K-Beauty Mini Sample And Sheet Mask Haul

Hey guys, hope you all are doing well. I’ve done a mini sample and sheet mask haul from cosmetic-love.com as it’s time for me to travel again. It’s going to be my first solo tour as well as my spinster trip and as you guy know how I love packing sample-size and travel-size products while travelling, I ordered a few things I didn’t have in tiny sizes.

Starting with sheet masks, because why not? I know I already have enough in my stash to pack one for each day during my trip but I don’t need any excuse to stock up on them.

  • Benton Snail Bee High Content Mask Pack: I had been eying this product for a long time. I first ordered this last September but didn’t receive it. When I mailed them for re-order it was OOS (and I got a refund). So finally I got my hands on this and I have such high hopes.
  • Missha Real Tencel Sheet Mask: Missha happens to be a beloved brand of mine. However I never tried any sheet mask from them. I hope it’s as good as their essences.
  • Etude House Moistful Cream Collagen: 10ml x 2PCS- Again one of my most favourite K-Beauty brands. Etude House products reminds me of dollhouses. I have heard wonderful things about the Moistful range and I couldn’t help but apply it on my face even before I set out for my trip. I love it already. I’m going to purchase the full-size version soon.
  • Missha Chogongjin Eye Cream – Another Missha product. I’m touring for 11 days and I got a 10 set sample of which I already used one. I sample will last you only two usages so I don’t have to worry about the messiness.
  • Tonymoly Tomato Magic Massage Pack- It was freebie sample that I received with one previous order as well. Even though I would have loved to try out new products as samples but I am fine with these ones as well. They came to my rescue when I got severely tanned in Andaman despite of re-applying sunscreen every 3 hours. I tanned at least 2-3 shades darker and whenever I applied this pack I de-tanned to some extent, not too much but enough to recognize myself in the mirror.

So that’s everything I purchased this time, I’m so looking forward to my trip as well as am anxious because I haven’t travelled alone ever before. This time I’m taking my boyfriend’s camera because his viewfinder rotates and probably I’ll have to click my own pictures this time (except for the times I’m meeting up with my sister and my friends that resides over there).  Also can’t wait to review the products I purchased. Till then… Bye… XOXO

New K-Beauty Site In India- Daisy Skin Fix Haul & First Impression

Hey guys, it’s with great excitement that I am going to announce something really huge (at least to me). There’s an online K-beauty store in India where you can get a massive collection of Korean Skincare Brands, brands you didn’t know were available in India. So rejoice Indian K-beauty addicts, you can now get your hands on a number of K-beauty brands now. You have to no more rely on Innisfree and The Face Shop or ship internationally, you can get them all hassle free right in India.

But first thing first, this is not a sponsored post but the products I received were kind of freebie. You might have noticed by now that this article is a bit different from my usual ones, the reason is my pure ecstasy over the fact that I can now get my hands on a huge collection of K-beauty products without having to ship internationally, this has been my dream for over the past few years. And the best part? They have free shipping on all orders.

How I discovered their site:

So I got a mail from their founder a few weeks back, introducing me to their site- http://www.daisy.net.in/ I went through the site, some of the products I craved for were OOS but I ordered a few sheet masks. For now they are only accepting bank deposit and bank transfer so you have to pay after you have placed your order. Right after I placed the order, I received a personal text from the founder that I don’t need to pay for my order, and within a few days I received my order along with two samples.

If you have been reading my blog regularly, you’ll know that my first online haul from any site is always small, so I settled with just a few sheet masks all the while eyeing their products from Missha, Tonymoly, Skinfood, Secret Key, The Saem and so on.

Skinfood, Tonymoly and Missha are probably my most favourite K-beauty brands. Other brands available at their site are-

COSRX, The FaceShop, Innisfree, Skinfood,Tonymoly, Missha, The Saem, Sulwhasoo, Mizon, Zymogen, Ciracle, Secret Key, Laneige, Son & Park, Nature Republic, Dear Clairs and many more.

After I received my order I had a talk with their founder. Turns out their business is at the baby step right now and only two of the co-owners are doing the entire work- one from Korea and one from India. However, they are looking forward to hire stuffs, adding more payment methods, making the site even more user friendly, getting better deals and including more brands as well as opening a physical store. So I hope it’s just a matter of time that they will overcome the only two issues I found a little bothersome- the payment method, and taking a while to restock OOS products

First Impression:

I have tried out The Saem The Snail Brightening Sheet Mask just today. When I first got introduced to K-beauty, I thought that I will never put Snail Poo on my face. And here I am writing the article with a face full of snail slime. Since I have used it just an hour ago, I can’t tell much except for the fact that I loved the fitting. The eye holes made my face look a bit weird but so far it’s the best fitting mask I’ve ever used.

Is there any product from their site you would like me to review?

The Face Shop The Solution Brightening Face Mask Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the second product from my TFS haul- The Solutions Brightening Mask. For some unknown reason it reminded me of the Innisfree Skin Clinic Vita C Sheet Mask and I kind of expected the same result. Spoiler alert- I was disappointed.

How to use product

  • Arrange skin texture with toner
  • Take out the sheet and remove the film
  • Spread over face, adjusting from eyes to nose
  • Take off after 10~20 minutes and tap lightly to absorb essence

 Price: MRP 100rs

 Where To Buy:

Nykaa

 My Experience:

When I said it reminded me of the Innisfree Vita C Mask Sheet, I meant that the very first impression of the whole packaging reminded me of the Vita C mask. However, upon tearing the packet I was surprised to see that The Solution mask came attached to a film similar to the Vita C mask. My expectations went higher. The Vita C Mask worked amazing on me and I was hoping the same from it.

The sheet was drenched in enough serum but there were no extra serum dripping from it. I know that some people like it when there’s extra serum left inside the packet, but I am better off without that kind of messiness. The fitting wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t perfect either. There were a few wrinkles but otherwise I was happy with the fitting. I kept it on for about 30 minutes and when I removed it, the sheet was still damp. I didn’t notice any initial change in my skin except for the fact that it was immensely moisturized.

I usually sheet mask during my night time regimen but this once I used it during my morning routine post exfoliating. The brightening effect was visible within an hour and I was really happy with it. I went to bed with a moisturized, hydrated, brightened and happy face. The next morning? It was all gone. No brightness,no immense hydration. I took a 3hrs train to Kolkata that afternoon and by the time I reached Kolkata my skin was back to being its usual self. It was a bit clearer though but I like the brightening effect of a brightening mask to last at least 2-3 days.

Will I purchase it again?

