If you are someone who sheet mask once in a while, then try doing it post exfoliation. That way your skin can absorb the most of it.
  • Applying serums before the Sheet Mask: Just because you are sheet masking, doesn’t mean you should avoid your regular serum that day, ever heard about serum cocktails? So while the usual regimen says that the serum application goes after the sheet mask, I feel like applying the serum before the sheet mask is more beneficial. That way the goodness of the serum gets locked into the skin along with the goodness of the sheet mask. (This is actually something I learned from Jude Chao from Fifty Shades of Snails)

And lastly, read the instructions before applying the masks. You cannot make the most out of your sheet mask unless you are applying it properly. I hope these informations were helpful. Four Season Aloe Soothing Waterful Oasis Mask Review

If you guys have been reading my previous posts, you’ll know that I’ve moved back to my hometown for the summer. Leaving the city after 9 years mean a lot of moving and because I plan to be back to the city by the fall, I decided not to bring my furniture with me. So the Sunday was a hell lot of day for me. I woke up early in the morning, moved the furnitures to my boy friend’s place and some to my sister’s place and then took the rest of the belongings with me. It was a 4 hrs drive and you can only imagine how I was looking when I reached home past 11 p.m. I had no energy to even dine but still I somehow managed to bathe for the 5th time that day and when I looked at myself in the mirror I really had to do something about how I looked. So I took out the Four Season Aloe Soothing Waterful Oasis Mask I received from Skin18, threw it on my skin and crashed on the bed. If I had a little more energy I would have let it rest on the refrigerator for 10 minutes but anyhow it felt so refreshing that I was more than just thankful to Skin18 at the moment for sending me this Sheet Mask.

My Experience:

I had my eyes on this particular Sheet Mask for a very long time and I’m glad that it was included in the package I received from Skin18. So as I already told you, I applied the sheet mask after a very hectic day.  I threw it on my face, laid dead for about 30 minutes and when I walked up to the mirror to take it off and that’s when I noticed how badly it fit on my face.  I was so very tired that I didn’t really notice the immediate after effect it had on my skin but when I woke up the following morning my skin was visibly soothed, as if the moving never happened the previous day. The moving surely took a toll on my skin but that was all gone.  However, since I sheet mask every once or twice a week my expectations on them are very high and sadly this sheet mask didn’t do much apart from soothing my skin. Of course an Aloe mask is meant for soothing, but this particular Sheet Mask also claimed to whiten (I prefer brighten) the skin, but I didn’t notice any such effect. I’m not complaining though, it did recover my badly tired skin and I am thankful for that.

Will I purchase it?

Yes, I would love to apply them on a regular day.

Tonymoly I’m Real Makgeolli Mask Sheet- Skin Purifying Review

After a long time I am back with my Korean Skincare reviews and this time I am going to write about one of my favourite sheet masks from the Tonymoly I’m real sheet mask range.

I’ve already talked so much about my love for rice masks. They are so purifying and helps my skin a lot when I breakout. Now Makgeolli is a very popular alcoholic beverage in Korea made out of rice and when it comes to skincare benefits, it is as good as sake. Sure as hell, I was bound to love it, as it claims to purify the skin too.

As it turns out, it did even a better job than the rice mask and I hope Makgeolli was available in India (not the sheet mask but the real thing) so that I could have applied it on my face every single day.

Product Claims:

Nourish your skin with the I’m real Makgeolli Mask Sheet! This 3-layer pulp sheet is filled with a latex-based essence that is infused with natural oils to provide maximum elasticity and purification for your skin. No parabens, talc, benozphenone, or triethanolamine included.

The fitting was similar to the other sheet masks from the I’m Real range, not that perfect, but almost there.

See:Tonymoly I’m Real Lemon Mask Sheet for Brightening Review

My Experience:

I applied this mask during that time of the months when I breakout the most. This started a few months back, during PMSing I started getting one huge pimple each month with no head, and it stays there during those days, and then after a few days, it slowly vanishes leaving a bad scar. I guess it’s hormonal and there’s nothing that can be done. So I applied this mask while the bump of the month just appeared right on top of my nose and my skin was a little uneven.  I applied it after double cleansing and toning my face, left it on for half an hour, removed it, patted the leftover serum on my face and finished it off with a night cream. The hydration and the brightening effect were noticeable as soon as I took the sheet off. The next morning I woke up to a clear bright skin, with the little bumps gone and the huge pimple with no head lessened in size. Usually the bump grows for the next couple of days, but this time it kept reducing and then it slowly vanished without living a scar. How wonderful!

I guess I cannot be happier. And the brightening effect remained there for the next few days. What more can someone expect from a sheet mask?

Where To Buy Korean Skincare Products in India + Some Tips & Tricks

Just a couple of days ago I posted my Kbeauty haul and now I’ve officially started reviewing them one by one. Because of all the experiments and tortures that my skin goes through, it’s safe to say that my skin is not at its best right now. I’ve got a few tiny bumps on my face which is bothering me a lot as I rarely get pimples. So I decided to start by purifying my skin with my favourite variety of sheet mask, that’s the rice one.

