Blogmas: Christmas Gift Guide

Hello everybody today am going to do a Christmas gift guide which I should have done already, but I was kindda waiting for some delivery to arrive before I actually wrote it. I thought Christmas this year is going to be grand since it’s probably my last Christmas as a spinster, but for some weird reasons, this is probably going to be the lamest Christmas of my life. That is one reason I didn’t do a vlogmas as I thought I would. Anyway I sorted some things for the gift guide; some of the stuffs are what I’m actually going to give to my family, and some I thought would make cool presents.

So here’s everything that I’ve got.

Sheet Masks from Innisfree:

They are going to make excellent presents for your cousins and friends, mostly if they are beauty junkie. Take this Christmas as an opportunity to make them try out Korean Skincare and take better care of their skin. Also these have launched in Nykaa very recently, so unless you or your friends live in Delhi or Mumbai and have already tried out these sheet masks, these would look pretty cool. Besides they will only cost you 100rs each.

Where to buy: Nykaa

Anti-Aging Sheet Masks for your mother:

Even though I’ll probably gift my mom shoes or bag or cloth (because I give her skincare stuffs randomly) I still think that skincare products that provide firmness and elasticity will make cool presents for moms and aunts and anyone you wish would age gracefully.

Make up Revolution Ulto Velour Lip Cream:

This is what am actually gifting my sister. She has a very fair skin tone and even though she isn’t a makeup addict, she used to wear red lipsticks whenever she used makeup even though they doesn’t compliment her skin tone very well. I used to try to convince her that she would look better in plum shades, and then she discovered one of my plum lipsticks which suited her amazingly, and it was hers. That Christmas (last Christmas) I gifted her another Plum lipstick which complimented her even better. So this Christmas I got this pretty plum lip cream from Makeup Revolution for her.

Denver Perfumes or Deos for the men (father/brother/boyfriend/friend) in your life:

So that’s all I have in mind for the gift guide. And in case you are curious, I am going to gift my dad a T-shirt which I’m yet to buy. Also I need to pick up some toys for my nephew’s second Christmas, and for his mum (my cousin sister) I have framed a picture from her wedding. So that’s all, that’s all I have in mind for now. And if you want, you can sneak a peak of Santa’s Workshop on my Insta as I will start wrapping up the gifts from tomorrow.

Till then… Bye

Celebrating Christmas with My Family

Hey guys, wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

I for sure had a great one. Like every year we went to the Church to attend the Midnight mass with my family and my aunt’s family. We exchanged all our gifts before going to the Church. Here’s a little view of my personal Santa Workshop.

1

From my parents and my sister I got a studded blazer from Gas, two tops, one from Eliza Donatein, one from Haute Curry,a jeans from Haute Curry and a wedge from Inc.5. Also I got a pretty sweater from my cousin sister.

The service ended at around 1.45 a.m. We came back home around 2 a.m and… selfies…

My sister and I stayed up chatting till 5 in the morning. Which resulted in sleeping in till noon on Christmas Day and missing the Orphanage visit with my mom. When I woke up she has already done visiting alone. 🙁

We had a family lunch as usual and at the afternoon we went to visit my aunt’s place. The evening was spent well, having a a cousin sister and her family come over.

At night we had a traditional Christmas dinner, organised by my sister and me… We forgot to click pictures of the dinner table after all the dishes were plated. My sister however clicked some pictures while I was still plating the dishes. Here’s some of them…

[Whole roasted chicken recipe will be posted in a day or two]

We had Fried Rice, Mutton Curry, Whole Roasted Chicken, Garlic Bread, Salad and Sweets for Dinner. The roasted chicken was made by me of course with a little help from my mother and my sister and I am happy with the way it turned out to be.

Well that was my Christmas 2015. Hope you all had a great Christmas too. Now eagerly waiting for the New Year, um kindda, I mean I always have a mixed feelings about New Year as with New Year it is the end of the Festive Season but I do have high hopes for 2016.

So wish you guys a Merry Christmas again, I would be glad to hear about your celebration in the comment section.

