Missha MISA Cho Gong Jin Eye Cream Review

Hey guys, today I will be reviewing the Missha’s Cho Gong Jin Eye Cream that I took with me during my Bangalore trip. As you guys might know that I use any skincare product for at least 21 days before reviewing it because that’s how long it takes our skin cells to turnover. However, this time I used the cream for 10 days because I actually ordered 10 samples and each lasted just 2 usages-morning and evening.

I have mentioned this previously that my eye bags and dark circles are genetic and stubborn and it’s a fact that genetic dark circles are almost impossible to treat with eye treatments. Out of the many eye creams and eye patches that I have tried the only eye cream that has previously worked on my eye bags are Epique Eye Cream. I haven’t come across any other eye cream that made even the slightest of difference, that was until I ordered the Missha’s Cho Gong Jin Eye Cream from Cosmetic-Love.

Product Description:

HOW TO USE:

Ingredients:

Phellinus Linteus Extract, Butylene Glycol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Dimethicone, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Behenyl Alcohol, Niacinamide, Stearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Cyclohexasiloxane, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Diisostearyl Malate, Silica, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance(Parfum), Potassium Hydroxide, Mica (CI 77019), Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dextrin, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Ethyl Hexanediol, Soy Isoflavones, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Pueraria Mirifica Root Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Seed Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Cimicifuga Racemosa Root Extract, Angelica Polymorpha Sinensis Root Extract, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Punica Granatum Extract, Tin Oxide, Cornus Officinalis Fruit Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Angelica Acutiloba Root Extract, Rehmannia Chinensis Root Extract, Velvet Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Betula Alba Bud Extract

My CosDNA analysis came up pretty clean with only 1 acne flag for Butylene Glycol, 1 for Dimethicone, 2 for Stearyl Alcohola and 2 for Cetearyl Alcohol. Most of the ingredients with acne flags exists in pretty much all beauty products and my skin doesn’t react badly in contact of them.

My Experience:

As I said, my dark circles and eye bags are extremely stubborn and nothing works on them. However, with just a few days of using this Cho Gong Jin Eye Cream there were visible changes in my under eye area. My eye bags and dark circles came under control and I looked like a normal person without sleep (you can only imagine how terrible my eye bags usually looks). Within a week, I was able to hide my eye bags with a little concealer and by the time I finished up my samples I was pretty sure they would have disappeared with another week of usage. But anyhow my under eye area looked way better throughout my trip even though I was sleep deprived throughout and trust me when I say it that it takes a lot for an eye cream to do its job on my weirdly stubborn eye bags and this baby did its job.

Will I purchase it again?

If I compare, the Epique Eye Cream worked a little better on my eye bags. Who am I kidding?! It took the Epique cream less than a week to make my eye bags and dirk circles disappear. And they re-appeared looong after I stopped using the cream. Unfortunately, I lost the cream during my previous Bangalore trip ( 3 years back) and it broke my heart so bad I did not repurchase it. I know, weird!

Both the Epique Eye Cream and Cho Gong Jin Eye Cream costs fortune and if am spending that kind of amount for the full-sized product, maybe I’ll go for the Epique Eye Cream. Also I haven’t reviewed the Epique so it will of course be my first choice.

Will I recommend it?

Yes

Price:

$50 for 30 ml

Where to buy:

Cosmetic Love

Pros:

  • Worked on my really stubborn eye bags
  • Contains Titanium Dioxide- physical sunscreen
  • A little goes a long way

Cons:

  • Costly
  • My dark circles and eye bags went back to their normal state after I stopped using the cream, but then again I haven’t used them for a long period either.

Rating:

4.7/5

  1. Hi nice review 🙂 however, i have one question, I am also 26yrs old and just wondering if you think there is no problem using this eye cream for people our age. Some of the reviews (and there are very few) mentioned that it is seemingly intended for mature women/skin (45+). Is that true? Also, do you think this product is great to layer under make up in a humid weather? Thanks so much in advance!

    1. Eye creams are meant to be used once someone hits 25. Even if you don’t show signs of aging yet, it’s better to take precaution before the damage is already done.

  2. I was actually looking for this product because during my trip to Korea, I got a free trial kit and I didn’t know what it actually is for since the description is in Korean. Haha. Will try this now that I know that this is for the eye area. Thanks!

  3. Great review….I too have heredity eye bags…Does the epique cream really work on that??

  4. Oh Shoot. Forgot to consider abatement. So INR price of goods should be equal to or below 615 (400/65%). Which means USD limit would be $9.46. Better but not good enough 🙁

  5. Hey Clara! Awesome review. Will buy the Epique Eye cream for sure.
When it comes to importing products, I did a bit of research on customs duty and found out that cosmetics are valued at (Retail Sale Price – 35%). This means that the actual price paid doesn’t matter, you will be paying Customs on RSP with an abatement of 35%. The usual rate of Customs is 29.441% but after abatement and exemption of additional CVD the rate comes to 24.462%. Customs duty if Rs. 100 or less is exempt. So if you want to import duty free the INR value would be (100/25%) Rs. 400. The USD value would be $ 6 dollars. What!!!

Please tell me I’m wrong. None of these Korean products are below $ 10.

    1. hahaha 😀 I usualy stick to orders valued at $11-$14 and so far I haven’t paid custom *touchwood* It’s sheer luck. Anyway, if you are looking for Korean products, you can also try http://www.daisy.net.in/ it’s am Indian K-Beauty site…

    2. Thanks Clara! Read your post, hope you’re all better now. You’re too sweet to be sad.

  6. This article gives in-depth knowledge abt types of eye creams – things the average person (me) does not know – excellent work !
