ILLIYOON Ultra Repair Cream Review

I was introduced to the brand Illiyoon when my friend Song from South Korean gifted me a bunch of their sheetmasks. I went home that night, used 1 sheetmask, and my skin was brightened overnight like a miracle. I’ve been using sheet masks for so long, but this happened for the first time. It was love at first use. I dug deeper and found out that Illiyoon baby brand of Amore Pacific is a brand that combines Skincare Science with Korean Hanbang. Now I’m a person who has always been in love with Hanbang AKA Traditional Korean Medicinal products. And no wonder my love for this brand grew deeper. I wondered why I’ve never heard of this brand before. But then again, most K-Beauty brands sold internationally are marketed towards the Western Market. And if you want to look into products that are huge in Korea, you’ve got to look for the more traditional brands like Sulwhasoo and in my opinion Hanbang brands.

I combed through all K-Beauty sites for a year looking for more products from Illiyoon and I knew that I’ll have to look at Korean sites that ship from Korea. And finally, after a yearlong search, I found the Illiyoon Ultra Repair Cream at Jolse.

Ingredients:

My Experience:

When I got the Illiyoon Ultra Repair Cream, I was suffering from pregnancy hyper-pigmentation and nothing was basically working. I’ve also had dull-dehydrated skin after being hospitalized and bed-ridden for so long. And as the name suggests, it was supposed to repair my skin that was deprived of any skincare for months.

The product comes in no-frill packaging and the tube nozzle dispenses just the right amount of product. The cream has a thick milky texture but melts like a dream on the skin. What I love the most about the cream is that it never feels greasy or heavy on the skin, even if you accidentally apply more quantity than needed. It moisturizes the skin enough during the winter, yet feels light on the skin during summer. You can use it as a day cream, or a night cream. You can boost it up with an oil/ampoule or apply on its own. It’s going to impress you no matter what.

Within a week after I started using it, I noticed a brightened skin that looks healthy and well taken care of. I’ve been pretty much hooked ever since and recently I temporarily put it away to test another product and I kid you not, the brightening effect vanished after I stopped using it for more than 4-5 days. My skin looks dull enough to give up on the current testing and go back to my trusted Illiyoon.

Overall, I am super impressed with the Illiyoon Ultra Repair Cream. It can be used during Winter or Summer, Day or Night, under Sunscreen or Makeup, it’s just the multi-tasker.
