February Fab Bag 2017 Review

This month’s Fab bag contained something I was gonna purchase anyway – the newly launched SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick. The bag may be worth just 1,227 bucks, but there isn’t one product that didn’t impress me. So without wasting any more time let’s take a peak…

SUGAR Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick- Drop Dead Red- (Full Size- Rs.499/-)

I had the option to choose and I chose the Drop Dead Red. I am so loving this shade and dying to compare it with Scarlet O’Hara.

Matra Hollistic Lip Care- Strawberry (Full Size Rs.199)

I’ve been talking about humectants free lip products lately, and now there’s one more in my collection.

Just Herbs Livelyclean Honey Exfoliating Face Cleansing Gel (Rs.230 for 50ml):

I LOVE Just Herbs products and I just can’t wait to test and review this one.

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Full Size. Rs 299/-)

I’ve never used a dry shampoo before and I was really looking forward to try one. So guess who’s happy?

Overall, I really liked this month’s contains. If we talk about the bag itself, I think I have got a similar one from Fab Bag before, it’s quirky and fun. The overall worth of the bag is less than other months, but in case you were looking forward to get your hands on the new launch from SUGAR, this is the best way to get one.

Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubbling Peeling that I have been using over the last 2 years. It’s basically the 3rd Korean Skincare product I have tried. That was months before I started blogging. Had I known back then that I will be reviewing this product someday and will be sticking with the single bottle for the next two years I would not have thrown the carton away. I technically didn’t throw it away; I just didn’t carry it with me when I moved.

The fact that I have been loyal to this product for so long has already given the spoiler alert that I really like it. Yes 2 years is a long time for a bottle to last, but considering the fact that it’s an exfoliator and I use it only once a week, sometimes testing other exfoliators in between and most importantly just a tiny amount is enough to exfoliate the whole face and neck, it sounds pretty logical that I haven’t ran out of the bottle yet.

Back when I was obsessing over getting my hands on K-beauty products, I remember my then colleagues warning me that maybe it’s not for Indian skin and weather. K-beauty wasn’t even a thing in our country back then. But I went ahead anyway and took the risk of trying 3 Korean products at one go. Charlotte Cho from Sokoglam had generously sent me a package of Tonymoly Brightening Cleansing Oil, Skinfood Tea Tree Bubble Cleansing Foam and lastly Goodal Phytowash along with a Missha Essence Sample that I immediately fell in love with. My brain screamed at me to try 1 product each day since I was trying K-beauty for the first time but my heart (and my skin) just couldn’t resist. I applied the 4 products one by one, and out of all the 4 products the Phytowash was the only product I was a little sceptical about and once you look at the ingredient list you’ll understand why.

Ingredients: Water, Lauryl Glucoside, Glycerin, Yerba Mate (Ilex Paraguariensis) Leaf Extract, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyethylene, Ethyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, Ethyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide DEA, Polyacrylamide, Triethanolamine, Betaine, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Phenoxyethanol, PVP, Salicylic Acid, Laureth-7, Olive (Olea Europaea) Fruit Oil, Allantoin, Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis) Peel Oil, Lavendin (Lavandula Hybrida) Oil, Lime (Citrus Aurantifolia) Oil, Cocoa (Theobroma Cacao) Extract, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Black Currant (Ribes Nigrum) Seed Oil, Bergamot (Citrus Aurantium Bergamia) Fruit Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Orange (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis) Fruit Extract, Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis) Fruit Extract, Rose (Rosa Damascena) Flower Oil, Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Anise (Illicium Verum) Fruit/Seed Oil, Coriander (Coriandrum Sativum) Fruit Oil, Sage (Salvia Officinalis) Oil, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Matricaria (Chamomilla Recutita) Flower Extract, Camu Camu (Myrciaria Dubia) Fruit Extract, Vanilla (Vanilla Planifolia) Fruit Extract, Sandalwood (Santalum Album) Oil, Brazil Nut (Bertholletia Excelsa) Seed Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Murumuru (Astrocaryum Murumuru) Seed Butter, Cupuacu (Theobroma Grandiflorum) Seed Butter

I mean that’s a scary long list, and according to my CosDNA analysis, there’s some irritants sitting comfortably in the list. Cocamide DEA and Salicylic Acid shows ref flag. If that wasn’t enough, here’s a list of acne irritants –

Sodium Laureth Sulfate 3/5 Acne

Triethanol amine 2/5 Ance

Olive Fruit Oil 2/5 Acne

Butylene Glycol 1/5 Acne

Now let’s come to the sensitive skin part- SLS 2/ irritant.