Enjoy, and be merry…

Blogmas Day 2: Baking Cherry Knobs

So my mom and my aunt makes Cherry Knobs every Christmas. Since I was born without a sweet tooth I skip all the cookies and cakes during Christmas. Cherry Knobs are the only Christmas dessert that attracts me (other than donuts), may be because it looks pretty. This year I thought to give my mom a hand while baking these cookies. I am very happy with how they turned out to be and will be happier to share the recipe with you guys.

YOU WILL NEED…

  • 8 ounces, weight Flour (all-purpose Flour)
  • 4 ounces, weight Butter, At Room Temperature
  • 2-⅛ ounces, weight Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg, Separated
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Essence
  • 3 tablespoons, 1 teaspoon, 2-⅓ pinches Milk, If Needed
  • 2-⅛ ounces, weight Cashew Nuts, Chopped
  • 1 ounces, weight Glazed Cherries
  • Pinch of baking powder

The procedure

Beat the butter for a while. Add sugar and beat the mixture again. Add the egg yolk and keep beating. Add the vanilla essence and then keep adding the flour gradually. Lastly add the baking powder. Keep kneading until the mixture will turns into a dough. You can add milk if you need too, but my mother usually doesn’t. The dough is made.

Make small balls with the dough and dip it in the egg white and then garnish them with chopped cashews and a cherry.

Line them in a baking sheet or a greased tray and bake for 20 mins in a preheated oven at  180ºC.

My first batch took longer to bake (around 25 min), may be because I forgot to preheat the oven. However, since my first batch already did the job of preheating my 2nd batch took 20 mins.

Cherry Knob

1

That’s how my first batch looked before going into the oven.

2

And that’s how they looked when they came out. My second batch turned a little more crispier. However, the first batch tasted better. Who am I kidding? Both batches tasted excellent. 😀

I LOVE CHRISTMAS TAG

Hello beautiful ladies… Since you are reading this article, I’ll guess you love Christmas as much as I do.

Growing up in an Eastern Country, it’s really hard to keep the Christmas spirit alive. I remember days when my grandparents were alive, my neighbors, who also happens to be my relatives, used to gather at each of our houses a day and bake cookies and cakes throughout the advent. Each day they would gather up at one house and bake throughout the evening while the young ones(us) played and played and never got tired. Those days are gone, now nobody comes to bake at anyone else’s house. I remember houses filled with guests, everybody used to visit everybody’s house. Those days are gone too. Then came the days when our family and my aunt’s family(they are our neighbor too) used to get together on Christmas evening. Yes, even that doesn’t happen anymore, now we visit each other somewhere during the evening. I am the one person who tries to keep the spirit alive, years after years. May be my love for Christmas is the reason for such long intro 😀 . I should better get moving to the main part of the article: Random Christmas Facts.

1. What is your favorite Christmas Color?

Red, without any doubt.

2. What is your favorite Christmas movie?

The all time Christmas classic ‘Home Alone’. I try to watch it almost every single Christmas.

3. What is your favorite Christmas song?

I am a Christmas Carol maniac. I start singing carols from December 1st. My favorite 3 carols  are Joyful Joyful, Joy to the World, Hark the Herald.

4. The most anticipated Christmas Tradition?

Decorating the Christmas tree and setting up the Christmas village, I so love decorating the tree that even writing about it is bringing me immense joy.

5. Is your tree fake or real?

Real, but I don’t cut my tree. The tree is in our front yard, right beside where we set up our Christmas Village, we decorate the same tree every single year.

6. PJs of Fancy Dress for Christmas Eve?

We go to the Church on Christmas Eve to attend the midnight mass, wearing the fancy dresses we purchased on the occasion of Christmas.

7. When do you open your presents – on the Christmas Eve or the Christmas Morning?

I receive my gifts from my parents and my sister before Christmas, and they are mostly clothes, most of which I wear to the Church. Gifts from anybody else are opened on the Christmas Eve.

I was always very clever as a kid. I always discovered the gifts even before my mom was able to wrap them. But that doesn’t stop me from believing in Father Christmas.

To spend Christmas in a Christmassy place at least once, with my family. And to see the Christmas spirit in everybody.