Nah…

Do you know there’s an Indian K-Beauty E-commerce site? I mean you can actually get your hands on multiple Korean Skincare brands you didn’t know were available in India, without going through the trouble of shipping internationally. Watch the space 😉

Innisfree Water Glow Cushion SPF 50 + PA +++ Review

Cushion Compacts are a gift to us from the K-beauty brands. After BB Creams, CC Cream, DD Cream and sheet masks, they came up with this revolutionary creation which will make you want to pack your regular foundations and sunscreens away. However, I am a little too late to get my hands on one of the beauties since the only K-beauty brand in India is far away from my city and I had to literally quit my job to finally visit the store as I wasn’t able to manage any leaves. I shopped at the Innisfree store like crazy and it’s a little hard to evaluate for me which pick is my favourite one. I came back to my city like a victor, purchasing a small briefcase dedicated entirely to the products I picked up from the store. The cushion compact however is at the top of my favourite list right now.

The packaging:

I cannot be more happy with the packaging. It’s really easy to travel with. With a film to protect the sponge, the compact cannot get any more hygienic.

DSC02327

My Experience:

DSC02330

The Water Glow Cushion Compact is meant to give the skin the much adored dewy finish. I fell in love with the compact after the very first usage. It gives the skin a medium coverage but it is totally build-able in case you want a better  coverage. As for me, I am very satisfied with the coverage I don’t think I’ll need my usual sunscreens ever again. The staying power is pretty good to. It’s an universal rule to re-apply your sunscreen every 3 hours so whenever am out in the sun for over 3 hours I clean my face with a cleansing wet wipes, spray on some mist on my face and apply the cushion compact all over my face and neck. I feel that’s the most hygienic way to protect my skin from the sun.

Apart from the staying power and the coverage, the application is also worth noting. You just have to dab the smooth, soft puff into the cushion and just pat, pat, pat, all over your face. You might notice the whitish tone in the cream post application, that is because most of K-beauty brand sunscreen uses physical sunscreen instead of a chemical one, which is actually great for your skin. However, unlike any other physical sunscreen, this cushion compact blends super easily on the skin, whereas any other physical sunscreen takes a little effort to blend in and leaves a weird white residue.

The best part? when you feel like your cushion has tried up, just flip it over and use it until that end becomes dry too. The sponge is replaceable and when both the ends become dry you just can purchase a re-fill instead of purchasing the whole thing.

Nothing delights me more than seeing the Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide duo in my product list. 😀

Pros:

  • Travel friendly
  • Contains SPF 50+
  • Doesn’t contain parabens
  • Organic sunscreen
  • Good coverage
  • Gives the skin a dewy look

Cons:

Nothing that I can find, except for it can be a little too pricey for those who are in budget, but that is totally worth it.

The Face Shop Real Nature Red Ginseng Face Mask Review

In case you already don’t know, I’m not a huge fan of The Face Shop products. As I’ve earlier said, I’ve had their character masks shipped from Korea long before they launched in India and I didn’t have the best impression. TFS is a midrange Korean Skincare brand that comes off really cheap; however I feel like there are brands that costs the same and works way better on my skin. When they launched in Nykaa I had to do a little haul, because you know, am not having to ship them internationally.

So the first product I tried was the Red Ginseng sheet mask.

Product claims:

The mask sheet drenched with emulsified moisturizing serum with revitalizing Red Ginseng provides skin with a boost of energy and vitality.
Formula is without added parabens.

Ingredients:

WATER/EAU • BUTYLENE GLYCOL • GLYCERIN • GINSENG ROOT EXTRACT • ALCOHOL DENAT. • TREHALOSE • PROPANEDIOL • PANTHENOL • CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE • PHENYL TRIMETHICONE • SODIUM HYALURONATE • CITRUS PARADISI (GRAPEFRUIT) FRUIT EXTRACT • DIMETHICONE • ALLANTOIN • HYDROGENATED LECITHIN • THEOBROMA CACAO (COCOA) EXTRACT • XANTHAN GUM • PEG-60 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL • CARBOMER • ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN • POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE • DISODIUM EDTA • CAPRYLHYDROXAMIC ACID • PARFUM/FRAGRANCE

My CosDNA analysis came up a little bizarre with Alcohol Denat raising a red flag getting a huge 5 for being a potential irritant. Yikes!

My Experience:

I’ve earlier mentioned that I suffer from insomnia, and I haven’t got much sleep for over a week now. The sheet mask claimed to energize the skin, exactly what my tired skin needed.

Korean Red Ginseng is known for their anti-aging benefits, anti-inflammatory agents, evening out skin tone and revitalizing tired skin. My hopes were obviously high. Upon tearing the sheet mask pack, the hopes went higher when I noticed the mask drenched in a reddish brown serum. I haven’t used a sheet mask that’s not white or transparent (except for the character masks of course) and I was really excited. The fitting was almost perfect and reminded me of Etude House sheet masks that have tiny eye holes like this one.

I used the mask after double cleansing, exfoliating, wash off masking and toning my face and as soon as I threw the mask on, a minor cut I had on my forehead started burning. It didn’t sting that bad while exfoliating but it literally burned with the mask on. I remembered that the mask contains alcohol, now I was just sure that the amount was really high.

I kept on the mask on for 30 minutes and took it off when it was almost dry. My face was hydrated but not that overwhelmingly hydrated like the other time I sheet mask. I didn’t even have to pat the excess serum; I just went on to my night cream. I read reviews from other bloggers complaining that it made their face sticky; however I didn’t notice any excessive stickiness, maybe because I layered it with a thick night cream before even I felt the stickiness.

The following morning there wasn’t any noticeable change in my skin. No super hydration, no brightening effect, my skin looked energized though. However, my skin did look dewy throughout the next day which I loved, but that didn’t linger past afternoon. Any effect my skin achieved from this sheet mask didn’t linger more than a day, so it’s kind of a fail for me.

Where to Buy:

Nykaa

Will I purchase it?

Not really

Will I suggest it?

I don’t know, I personally try staying away from products containing alcohol. I’m really very precise about not using a toner that contains alcohol because that can dry out the skin. Upon using this sheet mask my skin wasn’t immensely hydrated and it became kind of dry a day after so am guessing the alcohol is the culprit. What I won’t repurchase myself, I cannot recommend either, can I?

The Face Shop Mini Haul And First Impression

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll probably know that I’ve had a bad experience with The Face Shop in the past. The first time I used a TFS mask was long before they launched in India. I ordered a character mask and even though it was fun, I didn’t notice any change in my skin. After they launched in India I ordered again from Amazon. I was delivered a leaked mask that was manufactured back in 2015. I thought I was done with them but when they launched at Nykaa I changed my mind. I’ve never had a bad experience with Nykaa (*touchwood) so I felt really positive about this order.

Because I have had bad experience with TFS in the past, I didn’t go overboard with the order. I just ordered a Face Wash and 3 sheet masks. You can say it’s a trial haul because you know I’ll eventually end up ordering all of their products if they do any good to my skin. Thankfully I haven’t been disappointed so far. The products were packaged well and all of them were manufactured by the end of 2016 and imported on January 2017 which is cool considering Amazon delivered me products (about a month ago I guess) that were manufactured back in 2015 and imported on 2016 which wasn’t cool at all.