Product Claims

Nourish your skin with the I’m Real Rice Mask Sheet! This 3-layer pulp sheet is filled with a latex-based essence that is infused with natural oils to provide maximum elasticity and brightening effects for your skin. No parabens, talc, benzophenone, or triethanolamine included.

I’ve earlier used a rice mask from Etude House while I was suffering from a bad breakout and it worked wonderfully. This time it’s a Tonymoly one, and while my skin is not as horrible as the time it was while I tried the Etude House one, it still was pretty bad and again I am amazed to see how rice works on irritated skin. Japanese Geishas’ have been using rice water to clean their skin from the ancient days, and if you have ever wondered what their secret to get such porcelain skins is, there I just answered part of your curiosity.

So back to the Sheet Mask review. The sheet was soaked in a very decent amount of milky white serum, with some leftover in the packet.  I doubled cleansed my face, prepped with a toner and applied the sheet mask leaving it for 25 minutes. The mask fit my face wonderfully. Maybe, it’s the best fitting sheet mask I’ve ever used. My bad I didn’t take a ghost selfie, but there are still 10 masks with the same fitting sitting on my shelf, so you might see one in the next post.

The initial effect after taking it off was just what you’ll expect from a very good sheet mask, intensely moisturized and hydrated skin. The following morning I woke up with a CLEAR and BRIGHT skin, exactly what I expect a sheet mask to do. I am very happy with the result and am eager to find out how the rests work out; my money is on the red wine one.

  • Reasonable price
  • Amazing fitting
  • Does everything it claims
  • No parabens

Masker Aide All Nighter Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask Review

Finally a sheet mask that has descriptions that can be read by common people.

I received two sheet masks from Maskeraide yesterday and was eager to try them out since they were the only sheet masks in my knowledge that aren’t exactly Korean, I mean they are made in Korea (yay!) but are formulated in Canada, hence, descriptions in English, and easily available. When I unpacked the envelope I was slightly disheartened to find out that the All Nighter mask has been torn a little on the edge and the serum leaked and made a mess inside.

Product Description:
Whether you were up all night studying or out all night partying, we’ve got you covered to face the long day ahead
Apply our all nighter sheet mask to awaken, refresh and replenish your skin. The cooling effects of the mask will help de-puff and awaken your eyes, while natural Peppermint Oil awakens your senses. Aloe, Argan Oil, Heartleaf (a powerful detoxifier), Honey, Super Fruit and Cactus Extracts work together to erase the signs of the previous night and get you “boardroom” ready!

Directions For Use:
1. To prepare face for your at home facial, start by cleansing and toning your skin.
2. Tear open packet. Gently unfold mask and place on face. Adjust over eyes, nose and mouth for a perfect fit. Rub any excess serum into neck and chest.
3. Relax for 10-20 minutes. Remove mask and discard. Gently pat moisture into skin or give a quick rinse and lightly pat dry.
4. Use once per week. Can be used daily.

The packaging is super fun and quirky, and comes in a blue packet. There was something very luxurious about the mask, something different than any other sheet masks I have ever used. At first I couldn’t point out what it was, later I figured that it had to be the packaging. The packet was smaller in size than any regular sheet mask, but fluffier, mainly because the sheet inside was thicker than any other mask.

The fitting was a little different from the Korean Sheet Masks that I have used, it was rounder I guess. The fitting was nearly perfect except for cheek area where it wrinkled up a little.

My Experience:

While my mind told me to save it for a morning after a sleepless night, my heart and the torn packet told me I need to use it ASAP.  I am getting way too much sleep these days as I am spending the summer at my hometown.  If you are following me on Facebook , you’ll probably be aware of the stress my family is  going through. I’ve been spending sleepless nights, but I do manage to get enough sleep during the day, so technically there’s no point of waiting till my skin gets super tired. I used the mask with my night time regimen, of course after keeping it for an hour into the refrigerator. I was afraid that I might be opening the packet to find a dried sheet mask but to my pleasant surprise, the mask was well soaked. There wasn’t just any serum left into the packet to use on my neck, but I’m not bothered about that because I hate the messiness some over soaked sheet masks create. The sheet was of high quality as I’ve already mentioned and was soaked in a clear serum.  I really felt so relaxed after putting it on my face that all I wanted to do was lay back and enjoy the calming sensation.

I took it off after 35 minutes when it started to fall off. My skin had already absorbed all serum and I didn’t even have to wait to apply my brightening serum and my night cream.  Usually my skin looks so drenched with serum after sheet masking that there’s no chance of going out within an hour (thus always sheet mask at the evening lol), but this mask was different, my skin felt refreshed, de-puffed, hydrated, soft, satin smooth (lol I’m not exaggerating) and everything it claimed.  It’s like the only mask I’ve ever used that can be used during the day time. The instant effect was noticeable, and I was like, one can’t just stay in and waste this amazing feeling, one must go out, but it was already 9 pm. and yes, I was in my hometown where the only interesting place to go is my home. Just like I say, if you sheet mask the night before, your skin should show it the next brighten up the skin, well it did nothing as such, nor did it claim to do. This mask is something that I would stock up on when I go back to city and face life.