Coming to the impressive ingredients found in the list…

Yerba Mate: Known as God’s drink, contains 50 types of minerals and vitamins. Some of its known benefits are: anti-aging, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, brightens complexion, lightens scar, improve skin texture and retains moisture.

Glycerine: We know the benefits right? They are super moisturizing and protects the skin against irritation.

Salicylic acid: The chemical exfoliator. They remove dead skin, increases cell turnover, reduces inflammation, opens up pore, breaks down sebum in pore and increases collagen production.

Product Description: An exfoliator with an exciting twist, it bubbles! This nutritious exfoliator is made into a creamy serum that transforms into a foaming peel. It contains hypoallergenic grains that can remove dead skin cells. It can cleanse and detoxify the pores without stripping the skin of its essential moisture. The exfoliator promotes healthy skin and vitality while hydrating it. It can protect the skin from environmental stress that can cause premature aging. The exfoliator is formulated with Yerba Mate, which is known as ‘God’s Drink’. It is a tea that contains polyphenol, saponin, and vitamins that can help to recharge tired and fatigued skin.

To Use: Use 1 to 2 times a week. Use the exfoliator as the last step of your evening cleansing routine. Dispense 1 to 2 pumps of the product and spread it over a dry or slightly moistened face. Wait 1 to 2 minutes until the product transforms into a light layer of foam. Gently massage the foam with fingertips for 15 to 20 seconds. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. For optimal results, use a sheet mask after the exfoliator.

My experience:

Applying this exfoliator is a delight in itself, not to mention effortless as well. You apply a thin layer of the gel exfoliator on wet skin and it bubbles up all over your face (how I wish I had a hand model for the demo pics). Since the exfoliator contains both Salicylic acid and micro beads, it works both as a chemical exfoliator and a physical exfoliator. It also doesn’t require exfoliating too much. After the gel transfers into a thick layer of bubble you just need to massage your face for 30 seconds and rinse.

As I said that I’ve been using this exfoliator for around 2 years now and thankfully the culprit ingredients did my skin no harm. My skin looks visibly smooth and clean after each time I use it. Like I repeatedly say, I sheetmask post exfoliating, and this is the usual exfoliator I use and the duo works amazing on my skin.

Will I repurchase it?

Absolutely! It’s the best exfoliater I’ve used so far. May be I won’t repurchase right after finishing this one, because as you guys know I like experimenting and I might want to try out a new one, but I will surely get it back in my stash in near future.

Will I suggest it?

May be it’s not a best idea for the sensitive skin beauties. I am cursed with a hyper-sensitive skin myself and luckily it didn’t react badly on my skin, doesn’t mean it won’t on you. I’ve explained the goods and the bads and if you think that none of the above mentioned ingredients reacts badly on your skin, or if you are not cursed with a sensitive skin at all, then there’s a high chance you are going to find your Holy Grail exfoliator when you try this one.

Pros:

  • Does everything it claims
  • Attractive packaging
  • The pump dispenses the right amount
  • Hygienic

Cons:

  • Availability
  • The long list of ingredients contains some irritants

Nykaa Paintstix – Tender Rose 05 Review And Swatch

So Nykaa launched yet another range of lipsticks and I had to get my hands on them. Unfortunately, none of the shades succeeded in winning my heart. I know there are people who are going to be super impressed with some of the quirky shades available, but I am not one of them. Since you guys might know that I’m not huge on colour cosmetics, I mean I have self control while shopping for them unlike my guiltless lust over skincare products.  With summer approaching I am really looking forward to purchase some nice nude lipsticks but when I checked the range I was a bit disappointed to discover that the nude shades from these range is too dark for my skin. I know they have created the range keeping in mind our Indian skin tone, but I thought it was still too dark for my wheatish skin. I wasn’t very impressed with the other shades as well but I had to choose one because I really wanted to. I went for the Tender Rose even though I wasn’t looking for a pink shade.

How the website says it looks

How it actually looks

My experience:

The texture of the lipstick is creamy and the pigmentation is super amazing. Just one swipe is all it takes to create fuller lips.

The lipstick comes in a cylindrical shape and glides in smoothly. I have worn it only once, not for too long (4hrs) and it behaved well until I removed it myself. However, it did transfer a little.

The colour is a glamorous pinkish mauve (almost similar to the Mad Magenta from Sugar Cosmetics) which I won’t choose to wear unless I am heading to a party. It will definitely complement ethnic wears to its extent.

The lipstick doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and just like it claims feels really soft.