So here’s everything I purchased:

  • The Face Shop The Solution Radiance Face Mask: I LOVE products containing Vitamin C, they work really great on my skin. However, that one time I wasn’t thinking and used a Vita C mask after chemical exfoliating (which is a big NO) I was punished with a cystic acne. So be very careful while using products containing Vita A and Vita C, they can react badly on your skin if used along with AHA and BHA.
  • The Face Shop Real Nature Pomegranate Grenade Face Mask: Pomegranates are known for their firming ability. I’ve used Pomegranate Masks from Tonymoly and Innisfree and they have made my hopes high for this one already.
  • The Face Shop Real Nature Red Ginseng Ginsengrouge: I’ve read articles on how Korean Red Ginseng are great for skin, hair and health. May be I’ll find out some of the benefits after using this mask.
  • The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam: I really didn’t need a cleansing foam anytime soon. I have been using the Skinfood Egg Pore Cleansing Foam which will last me long enough, and I’m also stocked up with some Indian Organic Face Washes. I really have been looking forward to clearing up some space in my cabinet and a cleansing foam was the last thing I wanted. However, since it costs only 300 bucks I thought maybe it will come in a small tube. I’ve been ordering travel sized products for an upcoming trip and I ordered it without looking at the size or weight mentioned. And now it’s the bulkiest cleansing foam in my stash. I don’t regret ordering it though. I’ve used it once and so far, I like it.

So that’s everything I purchased this time. I will do detailed reviews on them once I use them up. I’ll also do a bigger haul if I end up loving them. In the mean time do let me know if there’s any particular product you want me to review.

Till then, bye

XOXO

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack Rice Sleeping Pack Review

Hello everybody, today I’ll be reviewing the Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack in rice which is a repeat purchase from Innisfree. I bought it for the first time during my Delhi trip last year and I was so in love that I ordered it again when Innisfree launched at Nykaa. I’ve been reading about the benefits of sleeping packs ever since I got introduced to K-Beauty and it’s the first one I tried, so far the best one as well.

Sleeping packs are twice a week alternatives for night creams which are supposed to be left on overnight and wash off in the morning with regular cleanser followed by the morning routine. So while you sleep, your skin absorbs all the goodness and you wake up with a well-behaved skin. Sleep packs often come with anti-aging benefits, and just like any other beauty products, different sleep packs offer different treatments.

My love for rice products are no secret, they are so purifying and provides such an amazing brightening effect, I’ve used rice masks from Etude House, Tonymoly, Skinfood, Innisfree and loved the ALL, none of them disappointed me.

What it is

A capsule recipe containing rice to brighten your skin
1. Brighten and nourish your skin using rice ingredients.
2. Enriched sizzling formation provides skin solutions.
3. A night pack that you apply and allow to absorb overnight.

How to use
  1. Massage an appropriate quantity into you face as the last step of your skincare regime. Rinse off with warm water when you wake up the following morning. Choose the capsule that best suits your skin.
    2. Insert the lid into the slit of the container and close it to keep it fresh for your next use.

Ingredients:

WATER,BUTYLENE GLYCOL,HYDROGENATED POLY(C6-14 OLEFIN),GLYCERIN,MANNAN,CETEARYL ALCOHOL,OCTYLDODECYL MYRISTATE,DIMETHICONE,BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER),POLYSORBATE 60,ULMUS DAVIDIANA ROOT EXTRACT,AMARANTHUS CAUDATUS SEED EXTRACT,ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) EXTRACT,CENTELLA ASIATICA EXTRACT,FICUS CARICA (FIG) FRUIT EXTRACT,PORTULACA OLERACEA EXTRACT,PUERARIA THUNBERGIANA ROOT EXTRACT,GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT,PAEONIA LACTIFLORA ROOT EXTRACT,CNIDIUM OFFICINALE ROOT EXTRACT,CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT,ORCHID EXTRACT,CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT,CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT,OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT,SOLUBLE COLLAGEN,ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE,HYDROGENATED LECITHIN,SODIUM HYALURONATE,1,2-HEXANEDIOL,SORBITAN STEARATE,STEARIC ACID,GLYCERYL STEARATE,PEG-100 STEARATE,XANTHAN GUM,TOCOPHERYL ACETATE,CARBOMER,TRIETHANOLAMINE,ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN,DISODIUM EDTA,CERAMIDE 3,FRAGRANCE,PHENOXYETHANOL

The order I follow: (For night time regimen)

  1. Oil cleanser
  2. Foaming Cleanser
  3. Exfoliator (twice a week)
  4. Wash off mask (twice a week)
  5. Toner
  6. Serum
  7. Sheet Mask (twice or more a week)
  8. Sleep Pack (Twice a week, and a night cream the rest of the week)
  9. Eye cream

Pretty intense, huh? However I don’t really follow all the steps every day and there are days I follow only 4-5 steps. Surprisingly, the longer my regimen is, the more I enjoy my routine.

My experience with the Rice Sleeping Pack:

As I told you, it was my first sleeping pack and I did not know what to expect. The product looks like a yummy rice pudding, white sticky and smelled sweet. Luckily, it does not feel sticky on the face. Even if it does, the feeling will go away within minutes. It gets absorbed in my skin with light massaging without leaving any oily residue. The following morning I wake up to a nice plumped up and brightened skin. I’ve been using it twice a week and my skin has been looking noticeably radiant and even. No wonder I repurchased it and will be repurchasing again.

As I earlier mentioned that Innisfree has improved the packaging of the capsule recipe packs and they are now way too easy to store. The previous pack lasted me for like 5-6 usages.

Will I recommend it?

Yes. It comes in a tiny tub for just 150 bucks, so you can try it once for yourself without digging a hole in your pocket.

Cons:

  • Does what it claims
  • Nice fragrance
  • Pocket Friendly
  • Softens and plumps
  • Travel friendly
  • Can even up skin tone and reduce redness

Cons:

Nothing

Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling that I have been using over the last 2 years. It’s basically the 3rd Korean Skincare product I have tried. That was months before I started blogging. Had I known back then that I will be reviewing this product someday and will be sticking with the single bottle for the next two years I would not have thrown the carton away. I technically didn’t throw it away; I just didn’t carry it with me when I moved.

The fact that I have been loyal to this product for so long has already given the spoiler alert that I really like it. Yes 2 years is a long time for a bottle to last, but considering the fact that it’s an exfoliator and I use it only once a week, sometimes testing other exfoliators in between and most importantly just a tiny amount is enough to exfoliate the whole face and neck, it sounds pretty logical that I haven’t ran out of the bottle yet.

Back when I was obsessing over getting my hands on K-beauty products, I remember my then colleagues warning me that maybe it’s not for Indian skin and weather. K-beauty wasn’t even a thing in our country back then. But I went ahead anyway and took the risk of trying 3 Korean products at one go. Charlotte Cho from Sokoglam had generously sent me a package of Tonymoly Brightening Cleansing Oil, Skinfood Tea Tree Bubble Cleansing Foam and lastly Goodal Phytowash along with a Missha Essence Sample that I immediately fell in love with. My brain screamed at me to try 1 product each day since I was trying K-beauty for the first time but my heart (and my skin) just couldn’t resist. I applied the 4 products one by one, and out of all the 4 products the Phytowash was the only product I was a little sceptical about and once you look at the ingredient list you’ll understand why.

