Wear Equal : Making A Sustainable Choice
Back in January 2018 I made a choice to be as eco friendly as possible. I’ll be honest, I did not turn into a complete zero lifestyle but I did choose a low waste lifestyle. Choosing products with minimum packaging, saying goodbye to disposable sanitary pads, Starting to make my own DIY products and most importantly choosing sustainable brands.
So when I found out about Wear Equal, I had to try them out. It’s the first Indian underwear brand I’ve come across that’s sustainable. They use upcycled cotton material to create their undies that are super comfortable as well as chic. Their undies come in 4 styles- boyfriend shorts, hipster, Classic brief and Bikini.
As a new mom, comfort plays a really important role in my day to day life. No matter how much I tried to have a natural birth I had to be rushed for a C-Section as my baby became distressed in the birth canal after 13hrs of labor. Due to my emergency C-section it’s been a bit tough for me to wear bottoms or undies that aren’t soft or comfortable. And thus I’m glad to introduce the Wear Equal bikini undies in my wardrobe as they not only make me feel beautiful but also gives me superior comfort, all the while making me feel good about making an eco friendly choice.
The whole packaging was sustainable. While the parcel was wrapped in a brown paper bag, the panties came in a jute pouch. They were also thoughtful enough to include a mask inside the packaging which means a lot during this pandemic and also sent a sustainable plush toy/stress ball, which was much needed as my baby will soon start grabbing whatever interests him, and also since I have been juggling between my work and being a decent mom and will continue to do so.
So Happy Mother’s Day to me. The first Mother’s day that has been made extra special with this beautiful, sustainable package.