Pros:

  • Creamy
  • Super pigmented
  • Long lasting
  • Pocket Friendly
  • Glides Smoothly

Cons:

  • Not a huge fan of the shades from this range
  • Transfers a little

Price:

425/- Rs

Where to buy:

Will I suggest it?

Remember the So Matte! range launched by Nykaa? I will suggest sticking with that one unless you really love any shade from this range.

Weekend Getaway

Travelling is an essential part of our life. We need to travel to refresh, relax and most importantly to stay sane. Our lives spin around tight schedules, and more often than not we crave for a getaway but not always can we afford one. An average person goes on a trip (am not counting the business ones because those aren’t close to refreshments) once or twice a year but does that nearly balance our urges? For example, I had an extravagant trip just last December but am already craving (and planning) another one. So what do we do when we cannot afford to travel as frequently as we wish to? We keep taking small weekend trips, or road trips throughout the rest of the year to stay sane.

If you think of it, how well do you know your own city or town? Have you visited all the tourist spots in your own city? Have you explored all the interesting corners of your city? You go on a tour and visit the botanical garden at the new city in between the 5 day stay but have you ever visited the botanical garden at your own place? If your answers are no, then you might as well start exploring your own city in between your long awaited extravagant tours. Trust me, it really helps to get you through the stressful weeks and waiting for the long trips becomes tolerable.

I have been living in Kolkata for the past 9 years, but I had no one to accompany me on my city explorations before I met my boyfriend 5 years ago. That however did not stop me from my explorations, but it did increase after my boyfriend started joining me in my mini adventures.

Our favourite getaway in Kolkata happens to be The Chintamoni Bird Sanctuary. I first went to the place around 8 years ago during my 2nd or 3rd year of college. I loved the place very much and vowed to bring the man in my life once I find him. I did, and I dragged him to the sanctuary 6 years later. This time there was lesser birds but somehow everything was 100 times better. It was the day after we purchased our first DSLR and he was still learning and wasn’t close to impressed by his own photography skills. A year later, he dragged me back again. This time there were no birds. However, my love for forests and trees really did compensate for that. I guess we are going back to the place every winter.

Our other favourite getaway spots happen to be Alipur Horticulture and Princep Ghat. However, the later one always seems to be crowded and I even though I dislike crowded place from the core of my heart, there’s something about this place that made me visit it twice.

And there are some spots I visited with friends or colleagues that I wish to visit again with my family and my boyfriend – Piyali Island and Gadiara.

There are getaways from Kolkata that takes a couple of days stay, like Darjeeling, Digha, Bakhhali, Mandarmani, Puri, Sundarbans, Henry’s Island. Most have been visited, some are still on the list.

Essentials for day trip – cosy clothes, comfortable shoes or sandals according to the place we are going, Wet Wipes, Cushion Compact or Spray on Sunscreens, towels and Mists.

Do you guys love taking weekend trips? Would love reading about your favourite weekend getaways from your city. <3

It’s Real Squeeze Mask-Strawberry Review

My reviews of Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask range has almost come to an end. After reviewing a lot of my amazing finds from the range I will share a disappointment today- Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Strawberry. I have reviewed almost every mask from the range (except for the bija) and I guess you guys are quite familiar with the range, so this one is going to be real quick.

What it is

Get supple and translucent skin with the strawberry It’s real squeeze mask!

1. It’s real squeeze mask – strawberry
Strawberry helps make your skin bright and supple.

2. Jeju green complex
The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchids to keep your skin healthy.

3. Triple-layered sheet
This triple-layer sheet has a long-lasting moisturizing effect so that the essence can gradually be absorbed into the skin.

How to use

  1. After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture.
    2. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas.
    3. Remove the mask after 10-20 minutes and gently pat your face to allow the remaining formula to absorb into your skin.

Price:  100Rs

Where to buy?

Nykaa

My Experience:

As usual I used the sheet mask post exfoliating and kept it on for about 30 minutes. The sheet was soaked in a LOT of essence and the fitting was just like any other mask from the range-almost perfect. Upon removing the mask my skin was excessively moisturized. The essence on my face took a lot of time to absorb unlike any other sheet mask. My skin was immensely hydrated and moisturized throughout the following days. It has to be the best moisturizing mask from the range. However, having a combination skin, moisturization is not one of my concerns and I was a bit disappointed as it did not do anything besides moisturizing. It claims brightening but I did not notice any. So overall, it can be an amazing mask for dry skin beauties but for combination and oily skin beauties might not be as impressed.