Ingredients: Water, Lauryl Glucoside, Glycerin, Yerba Mate (Ilex Paraguariensis) Leaf Extract, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene, Ethyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Ethyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide DEA, Polyacrylamide, Triethanolamine, Betaine, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Phenoxyethanol, PVP, Salicylic Acid, Laureth-7, Olive (Olea Europaea) Fruit Oil, Allantoin, Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis) Peel Oil, Lavendin (Lavandula Hybrida) Oil, Lime (Citrus Aurantifolia) Oil, Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao) Extract, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Black Currant (Ribes Nigrum) Seed Oil, Bergamot (Citrus Aurantium Bergamia) Fruit Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Orange (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis) Fruit Extract, Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis) Fruit Extract, Rose (Rosa Damascena) Flower Oil, Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Anise (Illicium Verum) Fruit/Seed Oil, Coriander (Coriandrum Sativum) Fruit Oil, Sage (Salvia Officinalis) Oil, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Matricaria (Chamomilla Recutita) Flower Extract, Camu Camu (Myrciaria Dubia) Fruit Extract, Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia) Fruit Extract, Sandalwood (Santalum Album) Oil, Brazil Nut (Bertholletia Excelsa) Seed Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Murumuru (Astrocaryum Murumuru) Seed Butter, Cupuacu (Theobroma Grandiflorum) Seed Butter

I mean that’s a scary long list, and according to my CosDNA analysis, there’s some irritants sitting comfortably in the list. Cocamide DEA and Salicylic Acid shows ref flag. If that wasn’t enough, here’s a list of acne irritants –

Sodium Laureth Sulfate 3/5 Acne

Triethanol amine 2/5 Ance

Olive Fruit Oil 2/5 Acne

Butylene Glycol 1/5 Acne

Now let’s come to the sensitive skin part- SLS 2/ irritant.

Coming to the impressive ingredients found in the list…

Yerba Mate: Known as God’s drink, contains 50 types of minerals and vitamins. Some of its known benefits are: anti-aging, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, brightens complexion, lightens scar, improve skin texture and retains moisture.

Glycerine: We know the benefits right? They are super moisturizing and protects the skin against irritation.

Salicylic acid: The chemical exfoliator. They remove dead skin, increases cell turnover, reduces inflammation, opens up pore, breaks down sebum in pore and increases collagen production.

Product Description: An exfoliator with an exciting twist, it bubbles! This nutritious exfoliator is made into a creamy serum that transforms into a foaming peel. It contains hypoallergenic grains that can remove dead skin cells. It can cleanse and detoxify the pores without stripping the skin of its essential moisture. The exfoliator promotes healthy skin and vitality while hydrating it. It can protect the skin from environmental stress that can cause premature aging. The exfoliator is formulated with Yerba Mate, which is known as ‘God’s Drink’. It is a tea that contains polyphenol, saponin, and vitamins that can help to recharge tired and fatigued skin.

To Use: Use 1 to 2 times a week. Use the exfoliator as the last step of your evening cleansing routine. Dispense 1 to 2 pumps of the product and spread it over a dry or slightly moistened face. Wait 1 to 2 minutes until the product transforms into a light layer of foam. Gently massage the foam with fingertips for 15 to 20 seconds. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. For optimal results, use a sheet mask after the exfoliator.

My experience:

Applying this exfoliator is a delight in itself, not to mention effortless as well. You apply a thin layer of the gel exfoliator on wet skin and it bubbles up all over your face (how I wish I had a hand model for the demo pics). Since the exfoliator contains both Salicylic acid and micro beads, it works both as a chemical exfoliator and a physical exfoliator. It also doesn’t require exfoliating too much. After the gel transfers into a thick layer of bubble you just need to massage your face for 30 seconds and rinse.

As I said that I’ve been using this exfoliator for around 2 years now and thankfully the culprit ingredients did my skin no harm. My skin looks visibly smooth and clean after each time I use it. Like I repeatedly say, I sheetmask post exfoliating, and this is the usual exfoliator I use and the duo works amazing on my skin.

Will I repurchase it?

Absolutely! It’s the best exfoliater I’ve used so far. May be I won’t repurchase right after finishing this one, because as you guys know I like experimenting and I might want to try out a new one, but I will surely get it back in my stash in near future.

Will I suggest it?

May be it’s not a best idea for the sensitive skin beauties. I am cursed with a hyper-sensitive skin myself and luckily it didn’t react badly on my skin, doesn’t mean it won’t on you. I’ve explained the goods and the bads and if you think that none of the above mentioned ingredients reacts badly on your skin, or if you are not cursed with a sensitive skin at all, then there’s a high chance you are going to find your Holy Grail exfoliator when you try this one.

Pros:

  • Does everything it claims
  • Attractive packaging
  • The pump dispenses the right amount
  • Hygienic

Cons:

  • Availability
  • The long list of ingredients contains some irritants

It’s Real Squeeze Mask-Strawberry Review

My reviews of Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask range has almost come to an end. After reviewing a lot of my amazing finds from the range I will share a disappointment today- Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Strawberry. I have reviewed almost every mask from the range (except for the bija) and I guess you guys are quite familiar with the range, so this one is going to be real quick.

What it is

Get supple and translucent skin with the strawberry It’s real squeeze mask!

1. It’s real squeeze mask – strawberry
Strawberry helps make your skin bright and supple.

2. Jeju green complex
The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.

3. Triple-layered sheet
This triple-layer sheet has a long-lasting moisturizing effect so that the essence can gradually be absorbed into the skin.

My Experience:

As usual I used the sheet mask post exfoliating and kept it on for about 30 minutes. The sheet was soaked in a LOT of essence and the fitting was just like any other mask from the range-almost perfect. Upon removing the mask my skin was excessively moisturized. The essence on my face took a lot of time to absorb unlike any other sheet mask. My skin was immensely hydrated and moisturized throughout the following days. It has to be the best moisturizing mask from the range. However, having a combination skin, moisturization is not one of my concerns and I was a bit disappointed as it did not do anything besides moisturizing. It claims brightening but I did not notice any. So overall, it can be an amazing mask for dry skin beauties but for combination and oily skin beauties might not be as impressed.

Pros:

  • Moisturizes
  • Pocket Friendly

Cons:

  • Does not brighten.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask – Pomegranate Review

Hey guys, I haven’t reviewed any K-beauty products for a while and I’m here to compensate for that. Today I’ll be reviewing the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Pomegranate. Now even though my first concern while sheet masking is brightness, I am well aware that it’s about time I start using anti-aging products as well. To be very honest, I haven’t incorporated any anti-aging products in my regimen permanently but from time to time I indulge in firming treatments- like sheet masks and facials and stuff. Pomegranate is known for its skin firming benefits and thus it had its due share in my regimen.

