Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Color Clay Mask – Brightening Review
Whenever I fall in love with a product, I try to review it as soon as possible. So you can tell by the picture that I didn’t exactly fall in love with the Innisfree Color Clay Mask Yellow, as I had to use it MANY times to finally reach a verdict. Normally when I’m disappointed with any product I give it a several opportunity to please me unless it’s breaking me out and I gave the Innisfree Color Clay Mask almost an year worth of try to finally express my utter disappointment.
Innisfree launched their Color Clay mask range about a couple of years ago and I got all 7 of them. I already posted the review on my favourite one: White and today I’ll be reviewing my most disappointing mask- Yellow.
Description:
Innisfree brings to you Volcanic Colour Clay mask packs with 7 colours and 7 functions to combat different skin concerns at one time. The powerful sebum control effect of Jeju volcanic cluster provides clean pore care drawing out impurities from skin and ensuring brighter, radiant and glowing complexion. These can be used for “Multi-Masking” mask to combat different skin concerns at one time.Multi-Masking refers to using multiple mask packs at the same time according to skin concerns by skin area, instead of skin type. The Innisfree Volcanic colour clay mask comes with special ingredients such as Vitamin C complex (yellow) for brightening; Hyaluronic acid (blue) for hydration; Pomegranate seed oil (pink) for revitalizing skin; Madecassoside (green) for sebum control; Panthenol (purple) to soothe; Sea salts (white) to smoothen; and Mud (black) to detoxify.
Ingredients:
Water,Kaolin,Propanediol,Silica,Bentonite,Glycerin,Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891),Microcrystalline Cellulose,Ascorbyl Glucoside,Volcanic Ash,Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract,Orchid Extract,Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract,Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract,Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract,1,2-Hexanediol,Cellulose Gum,Xanthan Gum,Glyceryl Caprylate,Disodium Edta,Iron Oxides (Ci 77492)
How to use:
- After cleansing, apply an appropriate amount on a dry face and smooth over the problem areas, avoiding the eye and lip areas.
- After application, wait 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- Use 1-2 times a week.
My Experience:
Because my wheatish skin gets tanned like nuts, I’m always on the lookout for brightening products. Which is why the Yellow Color Clay mask was the first mask I ordered when the range was launched. The presence of Kaolin, Bentonite and Volcanic Ash are common in all color clay masks, what lured me into purchasing this product first was the presence of Vitamin C derivatives. Sigh! I wasn’t as pleased with this product as I am with the other products from the range.
The Innisfree Color Clay Mask Yellow is a Water Gel Clay type mask and has a thinner texture than the other masks and has a bright yellow color. It applies smoothly on the skin and dries out in about 10-15 minutes. Washing it off is a bit easier than the original Volcanic Clay Mask. My skin feels soft and smooth post application. However, it fails to do the one job that it’s supposed to do- Brighten. I have been religiously applying it and my tube is about to be empty but not once I have noticed any brightening effect post application, not even a little bit.
Final Verdict:
I like all of the color clay masks, but this one right here is my least favourite. So if you are about to purchase it because of the brightening claims, save yourself some money. If you are about to purchase it because of the volcanic ash and kaolin, get yourself some other mask from the range.
Pros:
- Eco-friendly packaging (most Innisfree packaging are recycled and the printings are done with soyabean ink)
- Hygienic packaging
- Travel friendly
- Makes my skin smooth and soft
Cons:
- Zero brightening effect
Price: Rs700 for 70 ml
Rating: 2/5
It is quite sad when a product fails to live up to it’s main claim on what it can do.
Exactly!
Sigh …very true.Even I had purchased it because of removing tan and it did not work at all.I remember being very excited when this range was launched.
Same here 🙁