Pros:

  • Moisturizes
  • Pocket Friendly

Cons:

  • Does not brighten.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask – Pomegranate Review

Hey guys, I haven’t reviewed any K-beauty products for a while and I’m here to compensate for that. Today I’ll be reviewing the Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask Pomegranate. Now even though my first concern while sheet masking is brightness, I am well aware that it’s about time I start using anti-aging products as well. To be very honest, I haven’t incorporated any anti-aging products in my regimen permanently but from time to time I indulge in firming treatments- like sheet masks and facials and stuff. Pomegranate is known for its skin firming benefits and thus it had its due share in my regimen.

Price:

MRP 100rs

Where to buy:

Nykaa

My Experience:

Just like any other sheet mask, I used it after exfoliating my skin and kept it on for about 30 minutes. The fitting was a little terrible than the other sheet masks from the same range which is weird. The mask was still wet while I took it off and my face was immensely hydrated and supple. There was no brightening effect and the product did not claim any. The following morning my skin was firm and nourished and behaved well for the following days.

Will I purchase it again?

Given to the fact that I haven’t started any thorough anti-aging regimen yet, I might as well take help from this mask from time to time.

Will I recommend it?

To anyone who is 25+

Pros:

  • Does what it claims
  • Travel friendly
  • Pocket Friendly

Cons:

  • No brightening effect

Astaberry Pearl Facial kit Review

Hello everybody, today I am going to review the Astaberry Pearl Skin Tightning Facial kit. Astaberry has got a wide range of facial kit collection and I have already reviewed the Oxy Facial Kit which I loved dearly. The Pearl Facial kit, just like the oxy one comes in a rectangular box with a freebie Papaya Face Wash. The whole thing will last you 4-5 facials and I think for Rs.225/- it’s a great deal.

Description: This kit contains precious pearls along with Soy Protein Extract. Research has revealed that pearls contain a combination of natural substances that help to improve rejuvenation of the skin cells. This treatment is ideal to provide hydration to the skin and make it look firm, soft, smooth & young.

Ingredients:

Key Elements: Pearl Powder, Soy Protein Extract

 Pearl Powder

Rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids.Anti-aging properties.

 Soy Protein Extract

Rich in essential amino acids. Antioxidants & anti-inflammatory agents. Helps in repair, restore & nourishment.

 Skincare Benefits:

Let your skin experience the goodness of Pearl powder with this Pearl Facial Kit from Astaberry.

Improves Skin Moisturization

The rich formulation of wine in this facial kit adds the desired amount of moisture and makes your skin soft and supple.

Replenish Depleted Moisture

This facial depletes the lost moisture of your skin and nourishes it in the most unique way.

Everlasting Glow and Fairness

This facial allows to pamper your skin providing a soothing effect and leaves your skin more beautiful than before. You can get that instant glow and fair skin with this facial kit.

 How I use it:

Gel Cleanser: The cleanser is a shimmery gel and doesn’t foam up. I end up using so much of the gel every time that I worry that I will run out of it while the other contains will be good to go for a couple of more usages. I massage the gel for 2 minutes and wash it off with cold water (even though the instruction asks for wiping with a piece of cloth)

Scrub: The scrub comes with a white creamy textures and tiny granules. Now you guys are aware of my love for scrubs and exfoliators that comes with tiny granules because big granules can permanently damage the skin. I massage the scrub on my entire face and neck for 2-3 minutes and wash it off.

Massage Cream: I let my skin cool down for a couple of minutes and massage my face with the massage cream using my finger tips in a circular motion for around 10 minutes. The massage cream is white and thick in texture and a coin size amount is required to massage the entire face and neck.

Pack: After whipping away the excess cream I apply a thick layer of the pack on my face and neck and wash it off with cold water after 10 minutes.

My experience:

The facial kit certainly does not provide the super brightening and lightening effect I enjoyed with the Oxy Facial Kit. However, my skin feels noticeably firm and tight after using this facial kit. That’s right, the Box mentions anti-aging benefits over and over again and that part of the claim proved to be true. Even though the ‘glow’ wasn’t as noticeable as the Oxy Facial kit, I would still recommend this facial kit to anyone who is 25+.