My Experience:

Just like any other sheet mask, I used it after exfoliating my skin and kept it on for about 30 minutes. The fitting was a little terrible than the other sheet masks from the same range which is weird. The mask was still wet while I took it off and my face was immensely hydrated and supple. There was no brightening effect and the product did not claim any. The following morning my skin was firm and nourished and behaved well for the following days.

Will I purchase it again?

Given to the fact that I haven’t started any thorough anti-aging regimen yet, I might as well take help from this mask from time to time.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who is 25+

Pros:

  • Does what it claims
  • Travel friendly
  • Pocket Friendly

Cons:

  • No brightening effect

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask- Rose Review

After my rant about sheet mask mistakes yesterday, I thought it would only be appropriate to review a sheet mask today. So yesterday I was going through my mask stash and since my skin wasn’t asking for anything specific yesterday I went ahead with the one much underrated by me- Innisfree It’s Real Rose Sheet Mask. I don’t know why but I really did not have too much expectation from this particular mask, but at the end of the day I was proven wrong.

What it is

Get supple and radiant skin with the rose It’s real squeeze mask!
1. It’s real squeeze mask – ros
Fragrant roses provide moisture to your skin to make it supple and smooth.

How to use:

  1.  After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture.
    2. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas.
    3. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your skin.

Ingredients list: Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, alcohol, betaine, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, rosa centifolia flower juice, xanthan gum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hyaluronate, citrus unshiu peel extact, orchid extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance

My CosDNA analysis came up pretty clean with only butylene glycol raising a low 1 potential acne trigger. But then a lot of products contains bulylene glycol and my skin never reacted badly to it.

My Experience:

It was probably the first sheet mask that I tried during my morning regimen as a part of my experiment. I’ve been reading about how K-beauty enthusiasts apply them on the morning and then finish it off with a moisturizer and then with a sunscreen and flaunt the hydration throughout the day. I kept the sheet mask on for about 30 minutes and it was still wet while I took it off. The fitting was average and the rose smell was too pleasant.

The moisturizer that I’ve been using for a couple of weeks now feels too heavy on my skin (review coming soon). So after I took off the mask my skin was immensely hydrated but after using the moisturizer I didn’t notice anything except for the hydration. After I washed my face during my night time regimen, the heavy feeling from the moisturizer went away and the radiance and brightening effect were noticeable. The hydration lingered when I woke up the next day (today) and the radiance is still noticeable while I’m writing this post, though not too dramatic but enough to make me feel guilty to avoid it for so long.

Will I purchase it again?

Sure it won’t be my first choice while sheet mask hauling the next time, but if I’m picking up a bunch, it certainly will be in my cart.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who wants moisture+hydration+radiance

5 Sheet Mask Mistakes You Are Probably Making

K-beauty is still a relatively new concept in India compared to the western world. And who can you blame? Apart from the fact that Indian Women usually don’t indulge in much skincare, India also lacks the abundance of the amazing products that South Korea has to offer. We only have Innisfree and The Face Shop (very recently launched) to at least get the idea what the ravings are all about. Sometimes we hear the ravings (and criticism) from the mouth of people who have used only a couple of products from the above mentioned brands (no disregard meant) but are yet to get their hands on the much glorious brands. No doubt, Innisfree is an excellent brand but trust me, there are much, much, much, better brands out there to experiment with. Because you can’t tell what’s really working on your skin until you have tried more than just one brand.

The reason why I’m taking my time to write this article today is because I’ve read many Indian Bloggers giving out misinformation to their readers. I am not here to name anyone bad, but since I have been indulging in Korean Skincare for over 2 years now and I have been studying about it for so long, trying out so many brands and communicating with Korean Beauty Bloggers as well as K-beauty Bloggers from different parts of the world am just using this column to share the knowledge I have gained in this two years.

Today’s post will only be about sheet masks because I have read so many misinformation regarding them and I thought that this was much needed. So here are some stuffs you need to keep in mind if you are someone who indulges in K-beauty or you are looking forward to.

  1. Do not wash your face after sheet masking:

So I was going through a very popular blog reading reviews as I sometimes do during my leisure hours and I came across an Innisfree Sheet Mask review and the blogger was actually complaining about how the moisture didn’t linger after washing her face. I mean why??? Why would you do that? Why would you waste that hard earned hydration and moisture by just washing your face. Sheet Masks are literally sheets drenched in serum or essence. Do you wash your face right after applying a serum? NO. Then why would you do that after sheet masking? You just earned your face an amazing hydration and moisture, so just enjoy it and only wash your face during your next skincare routine.

  1. Do not reuse your sheet mask:

This one I read like million times. Like people actually store that used sheet mask so when they sheet mask the next time and there’s a little serum left at the bottom of the packet, they soak the used sheet in that serum and give it to someone in the family to use. Again, why? If you are indulging in something this unhygienic and feeding your skin with so many bacteria then why would you even indulge in skincare in the first place. The first rule of thumb is to be hygienic. People who actually indulge in Korean Skincare maintain their hygiene like their religion. We don’t even put our washed fingers in products that comes in tubs, we use washed sterilized spatula to be extra careful. So just throw away that used sheet when you sheet mask the next time.

  1. Follow it up with a moisturizer:

Because sheet masks are drenched in serum, not moisturizer. Both have different tasks and your skin needs both. I don’t know how many people use a moisturizer or a night cream after sheet masking but I’ve heard a lot of people complaining that the sheet masks have made their skin sticky and greasy. Yes, because you’ve probably forgot to seal in the goodness with a layer of moisturizer. And no, an added layer doesn’t make your skin more greasy, it just locks it all in.

  1. Don’t leave it on for too long:

I’ll admit that while sheet masks are usually required to be left on for 20 minutes, I do leave them on for 30 minutes sometimes, especially if I feel that the mask is drenched in too much serum. But I do remove it while the sheet is still damp. If you leave it on until it’s completely dry, chances are that the sheet will soak back the moisture from your skin. (This point is actually made by Korean Skin Specialists)

  1. Choose the masks according to your need:

It’s a no brainer that different sheet masks target different types of skin issues like any other product. If an oily skin beauty applies a super hydrating mask, chances are she might break out or get an oiler skin. So choose according to your skin. Whatever your concerns are, there’s something for you.

i.e- Oily skin- Tea Tree Oil;  Acne Prone Skin- Tea Tree Oil, Green Tea;  Troubled/Irritated Skin- Aloe, Bija, Green Tea, Rice, Makgeolli;   25+ – Collagen, Pomegranate (firmness);   Dry skin- Manuka Honey;   Dull Irritated Skin- Green Tea;   Need Brightening- Tomato, Lemon;  Need Purification- Rice, Makgeolli, Seaweed.