Innisfree White tone up 3D Sheet Mask Review

Hello dreamers, hope I am not boring you guys with my serial reviews of Innisfree products.

Today I am back with Innisfree White Tone Up 3D Mask.

Product description
Formulated with fresh berry ingredients to refine skin texture and vitamin B3 to brighten up skin tone, this great sealing and penetrating effect of the whitening 3D sheet mask helps you to present a brighter and milky complexion.

How to Use:
Use white tone up skin after cleansing your face.
Depense on your skin concern you can use white tone up spot essence.
Take the mask out of the bag and unfold it.
First place the chin part of the mask on you chin, and then lightly press the mask onto your face while aligning the center of the mask with the center of your face.
Then, place the neck part of the mask around of your neck.
Using the precut sections in both side of the chin, align the mask so that if adhere tightly to the neck.
Leave the mask on your face for 10-20 minutes.
Remove the mask and spread any remaining essence over your face with your hand.

My Experience:

Most of my purchases from the Innisfree store are meant for nourishing and moisturizing purpose. However, for the sake of my love for brightening products, I picked up this 3D mask and had great expectations from it. After all it claims to lighten the skin tone and only we Indians know what that means to us. A 3D Sheet Mask is simply a mask that had been sewn in such a way that that it covers your whole face and neck all together. Starting with the fitting- I’ve used 3D mask with far better fitting. It was too big for my face, the upper part went beyond my hair line making my hair all messy, and the eyeholes were so big that even my eyes were popping out, and so were my eye bags.  The nose portion was hanging almost near my lips and my chin was looking like I’ve got a French Beard. The neck portion wouldn’t stay on the neck even while I lay flat on my bed and the whole mask was all wrinkled up on my face because of the huge structure. Who they thought was going to try their mask? Big foot? A selfie would have proven my point but I don’t have the nerve to upload a picture of myself looking like a zombie. They are by far my worst sheet mask selfies ever. The quality of the sheet was good and it was soaked in almost half a bottle of essence. I usually leave the sheet mask on my face until they starts feeling dry, but this 3D mask wasn’t showing any sign of drying out even after 35 minutes so I removed it. To my major disappointment, my skin tone was nowhere near brightened. My face was just layered with a watery essence. Usually if you sheet mask the night before, it shows on your skin at the morning. However, there were no sign of a brighter skin in the morning, it was well-nourished of course but there wasn’t any improvement of my skin texture. One perk of using a sheet mask is that no matter it proves to its claim or not, the least it can do is nourish your skin. I was actually planning on purchasing this mask on a bulk, but after testing just one, I won’t bother purchasing another.

  • Paraben free
  • Didn’t irritate my super sensitive skin

  • Doesn’t do what it claims
  • Worst fitting
  • It was messy and drippy

Trying out Korean skincare products III: Innisfree It’s real squeeze mask, Kiwi Review

I’ve wanted to try out sheet masks ever since I was introduced to the 10 step Korean Skincare regimen and I finally ordered a pack of 10 sheet masks from

One of my favourite Korean skincare brand Innisfree has opened a store in Delhi which makes me wanna fly down to Delhi and grab as much Innisfree products as I can, but having a full time job makes that really impossible for me. So, instead I ordered them online.

Sheet mask

The Kiwi sheet mask claims to moisturize skin giving it a soft smooth, radiant and healthy glow.

Unlike many other Korean products this one contained instructions and details in both Korean and English.

Ingredients list: Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, cetyl ethylhexanoate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, actinidia chinesis (kiwi) juice, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, glceryl stearate, dimethicone, PEG-100 stearate, carbomer, xanthan gum, ethylhexylglycerin, adenosine, potassium hydroxide, sodium hyaluronate, citrus unshiu peel extract, orchid extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance

The masks are soaked in white colour serum and is very easy to apply.I used it after cleansing and toning my face and it fitted me properly.  The smell was too good.  I applied it after an exhausting day at work and to my amusement I fell asleep and took a catnap while laying back with the sheet mask on my face. I kept it on my face for around 20 minutes and when I removed it, I felt a layer of serum on my skin. I gently pat the serum to allow the remaining formula absorb my skin. I waited another 5-10 mins to let my skin completely absorb the serum and then finished it with a night cream.

My Experience:

My skin felt refreshed immediately after applying it and I woke up the next morning with a baby-butt soft face. My skin had a radiant glow and the dewy look remained for the next few days. I am so including this sheet mask in my night time skincare regimen and looking forward to trying out other sheet masks from Innisfree.

Would I Recommend Innisfree Kiwi It’s Real Squeeze Mask?

Yes, I would so recommend any skincare junkie to try out this amazing product.