Where to buy:

 Official Site, Flipkart, Amazon

 Pros:

  • Value for money
  • Does what it claims
  • Comes with a free face wash
  • All the contains comes in tubes, making them super hygenic

Cons:

  • Loaded with parabens

BIBA Kurtas Collection Review

The season of vibrant colours and floral prints is here and Biba has brought to us a wide range of Kurta collection perfect for Contemporary Indian Women. Biba has been leading the Indo Ethnic market for some time now and their super comfy clothes has never failed to impress their customers. Speaking of comfort, is there really any comfier yet elegant cloth than a kurta? While Kurtis are shorter in length and tighter in fittings, Kurtas are usually below knee length and more than often comes with longer sleeves. Which makes them not only perfect spring wears but also amazing summer wears. The light, airy and vibrant apparel that adds to the benefit of protection against sunburn? Yes please.

I have been introduced to Biba by my sister who is more into Indo-Western outfits a few years back and I don’t remember heading to any other ethnic destination ever again. I hope it works like that. Even though I am more into western outfits, I got instantly hooked with the super sophisticated Biba Kurtas and Kurtis after I first tried them out according to my sister’s recommendation. There are varieties of designs to choose from. Whether you are an indo-western cloth lover or a traditional outfit lover, there’s something for everybody. The materials used are usually cotton and sometimes crepe, silk or wool. My sister and I are cotton obsessed people and I guess that’s what made Biba the one stop destination for all our ethnic needs.

When you go through the collection, you will notice varieties of neckline designs and prints that are inspired by the cultures from different parts of the country. The sleeves of the Kurtas are usually full or three-quarter and sometimes short. What makes the Kurtas even better is that they are perfect for everyday office wear as well as for festive wears. You can create more than one look with just one piece of kurta by pairing them with different bottoms and accessories.

How to Style A Kurta:

For Regular/Office wear, I would pair a (usually a simple and low maintenance, may be a pastel or light shade one) Kurta with a cotton leggings, sandals and tiny studded earrings.

For Festive Wear, I would pair them (the bright flurry ones) with palazzo pants or longs skirts and sandals,  ballet flats or strappy heels.

The price range of Biba Kurtas varies from as low as Rs 350 to Rs 2,879 (on discount) making them affordable to fashionistas  in budget as well as to high maintenance fashionistas.

You can purchase Women Kurtas Online  or you can head to the stores. Even Pantaloons and Shoppers Stop offers a wide range of Biba collection to choose from.

The Benefits of Drinking Matcha

What is Matcha?

Matcha is basically powdered green tea used in Japan’s Formal Tea Ceremony. Since it’s powdered tea that completely dissolves into the water, a single cup of Matcha is equivalent to 10 cups of green tea.

Now everybody is aware of the benefits of green tea, and the equation kindda says it all. Matcha is loaded with anti-oxidants and chlorophyll and is the king of super foods and the best and safest way to detox. Ever wonder why the Japanese people have such amazing skin (apart from the added points to the genes and skincare of course)?

Matcha is also rich in amino acid that relaxes the body and helps in concentration.

Why Matcha?

Apart from the amazing benefits, there are a more to the reasons of why you should choose to switch to Matcha for good. For the starter, I know a lot of people who doesn’t like the taste of green tea (I do) and drinks it like it’s a medicine. Well the good news is, Matcha tastes better (surprisingly). And even if you don’t like drinking it in the traditional way, then there’s a lot of other ways to consume it.

Are you a coffee addict and trying to cut it down? Congrats, you can now switch to Matcha Latte.

Do you love cakes but trying to cut down on sugar? Well you can add a spoonful of Matcha into your cupcakes and opt for a little less sugar and be healthy and fit eating cupcakes. (Usually Matcha cupcakes are just baked like normal cupcakes only with the added use of the Matcha, but I just love the flavour and think that a little less sugar would do just fine).

You can basically add Matcha into anything and make a healthier version of it. How does Matcha Ice Cream Sound? And there are a lot more Matcha recipes out there, including the Japanese ones like ‘Green Tea Tiramasu’.

Where to buy?

Technically, I have been looking for Matcha for over 2 years now. It isn’t that easily available in India and I was planning on asking someone visiting Japan to bring it for me. Thankfully I found this website called Chado who not only sells tea, but are tea experts. Any kind of tea, from any part of the world, you name it and they have it. No one knows teas better than they do. They have actually sent me 5 kinds of Tea Samples and I was so overjoyed to see Matcha as one of them that I am somewhat obsessed and haven’t been able to go through the other samples yet. Hopefully there will be another post with the reviews of all the tea samples I have received. Also, would you like some Matcha Recipes on the blog? Let me know if you do, I can really come up with some.

Note: Press Sample, but trust me when I say that I really have been looking for Matcha in India for over 2 years. Also, I ran out of the sample and ordering one pretty soon. So hopefully there might be series of recipes.

