I Say Organic Review

When Seiji was about to start solids, I was staying with my parents who has a huge front yard and a backyard. As a mother, I was extremely worried about all the chemicals and pesticides that are often used on produce. There are news and videos circulating about harmful practices involving to produce. And that’s one worry that led me to start gardening on my parent’s plot. At first it was a few spinach, and then it became a few more vegetables. And my mom took it a few miles extra when she got a chicken coop to get fresh organic eggs for his grandchild.

But let’s be honest, it’s not really possible to grow every single food in your home. And especially since Seiji and I eventually go back to our 2 bedroom apartment in Kolkata, where growing even a pot of microgreen is impossible. True story! my husband and I managed to kill even bonsai and aloe vera in our apartment. Vegetables are a far cry.

That’s why my quest for an all-stop store for organic produce and pantry has been on for a while. After a few trial and errors, I finally found I Say Organic, a social enterprise that believes in giving people the option of eating safe food that’s grown without toxic chemicals and pesticides. All while recognizing and supporting the farmers who grow it.

With an aim for sustainability, their store offers organic fruits and vegetables (selected locations), whole foods, cooking essentials, snacks, condiments, dry fruits & beverages.

Sadly, they don’t deliver fruits and vegetables to Kolkata. However, my pantry is always stocked with their products, especially when it comes to my little ones’ food. Some of our staple for Seiji from their stores are Red Rice, Desi Ghee, rajma, Suji, Makhana, Walnuts, Bajra Atta, peanut chikki, and most importantly cookies.

i say organic I have always been particular about not giving commercial biscuits or cookies to Seiji because of the use of chemicals, preservatives, and refined flour. And this is one thing I had to be firm about since many argue that biscuits are an easy snack for kids and that kids love them. But with the I Say Organic Cookies I never have to worry since they are completely free from chemicals, and preservatives and are made of whole wheat.

The best part about ordering from them is that their packaging are as sustainable as it gets. The products are delivered in a big cardboard box and each product comes in resealable packaging.

So this Earth Day, let’s choose sustainability.
