The Benefits of Drinking Matcha Tea

What is Matcha Tea?

Matcha Tea is basically powdered green tea used in Japan’s Formal Tea Ceremony. Since it’s powdered tea that completely dissolves into the water, a single cup of Matcha is equivalent to 10 cups of regular green tea.

Now everybody is aware of the benefits of green tea, and the definition of Matcha kind of says it all. Matcha is loaded with anti-oxidants and chlorophyll and is the king of super foods and the best and safest way to detox. Ever wonder why the Japanese people have such amazing skin (apart from the added points to the genes and skincare of course)?

Matcha is also rich in amino acid that relaxes the body and helps in concentration.

Why Matcha Tea?

Apart from the amazing benefits, there are a more to the reasons of why you should choose to switch to Matcha for good. For  starters, I know a lot of people who doesn’t like the taste of green tea. Well the good news is, Matcha  surprisingly tastes better than regular green tea. It has an earthy taste to it. And even if you don’t like drinking it in the traditional way, then there’s a lot of other ways to consume it.

A cup of Matcha a day can help you achieve clearer skin, aid in weigh-loss and keep you energetic. My sister likes to bring a bottle of Matcha with her to the gym. And she says that it gives her immense energy during and post-workout.

Are you a coffee addict and trying to cut down on caffeine? Congrats, you can now switch to Matcha Latte.

Do you love cakes but trying to cut down on sugar? Well you can add a spoonful of Matcha into your cupcakes and opt for a little less sugar and be healthy and fit eating cupcakes. Usually Matcha cupcakes are just baked like normal cupcakes only with the added use of the Matcha powder. But I just love the flavour and think that a little less sugar would do just fine.

Here’s a Matcha Mug Cake that I baked for Christmas 2020 and topped with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce. In back ground there are more Matcha Cup Cakes.

You can basically add Matcha into anything and make a healthier version of it. How does Matcha Ice Cream Sound? And there are a lot more Matcha recipes out there, but my favourite is Matcha Tiramasu.

You cab even get a Matcha Boba if you are into Boba Tea.

Where to buy?

When I first tried Matcha Tea back in 2017 Matcha wasn’t very easily available in India. I have been searching for over 2 years for Matcha and found this website called Chado who not only sells Matcha , but are tea experts. Any kind of tea, from any part of the world, you name it and they have it. No one knows teas better than they do.

But the good news is many Indian Sellers now sell Matcha. And I have tried almost all of them, from Karma Kettle to Tea Trunk to Wishcare.

I’m currently drinking the Vadham Matcha Tea which is very affordable and authentic.

How To Choose Your Matcha Tea:

When you are choosing your Matcha Tea brand, go for the Japanese One and not the Mandarin one. The Japanese Matcha Tea is richer and has 60% more anti-oxidants than Chinese Matcha Tea.

You can tell the difference from the shade of green. While Chinese Matcha is lighter and brighter shade of green. The Japanese Ceremonial Matcha is darker in shade.

Japanese Ceremonial Matcha is a high grade Matcha from Japan, ground to a fine powder by stone mill.

The reason I’m personally so obsessed with Matcha is that it’s the easiest one stop solution for every thing. When I drink Matcha tea on a daily I flaunt the clearest version of my skin. It helps me when I try to lose some weight and keeps me productive the entire day. A cup of Matcha can instantly reduce bloating.

So, weather you are rooting towards glass skin, or a slender figure, a cup of Matcha is what you should add to your daily routine.