The Trip I Wish To Repeat: Puri, Orissa

A few years back when I visited Puri, I wasn’t aware of Raghurajpur, the Artists Village. It was only a few months later that I came to know that there’s a village within 10kms from Puri that consists of 100 houses were everyone is an artisan. They are the artisans that are keeping the ‘Pattachitra’ art alive. Sadly, I never got to go back.

Puri happens to be one of the most visited spots by us Bengalies and even though I haven’t really got the time to go back, this time to pay extra attention to Raghurajpur, I have always made sure that whenever any friends or relatives are visiting Puri, they are reserving a day to visit Raghurajpur. I don’t usually write about trips that I took before I started blogging, but given to the fact that this village should get more exposure then it usually gets, I really thought it deserved a post (maybe there will be another after I take the second trip?). I mean residing in Kolkata I really would have known about the village before taking the trip had it got the exposure it deserves. The artists from the village are not only pro at ‘Pattachitra’ but also at making stone idols, traditional masks, wooden toys and sculpture. Many artists from the village have received national awards for their exceptional works. Who would not want to visit a heritage village like that?

Apart from Raghurajpur, there are many other tourist and religious attractions that makes many Bengalies travel to Puri throughout the year. When we visited Puri it was just a couple of days after Puri was hit by a cyclone. Needless to say, that didn’t make us cancel our plan. My cousin who was visiting just a few days earlier got stuck during the cyclone and when we reached the hotel, a lot of tourists stuck during the cyclone were still checking out. We reached our hotel by early dawn and explored the beaches throughout the day. We thought that because of the recent cyclone, there would be fewer visitors, but we were wrong. During the evening we explored the local markets and purchased the famous ‘Kotki Shawl’ of Cuttack.

The following day we took a boat ride through the Chilka Lake. It was a bit of pain to stroll under the scorching heat, but we stopped at a small island had the most amazing prawn and crab we have ever tasted and that pretty much made up to it.

The next morning we went to Bhubaneswar. The road trip was AMAZING even though there were trees lying down the road here and there because of the storm and we had to make our way to Bhubaneswar. When we got there, the scene was a little terrible as the city looked like the cyclone has hit them harder than they hit Puri. We couldn’t get breakfast anywhere as all the restaurants were closed because of the cyclone and as far as I can remember we didn’t get anything to eat before lunch.

At Bhubaneswar we went to the Konark Sun Temple and various other temples and finished by a delightful stroll at the Chandrabhaga beach at the evening. The next day was spent at the famous Nandan Kanon Zoo where to took a Lion Safari and Bear Safari and all the Safaries they had. The road trip back to Puri has to be one of the best road trips I have taken so far, amidst the woods listening to the song of the sea.

The next day was the last day of our stay. Even though the Jagannath Temple happens to be the main attraction of Puri, we decided to give it a skip as we have it was just too crowded that we felt claustrophobic. We spent the evening strolling at the beaches and then we boarded our train later that night.

How to go:

From Kolkata- 8 h 36 min by train

From any other part of the country- You can book your flight with Indigo Airlines.

Even though we visited Puri right after the storm, most of the hotels were still houseful, so booking your hotel before the trip is probably the best idea. You can look for hotels in puri online for a hassle free stay.

Gift For Him: Denver Xtreme Reverence Deo Review

Gifting a deodorant to your loved one on Valentine’s Day doesn’t necessarily have to mean “Oh! You smell so bad you should try this deodorant” (something my cousin brother does to me every Rakhi -_-) but it can actually be an excellent gifting idea. No matter how sophisticated perfumes look as a gift, my boyfriend is not just a huge fan of them. The Denver Xtreme range has lately got him hooked and he is pretty much not getting out of this range anytime soon.

After the Denver Xtreme Endurance and Xtreme Balance, this time I’m here to share with you guys everything my boy friend shared with me after he started using the Xtreme Reverence.

Even though he is still hooked with the Xtreme Balance, he is almost as impressed with the Reverence. It sure has to be the most seductive fragrance so far (guess why am suggesting it for Valentine’s Day gift?). Like the other deodorants from the range, the Xtreme Reverence too comes with 2X sweat defense formula and are specially crafted with Tri Ethyl Citrate or TEC formula which helps in the inhibition of the bacterial growth and prevents body odor. We are honestly impressed by the staying power of all the deodorants from the range. When I say it actually lingers throughout the day until the next shower, trust me, it actually lingers that long.

