Being a skincare addict I’m always on the lookout for miracle ingredients. After my obsessions with snail mucin and niacinamide, my current favourite is the all-rounder Cica or Centella Asiatica. Also commonly known as tiger grass, gaining the name for being the grass tigers rub their wound to regenerate new skin. Although Cica is fairly new as a beauty ingredient, thanks to K-Beauty, its medicinal use dates back to 3000yrs or more. It has been a staple in traditional Chinese medicine through centuries for its healing benefits.
Full of amino acids, beta-carotene, fatty acids and phytochemicals including vitamins C, A, B1 and B2, Cica can stimulate collagen production because they are packed with antioxidants. It can firm, repair, soothes the skin while combating breakouts and fighting pre-mature aging. It boosts blood circulation and blood flow to the skin and decreases moisture loss aiding in cellular repair. No wonder it is called a miracle ingredient and when used as a night time treatment it’s the most effective.
Recently Priveda has launched their Cica Rejuvenating Night Cream that has been in my testing table for 21 days. It comes with the goodness of Shea Butter, Coconut Water, Aloevera, Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin, Titanium Dioxide and last but not least, Cica as the star ingredient. It’s free from parabens, sulphate, phthalates and mineral oil. It’s also vegan and cruelty free.
My Experience:

Like I said, I’ve been using it for 21 days, the time our skin takes to regenerate. I love how it gets rid of any redness of the skin and keeps the moisturized for a long time. It has a thick texture but glides smoothly into the skin leaving a matte finish effect. My skin has been feeling plumped ever since I started using it and I haven’t noticed any breakout at all. To be honest I haven’t broken out since my delivery (*touchwood*) but recently I noticed some stubborn bumps after I travelled to my hometown. However, the bumps vanished after I started using the Priveda Cica Night Cream.
Overall, it is a perfect overnight skincare solution. It works all night to regenerate, repaid and replenishes the skin barrier for younger looking skin while you get your beauty sleep.
