Switching To Zero Waste Dental Care With Deyga Organics
January 2018 I started my sustainable journey. I have been taking one step at a time, slowly towards the zero waste lifestyle, first, is was my menstrual hygiene, next it was choosing the sustainable brands, after switching to cloth diapers (not completely though, I still use the disposable ones sometimes) I have recently switched to Zero Waste Dental Care.
I’ve been raving about this organic brand called Deyga for quite some time now. Their parcels are plastic free and for their product packaging, they use as less plastic as they can. And even when they do use plastic packaging, most of the times they can be reused.
Today I’ll be talking about their Zero Waste Dental Care.
I’ve long been meaning to switch to Bamboo toothbrush. It’s one of the most important steps towards being sustainable. Every single plastic toothbrush that I’ve used in my entire lifetime has been lying somewhere in some landfill, waiting to be decomposed some 1000yrs later. Even if I’ve used 4 toothbrushes in a year, purchased some more if I forgot to pack while travelling ,combined with the plastic toothpaste tubes, I’ve by myself created over 220 pieces of plastic waste in my lifetime just to brush my teeth. So here’s pledging that I’ll create no more plastic waste for my dental care and switch to sustainable bamboo tooth brush and tooth powder.
The Deyga toothbrush has been created inspired by the ancient tradition that proudly speaks of the goodness of charcoal. This bamboo toothbrush has got bristles that are infused with charcoal which is a potent enemy of dirt and harmful bacteria. The bristles are gentle and the bamboo portion is compostable, biodegradable and sustainable.
Deyga Herbal Tooth & Gum Powder:
The Deyga tooth and gum powder comes in a plastic jar that can be recycled and reused for multiple purposes. It comprises of Wayuunaiki, Haritaki, Edible Camphor, clove, sage and organic salt. It’s very convenient to use and gives a fresh breath and whiter teeth. All you need to do is dip a wet toothbrush into the fine tooth powder and brush in gentle circular motion for two minutes and rinse. And tada! You’ll have a fresher breath.
Overall, I’m really satisfied with my decision of switching to zero waste dental care as much as I’m with the products. I’ll be exploring more zero waste products from Deyga, till then…XOXO
