Harvest festivals look different across India, and in our home, it’s Poush Parbon.
As a Christian married into a Bengali family, this was such a beautiful surprise for me — watching pithe being made, shared, and lovingly distributed among family and friends.
I’ve discovered so many kinds of pithes over the years, all made with season’s fresh jaggery. What fascinates me most is how the same pithe, made by different relatives, tastes completely different in every household — much like how Christmas cakes and cookies carry their own family signatures.
