Review: Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner Corrective Care for Enlarged Pores & Skin with Blemishes
Bioderma has long been a part of my skincare routine, especially their cult-favorite product- the micellar water. And a few months back when I received a bunch of samples from them, I found my Holy Grail day moisturizer- Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner.
Brand Claims:
Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner Corrective Care Cream tightens the pores and refines the skin’s texture. The formula penetrates instantly and leaves a pleasant velvety finish. Sebium Pore Refiner Cream spreads out easily with a powdery effect, being an excellent base for uniform makeup.
My Experience With Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner:
My first impression of the Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner is that it feels very much like a primer on the skin. It has a milky white texture that absorbs within the skin completely, leaving a velvety finish. It claims to tighten the pores and while I don’t have many enlarged pores, it does minimize the appearance of any, just like a good pore correcting primer does.
But the brand doesn’t advertise it as a primer, right? So in a sense, it is a lot different than a primer, because while it gives a velvety finish, it also moisturizes the skin at the same time. I have normal skin, and even when I don’t apply a serum underneath it, my skin doesn’t feel dry. But since I like my serums very much, I apply them underneath most days. And honestly, I feel amazed at how it just seals everything with a velvety finishing touch.
What’s even better is that my skin doesn’t sweat after applying the Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner. And that’s a miracle because I normally sweat like crazy and I live in a very humid region. My sister is currently visiting home and I gave her a couple of samples. She has oily, acne-prone skin and the pore refiner has been a boon for her. We have been using it religiously during the daytime and our skin looks fresh, bright, and flawless throughout the day. However, as for my nighttime routine, I prefer something more hydrating.
Pros:
- Minimizes the appearance of pores
- Give the skin a fresh and bright look throughout the day.
- Can be used as a primer
- Doesn’t make my skin sweat
- Non-comedogenic
Cons:
- Dry and normal skin beauties will need to apply a hydrating serum underneath.
- I don’t think it will work for me as a moisturizer during the colder months