To make the whole sheet mask scenario a little clearer, I am discussing how I personally apply sheet masks:

  • While most women around the world apply sheet masks during the morning skincare regimen to flaunt the hydration throughout the day, I personally use them during the night. Firstly because I’m not a morning person, secondly, I stay indoors most of the days and lastly, I feel like the serum is getting to do wonders to my skin while I sleep and I wake up the next morning with a plumped up and super hydrated skin.
  • Never apply them on an unclean face: I actually wanted it to make the 6th mistake point but then I thought that no one can actually sheet mask on a dirty face, can they? While sheet masking on an unclean face is out of question, you might even wanna exfoliate before sheet masking. It actually depends on the amount of time you are sheet masking in a week. For example- I usually sheet mask twice a week (sometimes as often as every day) and I exfoliate once a week, so once I sheet mask after exfoliation, and once after detoxifying with a charcoal pack. If you are someone who sheet mask once in a while, then try doing it post exfoliation. That way your skin can absorb the most of it.
  • Applying serums before the Sheet Mask: Just because you are sheet masking, doesn’t mean you should avoid your regular serum that day, ever heard about serum cocktails? So while the usual regimen says that the serum application goes after the sheet mask, I feel like applying the serum before the sheet mask is more beneficial. That way the goodness of the serum gets locked into the skin along with the goodness of the sheet mask. (This is actually something I learned from Jude Chao from Fifty Shades of Snails)

And lastly, read the instructions before applying the masks. You cannot make the most out of your sheet mask unless you are applying it properly. I hope these informations were helpful. Till then,

Bye,

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask- Tea Tree Review + GIVEAWAY Announcement

Hello everybody, today I’m going to review the Innisfree It’s Real Tea Tree Mask Sheet. So I have talked about how I tend to break out while PMSing and I am overjoyed to tell you guys that I have finally figured a way out. The way out is actually making some changes in my skincare routine during that time of the month which I’m going to share with you guys soon.

So a little heads up, including a healing sheet mask AKA Tea Tree Sheet Mask is one of those changes. Tea Tree oil has been widely known to treat acnes and I have earlier been too impressed with Tonymoly Im Real Tea Tree Face Mask. So just when I noticed that I’m breaking out a little around my lip area and one in the forehead I checked if it’s that time already. These little predictions of mine are too accurate that even though they get a little annoying sometimes, I have learnt how to use these predictions to treat my PMS breakout. So I noticed these tiny pimples during my night time regimen and I knew that it will only grow in the following days like always. Without making any delay I exfoliated my skin, since it will make the serum in the mask easier to absorb. I threw the mask on my face after toning and lay on my bed for about 30 minutes.

The essence was almost transparent and even though there was enough essence on the cotton mask, it wasn’t drippy. The fitting of the mask was not as good as the other masks from the range. It wrinkled up around my nose area making my sheet mask selfie too horrible to upload. Usually my sheet masks dry within 30- 35 minutes but it didn’t. However, I removed it in 30 minutes and noticed a visibly clear skin. The tiny pimples were shrunked and by the next morning they disappeared. Now since I applied it just when my skin started suffering from the oil breakout I can’t really tell how it will work on mature cystic acnes. But the result I noticed was impressive enough. I finished it off with a sleeping pack and unlike any other sheet mask it didn’t make my skin too hydrated the following days. I have heard that tea tree oil makes skin a bit dry and I can’t really tell if that’s true. But my skin was neither dried, nor too moisturized. Also my skin tone didn’t get brightened the way it usually does following sheet masking. I guess I should just be happy with the clear skin.

So will I be purchasing it again? I might as well be using one each month.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who suffers from acne or wants something to heal their skin once in a while.

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Sleeping Pack In Aloe & Bija Review

This is probably my first sleeping pack review since I couldn’t get around to review the last two sleeping packs. I purchased them while on a trip and used them up before I got to click the pictures. Apologies for that, I’m going to order them once again and surely gonna review them this time, I promise.

So… What Is A Sleeping Pack/Sleeping Mask?

Sleeping pack is one of the hypes from Korean Beauty Market. There’s a lot of sleeping masks out there in the market targeting different treatments. There’s sleeping packs claiming brightening, there’s sleeping packs claiming anti-aging, and there’s sleeping packs claiming treatment to troubled skin. And whether they are any good or not, depends totally on the specific mask.

My initial idea of sleeping packs is that they are a bit more potential than regular night creams and the two that I’ve already used are a bit heavier and a bit stickier than night creams. But that didn’t bother me at all, in fact I loved it. And then again, usually sleeping packs are meant to use twice a week, so I think of it more like a twice a week treatment. And lastly apart from delivering the claims, the previous sleeping masks used to give me super plump skin the following few days, so yes, I love the concept of sleeping masks.

Innisfree Capsule Recipe : Aloe & Bija

What it is

  1. Skin trouble and soothing care with bija and aloe ingredients (Containing 100ppm of bija oil, 1,000ppm of aloe vera leaf juice extract and 1,000 ppm of aloe vera leaf extract)2. A texture that absorbs into the skin freshly and moistly

    3. A sleeping pack that softly absorbs into the skin

How to use

Apply the desired amount and gently spread onto the face at the cream step. Leave on overnight and wash it off next morning.

Ingredients:

WATER, GLYCERIN, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, METHYLPROPANEDIOL, ALGAE EXTRACT, ECLIPTA PROSTRATA LEAF EXTRACT, ULMUS DAVIDIANA ROOT EXTRACT, AMARANTHUS CAUDATUS SEED EXTRACT, ARCTIUM LAPPA ROOT EXTRACT, LINUM USITATISSIMUM (LINSEED) SEED EXTRACT, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, HIBISCUS ESCULENTUS FRUIT EXTRACT, CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, ORCHID EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, TROMETHAMINE, C12-14 PARETH-12, TRISODIUM EDTA, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, FRUCTOOLIGOSACCHARIDES, LECITHIN, BETA-GLUCAN, ALLANTOIN, TORREYA NUCIFERA SEED OIL, HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID, FRAGRANCE, PHENOXYETHANOL, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, CI 19140, CI 42090

My Experience:

[Picture taken after 3 usages]

As you can see, it’s actually a gel, a sleeping gel. Initially it feels a little sticky on the skin but with light massage it absorbs into the skin amazingly. I had the idea that sleeping packs are usually heavy on the skin, but this one was super light and I guess that makes it a perfect choice for oily skin beauties. At first I was a bit sceptical about what to expect from such a lightweight gel, but then I discovered its soothing power. I have a combination skin that doesn’t breakout except for that time of the month *touchwood.  So when I got a couple of bumps, I discovered that this sleeping pack actually helps sooth my irritated skin. I know, I just told that sleeping packs are usually used twice a week, but since it didn’t have any particular instructions like that, and because its lightweight I used it a little more frequently than twice a week and I got impressive results. Within two days of usage (at one day interval) my skin was visibly clear, calm and the oil breakout actually vanished. I guess I should be stocking it up for that time of the month.