Pros:

  • Pocket friendly
  • Doesn’t irritate the skin
  • Smells amazing
  • Excellent staying power
  • Controls sweat
  • Travel Friendly

Cons:

Nothing

Breaking The Stereotype: Personal Style

Growing up a tomboy I’ve seen way too many expressions of shock whenever I flaunted any Indian attire or a dress for special occasions or whenever I wanted too. My sudden change of taste in clothes occurred sometimes when I was 15. Still being comfortable in baggy clothes and boots but having no less the urge to look pretty in a ‘girly’ dress. I used wonder what my personal style is. Of course I feel in my skin wearing baggy tops and a pair of jeans, so maybe that’s what my personal style is? Then why do I get the strong urge to try out the cute black dress when am out shopping? Am I betraying the comfy clothes pilled in my cart?

It didn’t take me long to realize that these are just stereotypes created by us human beings. Like tags- “You are a tomboy; go wear a sweat shirt, a pair of trousers and a converse” “You’re a girly girl; do justice to that frilly dress and the stilettos”.  NO! I will wear whatever I want. I can wear a stripped sweater and a pair of boots today and I can shock you by wearing a little black dress and high heels tomorrow. How about that?

I mean really, I’m not a fashion Nazi, I just try to do justice to the cloth that I am wearing according to my mood. So here I am compiling some of my favourite outfits that I love to flaunt ignoring the expressions of shock from people I know.

Starting with my go-to comfy outfit…

Casuals- Baggy Clothes, Cowboy Boots, Denims:

This outfit literally feels like my skin. When I see myself in the mirror wearing this outfit, I see me. I cannot express how much I love these boots and the denim shirt. Also, my favourite kind of bag happens to be sling bags, they are just too convenient.

I know they say you look fat and short in striped clothes and baggy clothes and cowboy boots and shoes without heels, but once in a while I choose to be comfortable instead of worrying how I look.

Denim Shirt- Forever 21

Striped Top- Forever 21

Jeans- AND

Boots- Picked up from a local shop while visiting Agra

Sling Bag- Marie Claire

Tank Top, Ballerina, Denim (again):

Another one of my go to outfits again flaunting the same denim shirt. While the previous outfit happens to be my perfect outfit for fall and spring, this is an alternative for the hotter days. If we are talking shoes then my second favourite happens to be ballerina. I feel like dancing and prancing while wearing them.

Denim Shirt- Forever 21

Tank Tee- Picked up during a shopping marathon and I forgot the brand

Jeggings- Haute Curry

Ballerina- Bata India

That one time I tried paring ear rings with this outfit… (I’m not a jewelry person, just trying to experiment a little)

Earrings- Secret Stories (Greece)

A winter’s day:

A casual outfit I would wear on a wintry day. A striped or a studded sweater paired with a jeans and boots.

Sweater- STOP

Jeans- Levi’s

Boots- The one I picked up from Agra

Another winter’s day:

Something I would choose to wear on a wintry day when I’m in the mood for a little dress up. I’m in absolutely love with studded outfits, I feel like they bring out the sassy side in me. I’m not a fan of platform wedges but this one was picked up by my mom and I thought oh well! I got tired of wearing boots and converse throughout the winter, let’s get some change (and I was perfectly aware that the wedges weren’t complementing my outfit at all).

Pearl Studded Top- GAS Jeans

Studded Top- Haute Curry

Jeggings- Haute Curry

Wedges- Inc.5

A lazy summer’s day:

A random outfit I would pick up for a stroll in the park.

Top- Elliza Donatein

Jeggings- Haute Curry

Bag- Louis Vuitton

The Girly-Girl:

This is not a look you’ll see me in everyday, but only when I really want to doll up.

Dress- From a local store

Envelope Sling- A gift from my once flatmate

Shoes: Khadims

The Causal Girl:

The type of dress I would wear when I am going for a girly yet ‘not-so-fancy’ look.

Dress-Zink London

Ballerina- Bata India

Clothes I would wear while travelling:

Unless am travelling to a hill station I usually pack some shorts, a lot of tops, a couple of T-shirt dresses, a casual dress, a couple of ballerinas, apart from the clothes that I leave my house wearing (usually a pair of boots and a full-length jeans, a top/tank tee and a shirt ). I don’t worry about the bags because while on a trip I carry my bulky camera bag with me literally everywhere.

