Lotus Herbals WhiteGlow Infused Brightening Serum Mask Review

You guys know how I like trying out non-Korean sheetmasks, especially the Indian ones since they are easily available in India? So today I’ll review one of my most horrific founds, so horrific that I couldn’t wait to review it. I have so many articles to write, about the Mrs.India Grand Finale, about my recent trip, my life update, some amazing product reviews, but I was like, “I have to warn my readers not to buy this particular product as soon as I land home.”

So this particular product is Lotus White Glow Infused Brightening Serum Mask. I bought this product at a time when my only skin issue was tanned and dark skin due to too much travelling. Due to both my dad’s and my husband’s health issues  I haven’t been able to take much care of my skin in the past few months and I was looking forward to attend the Mrs.India Grand Finale at Mumbai and as a last minute attempt to brighten my skin, I ordered a bunch of brightening sheetmasks, one of which is this sheetmask from hell.

Description:

This serum mask is enriched with natural Saxifraga extract & Milk enzymes which helps repair damaged & dull skin. Its brightening serum gets easily absorbed to the skin which renews cells and gives radiant & glowing skin.

My experience:

So I used this sheetmask 2 days before my flight to Mumbai. I know, wrong call, one should never try a new product right before an important event, but on my defence, no sheetmask has ever gone so horribly wrong on my skin until now (*touchwood*).

So I open the packet and a sheet came out drenched in not enough serum. It was as wet as when I remove my sheetmasks after masking, just a little damp that’s all. For an Indian brand, you’ll think that the fitting will be good on Indian facial structure. But it was by far the worst fitting sheetmask I have ever used and the only Indian sheetmask that didn’t fit my face. It wasn’t even worth it to take a sheetmask selfie. Next coming to the fragrance, it had a strong talc like smell. Personally, I don’t mind the smell of talc, but I was like ‘what’s in it?’. The sheet was too thick and any reader knows how much I hate thick sheetmasks. I don’t feel like my skin gets to absorb much from thick sheets.

So after like 15 minutes I remove my sheetmask and for the first time in 5 years I get bothered by the sticky residue that a lot of people complain about getting after a sheetmask. There was no brightening or any effect whatsoever except for the several tiny bumps all over my face the next morning. It was my worst nightmare, it was the day before my flight and a couple of days before Mrs.India Grand Finale and my cheeks were covered in bumps. It took me 3 rounds of using soothing sheetmask (while I was hoping to use more brightening sheetmasks) to get rid of the bumps.

Overall, I’m horrified with the results and wouldn’t recommend anyone to try it.