Will I purchase it again?

Yes

Will I recommend it?

Oily Skin beauties- definitely

Combination skin beauties- You can try one out and decide for yourself if it works for you [Reminder: I myself have a combination skin]

Dry skin beauties- You are definitely not going to like it unless you breakout during that time of the month like me. If you do, then you can give it a try

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack: Seaweed Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Innisfree Seaweed Capsule Recipe pack. Now if you are not aware of the capsule recipe packs, they are tiny little packs from Innisfree that comes in two catagories- wash off masks and sleeping packs. Sometimes the capsule packs are the tinier versions of some full sized products (i.e- the Jeju Volcano capsule recipe Pack) and those works as great sample packs.

When I visited the Innisfree Store in Delhi exactly an year ago, I picked up three capsule recipe packs- a wash off one ( Jeju Volcano)and two Sleep Packs (Rice and Pomegranate)  . Back then, these capsule packs had no hard lids which made them really hard to save. While the brand says that they can be used 3 times, in reality they can be used 5-6 times. However, since I was travelling a lot back then, I couldn’t save any of them past 3 usages. The wash off mask turned hard as rock while the sleeping packs became too thick to apply thus I ended up with a lot of wasted products. So when I did another haul online, I ordered one wash off mask and one sleeping pack and I was really excited to see the revamped look of the capsule packs. They have done a pretty good job with them, putting another hard lid over the foil-like lid, adding layers of instructions (the ones that sadly differs from the official website) making them a lot easier to save and making them my best buddies while travelling. You guys know how I love packing sample and trial sized products for tours right?

Getting back to the review…

As I just mentioned, the instruction at the back differs from that of the official website.

The Official Website Says:

How to use

  1. After washing your face, spread and massage the mask evenly on your face. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water after 10-15 minutes. Massaging will relieve your facial muscles for more comfortable looks. Choose the capsule that best suits your skin.
    2. Insert the lid into the slit of the container and close it to keep it fresh for your next use.

While you can clearly see that the instruction at the back of the pack has no mentions of massaging. And I don’t think that the micro granules are going to work without the massaging, like really, the pack is meant to exfoliate.

What it is

A capsule recipe pack containing seaweed to improve your complexion
1. Heat your skin naturally with seaweed!
2. Exfoliate dead skin cells for clean skin.
3. Enriched sizzling formation provides skin solutions.
4. A massage pack containing seaweed to heat and exfoliate your skin

Ingredients:

Just dab it on! Jeju seaweed with wrinkle- smoothing properties

The regenerative properties of ocean plants, rich in minerals and nutrients from Jeju island, promote skin vitality

and enhances its natural self-defense system for a powerful anti-aging effect.

 Price:

MRP 150/- Rs

My Experience:

As you can see, the manual at the back of the product forgot to mention that the product is going to heat up while applying, so when I first applied the mask I was like ‘Oh my goodness! This pack heats up while coming in contact with my skin’! I was ecstatic. I might have freaked out as well, but having being a Korean Skincare Junkie for over 2 years, I have seen (and used a lot). I have used gel exfoliator that bubbles up on the face while coming in contact with water, I have used oil that turns into a white liquid and washes off while coming in contact with water, I have seen Korean Skincare products do miracle, so quite obviously I didn’t freak out. I felt the pack pleasantly heating up, more like warming up on my skin. But since the instruction failed to mention the massaging part, I didn’t. I used it as a regular pack, massaging only a little right before washing it off just like I do with any other wash off masks.

The initial effect was refreshing, like too refreshing. My skin felt squeaky clean and fresh. But there was no brightening effect and the product didn’t claim any.

According to the official website, it has got anti-aging properties. I am 27 with no aging signs *touchwood, so I really can’t tell how well it worked according to the claims. But even then, I like including anti-aging products in my regimen every once in a while and really planning on incorporating some for the long run since I believe in taking precaution before the damage is already done.

Final Verdict:

So far there’s not a single Innisfree Product that didn’t work on my skin. And I’m really impressed with the revamped look of the packs. You can easily save the products and carry them while travelling.

However the instructions are really misleading. Firstly because the mask has just one job – exfoliating (which it does really well since my skin got exfoliated even when I used it before reading the right instructions), and without proper massaging, the pack is quite useless. Secondly, over exfoliation is really bad for the skin, it can cause more melanin secretion resulting in a darker skin and can even damage the skin. So a person unaware that it is actually an exfoliation pack can use it a day after using another exfoliator, which actually happened to, I used it a day after using my Goodal Phytowash exfoliator and the dark skin lasted for a few days. So misleading instructions can really cause a lot of trouble, and I suppose it happened right here in India (I apologize if am wrong).

However, with proper instructions, this pack can make a hell one of an exfoliator and now that you have read the right instructions, I think you really should go for this one. The micro-fiber beads are excellent for exfoliation and I don’t think they are capable of doing any damage that over exfoliation and bigger beads can do and I really liked the heating up experience. Plus, the pack smells yummy.

Pros:

  • Does what it claims
  • Pocket Friendly
  • The kind of product that I will pack while travelling
  • Can be used 5-6 times
  • Smells pleasant
  • Didn’t break me out

Cons:

I don’t think that Innisfree is at the fault for the misleading instruction. But overall it really is a con.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Lime Review

Hello everybody, hope you guys are doing fine. Today I’m going to review the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Lime because Innisfree launched in Nykaa last month and I just cannot stop myself.

I guess everybody is aware of the skincare benefits of lemons and limes. They brighten up dull skin and when it comes to removing tans, nothing can compete with them. They are called natural bleach. Unfortunately, applying them directly on the skin can be really harsh. I will say ‘don’t do it, just don’t. When it comes to DIY de-tan mask I usually use tomato juice for direct application, and when the tan seems way too stubborn I mix as little as one drop of lemon juice into my mask, but still I won’t recommend it as just because it suits my skin, doesn’t mean it will suit yours. Thankfully they are still applicable, thanks to the professionally formulated skincare products.

Ever since I came back from Andaman, my lookout for brightening products has turned into a craze even after I have successfully removed my tans. After the Vita C mask from Innisfree, this lime mask was next in the queue and I had high hopes. And why not? I mean it contains potential ingredients as Niacinamide and Grapefruit Extract, and Lime Extract and Green Tea Extract and many other ingredients that are known for brightening and skin firming and recovering dry and damaged skin. Why wouldn’t someone have high hopes on it?

However, it did disappoint me when it comes to the brightening effect. Everything else about this mask is super cool. It fits well, it’s drenched in enough serum, it takes as long as 40 minutes to dry out, it smells pleasant and most importantly my skin was visibly clear and hydrated. But since it screams brightening, it was a little disappointment comparing to the Vita C Mask Sheet. So if you are looking for a real brightening mask, you know which one to choose, and if you are purchasing it as a pack of all the sheet masks that comes from the range and applying it for the sake of sheet masking, I don’t think you will be disappointed. And for the plus effect, it did firm my skin; I guess I might have to thank the presence Niancinamide for that.

