Introducing The Launch Of ZEE5 Kids
As a new parent and an exhausted one I always look for ways to soothe my baby. Sometimes, he’s sleeping, sometimes he’s feeding and other times he is throwing tantrums to be held and rocked, and even that won’t do if you aren’t constantly walking to and fro. Since it’s just my husband and I, our arms are pretty much sore all the time from holding and rocking him in a specific position. The only way to soothe him otherwise, even for just 10-15 minutes is to turn on the music, and he’ll happily listen to it while lying in bed.
I can only imagine what we’ll go through as he keeps growing, learning new ways of throwing tantrums and us looking for new ways to soothe him. What I learnt from my elder cousins and their spouses is that a good, educational kids’ show or movie can be your saving grace if you want to stay sane. Back when my now early teenage nieces were toddlers it was the era of DVDs and I remember my niece asking me for Barbie DVDs and me searching the entire town for them. My own original collection got stolen when we had a repairman over to fix our DVD machine.
But now with the magic of the internet within our reach we can watch any and almost every show or movies that we want to. And that’s why when I found out about the new kid segment of ZEE5 I right away sent them to my nieces and nephew to enjoy during the lockdown and they were super excited to watch the plethora of Kids’ shows and movies. Sure it’s a long way to go till my baby will be old enough to enjoy these shows but I’m glad that my nieces and nephew will get a library of shows with more than 4000hrs of watch time spread across multiple languages including Bengali- our mother tongue. From Krishna Balaram to Christopher Columbus, from live action to top animated movies, ZEE5 Kids has something for every kid.
And then there’s more. ZEE5 kids is free for users and while spending quality time with your kids you can decode certain legends such as Robinhood, Christopher Columbus, Hatim or epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata. Honestly, the kid in me got excited to find Cinderella in the collection and I sure am going to watch it while the baby sleeps.
My nephew started with Krishna Balaram, which is an animated series about the adventures of Krishna and his friends in Vrindavan and is filled with action and excitement, as they discover new forests and face new demons. It comprises 43 episodes, each between 12-23 minutes.

Among other must-watch series includes Chota Bheem which gives us #friendship goals and teaches our kids the value of friendship. There are other character-led stories such as how Bandbud and Aur Budbak complement each other.