Ingredients:

Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, niacinamide, alcohol, betaine, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) fruit extract, citrus aurantifolia (lime) juice, xanthan gum, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hyaluronate, citrus unshiu peel extract, orchid extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance

Price:

Rs 100/-

Where to buy:

Nykaa

Pros:

  • Hydrates
  • Firms
  • Makes skin visibly clear and skin tone even
  • Pocket Friendly

Cons:

  • For a brightening mask, the effect is not that notable. Works like any other sheet mask (a good one).

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead 3 Step Sheet Review

When you feel like nothing’s working on your stubborn blackheads, you turn towards pore strips for help, and when that fails as well, you have blackhead removals for your rescue.

I have tried out a pore strip from the K-beauty brand Luke which didn’t work on me that well. I have grown some blackheads since the past couple of years and the Luke Strip didn’t pluck out any. I tried their pore strip twice, the first time the strip came out as white as it was before putting it on, the second time it did pluck out some of the blackheads but didn’t clear it out completely. So when Innisfree launched at Nykaa, I had to get this 3 step black head regimen because it seemed to be worth the try.

dsc_0087_1

Step 1:

It’s a cotton pad soaked in a serum that is supposed to bring out the serum and open up the pores. The cotton pad felt like it was slipping away from my nose, but it was just the sensation from the chemical being bubbly. I left it on for 20 minutes and when I removed the cotton pad, the sebum was clearly visible on the pad, it works!

dsc_0088_1

Step 2:

I washed my nose area and applied the strip while the area was still moist. At around 15 minutes, it started getting stiff, so I removed it from the edges. The amount of white heads it plucked out gave me some weird satisfaction even though I had no idea I had so much white heads. Because the strip was black I had no idea how much black heads it removed, but my nose area looked visibly clear to my utter satisfaction.

dsc_0228_1

Step 3:

A cotton mask soaked in a serum that is supposed to tighten up the pores. I left it on for 15 minutes and then patted the serum on my skin.

Overall Verdict:

I am immensely satisfied the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead 3 step program. I highly recommend this regimen to everyone, literally everyone. Even if you are someone who doesn’t have any black or whiteheads, I would still recommend trying it once, chances are that you might as well be surprised.

Innisfree Nykaa Haul

Hello everybody, just as I told you few days back that I did a small Innisfree haul from Nykaa right after the launch, I am here with the stuffs that I purchased. This haul is clearly not as big as my previous Innisfree Haul, but I got some amazing stuffs just like the last time, and it is just a matter of time that I will be doing another Innisfree haul. Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist Review

Anyone following my blog knows that I am a devoted K-beauty obsessed. So it wasn’t fair that I didn’t try out the mist concept any earlier. It’s been said that it’s very likely to see Korean women occasionally spraying their face with mists in their office, in the public transport and literally everywhere. While I really hope that women across the world starts taking care of their skin as much they are invested on their makeup, I really wanted to be a trendsetter to those who does not (majority I guess). So in an attempt to be a trendsetter and bravely spray my face with a mist overlooking wide eyes, I carried my newly purchased Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist with me to the Metro Rail. I travelled a lot that day and my skin was too dry and it desperately cried out for the mist, BUT I could not! The thought of wide eyes staring at me scared the hell out of me. So I sat there with a dehydrated skin until my stop, and then as soon as I met my boy friend out the subway I bravely took out my mist in the middle of the road and sprayed it all over my face like my own hero. I couldn’t be more proud! And that was my first mist application in public, and am really looking forward to that day when indulging in a little skincare in the public will be as normal as applying the lipstick is.

So let’s get to the benefits of a mist. Mists are the lifesavers you can use whenever your skin feels dehydrated no matter wherever you are. I use it on the go, and in the house, when my skin feels dry but am not likely to apply a moisturizer just yet as it isn’t time for either my morning or my night time routine. And the best part is that they don’t mess up my makeup. And even if your skin is not feeling dry, the refreshing feeling that they provide are worth the staring from the strangers, you can take my word for it.

My Experience with Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist:

Since this is the first Mist that I’ve ever used, my experience with mists is basically my experience with Innisfree Green Tea Mineral Mist. I love how it refreshes my skin, and provides it with hydration without ruining my makeup. I’ve got the 50ml can which is pretty handy and the packaging looks cute. This is the only size available in Nykaa right now but there are other sizes as well.

How I use it:

Whenever my skin feels dry I place the can about 6 inches from my face and spray on forehead, cheek and chin keeping my eyes closed. I avoid patting the mist into my face and I guess not using your dirty hands is the point.

Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask – Vita C Review

Just when I thought that I need to fly down to Delhi once again to stock up on Innisfree products (I didn’t receive my last two orders from Cosmetic Love so currently I have no other source to stock up on Korean Skincare products), the huge announcement that Innisfree is finally available in Nykaa dug a big hole in my pocket. I did a huge haul once again, in three installments, and I’ll be posting the haul once I receive my third order (unless I already use up the sheet masks by that time). So the only sheet mask I have used so far is the Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask Vita C which I loved.

dsc_0878

As I’ve already told you that I’ve come back from Andaman terribly tanned and I’ve been de-tanning with my tomato and Besan DIY face pack but it’s been taking a little longer than it usually takes. The de-tanning was happening gradually and after the third DIY mask, I applied this sheet mask as it contains lemon peel oil and claims brightening.

The sheet was a little different from the “It’s Real” Squeeze Mask range. It was made out of cotton hairs and I had to pull it out from an attached film. The Mask was thin, and was soaked in a transparent serum. The fitting was almost perfect except for a few wrinkles and the mask dried in about half an hour.

The initial effect was an immense nourishment and hydration and by the next morning my skin was visibly brightened and clear as if I wasn’t tanned like a charcoal just a couple of days back.

Now I would also like to mention that I used the mask that time of the month when I suffer a little break out. When I used this sheet mask, I had one acne, but next morning I had another. It might be just me PMSing, or it might be the grapefruit extract which I am a little sensitive to. But since I’m not sure, and since it helped me de-tan faster, I am clearly impressed. And then again, you guys might be aware of my love for brightening products, so I will definitely buy it again.

Price: Rs 150/-

What it is:

  1. This whitening mask sheet contains vitamin C derivatives and niacinamide to brighten up dull, rough skin.2. This 100% natural cotton sheet is made from soft cotton hairs around the cotton wool.

    3. It is transparent and thin and has good adherence on the skin, which allows for its good substances to be more effective delivered into the skin.

How to use it:

  1. After cleansing, use toner to refine skin texture.
    2. Take out mask from package and remove film. Evenly adhere it to entire face, avoiding eye and lip area.
    3. Remove the sheet after 10~20 minutes and gently pat to allow the remaining formula to absorb into skin.