T-Shirt Dress-  Candie’s

Top- Honey, Levi’s

Shorts- Jealous 21

And lastly…

The Bong Diva:

Like the saying goes, ‘we bengalies do not inherit our parent’s money; we inherit our mother’s Sarees’. Ever since I started wearing sarees I’ve usually worn the traditional ones chosen by my mom paired with gold ornaments. That one time I created the contemporary bong look wearing a contemporary Bengali saree paired by wooden and clay ornaments that has been trending in Bengal for a couple of years now. Again I had the shocked looked at people’s faces and I was just too impressed by myself for successfully creating a look that is completely influenced by me.

Saree- Triveni Ethnics

Jewelry– Local Shops

So which one of the looks did you guys like the most? As for me, I really don’t have any favourites since all of the looks are parts of me.

Oshea Cocoa Honey Moisturising Lotion Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review the Oshea Herbals Cocoa Honey Moisturizing Lotion that I have been using for the past couple of weeks. Now I usually did not have any good experience with face lotions in the past, even the Korean ones gave me pimples. So I was a little sceptical about this lotion but went ahead considering that I have never been disappointed with any Oshea Products (neither with the brands whose lotions broke me out).

What Oshea Cocoa Honey Moisturising Lotion claims?
Cocoa Honey Moisturizing Lotion for the face with 2X moisturizing level to ensure moisture during harsh winter.

Added with Cocoa Butter and Honey as an active ingredient, this face moisturizer intends skin moisture retention and elasticity. Licorice and Aloevera extracts in the lotion promote fairer and glowing skin.

Moreover, it works as a protective lotion and maintains the PH balance of the skin. It is nongreasy moisturizing lotion with quick penetration formula that provides soft, silky and smooth skin.

Price and quantity

Rs.225 for 120 ml

Buy it here:  www.osheaherbals.com

Shelf life: 3 years from manufacturing

My Experience:

Looking for the perfect day cream is a mission I have taken up some times ago. Some is too greasy, some doesn’t hydrate enough. My initial impression upon my first usage of this Cocoa Honey Lotion was terrific. I thought that this could have been my Holy Grail day cream if it contained a little SPF. I do wear sun block separately but when I go out I layer the SPF like – Day Cream with SPF- Sun Block – Compact Powder with SPF to ensure extra sun protection. The moisturizer is too mild for night time usages but perfect for the day time since it doesn’t make the skin feel greasy and feels light on the skin. So of course an added usage of Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide would have been perfect.

The texture is neither too runny nor too thick and absorbs into the skin pretty easily. On my combination skin 2 to 3 pumps are enough to moisturize my face and my neck. Dry Skin beauties might not be very satisfied with this mild moisturizer but it’s really perfect for combination skin (and oily skin may be?). Over the past couple of weeks I’ve grown only one acne but it took its first peak the evening after I took a 9 hours of road trip, so I’m blaming the travel for the acne instead of this little baby.

The aroma is pretty good too, smells mildly of cocoa which I love. Apart from the amazing hydration and moisturization it provides, there arenot much noticeable changes in my skin tone. Because it contains liquorice I was expecting a little brightened skin tone but I’ve been disappointed regarding that so far.

Will I purchase it again?

I don’t know. The bottles are going to last me long considering the amount am using once a day. And then you guys know I how love experimenting and trying out new products so I might not repurchase. Had it contained a little SPF I would have

Will I recommend it?

Yes.

Pros:

  • Travel friendly
  • Pocket friendly
  • Smells nice
  • Didn’t break me out
  • Hygienic pump
  • Non greasy
  • Hydrates and moisturizes

Cons:

  • Contains parabens
  • Doesn’t contain SPF

From The Heart: Depression

If you are a regular reader of my blog, chances are that you might have noticed that I haven’t been posting as frequently as I used to, neither have I been active on my social media lately. The reason is that I have been going through a phase that I thought I was over with. Something that I don’t talk about much, something that’s not usually talked about much. In the society we live in, depression is often confused with being sad, it’s not seen as a big deal, or any illness. What we don’t realize is that depression is not just being sad, it’s way more of a bigger deal, a sort of illness that can not only challenge your well being, but overall sucks out any motivation that you have. You hopelessly open your eyes in the morning knowing that today is not the day your depression will leave you behind. Like you feel that life should apologise for being an assh*le to you.
The reason why am writing this very personal post today is because I doubt the day that my depression will leave me behind is long to come and since I feel too connected with my readers that I thought that I owe you guys an explanation of why I haven’t been updating my blog or social media lately, and why I rarely respond to e-mails and inboxes. Because when I went on a trip to Andaman right before the storm that stranded thousands of tourists, trust me when I say that my readers were more concerned about my safe return than my friends were.
I don’t know when I actually started suffering from depression or that I realized that I suffer from depression rather than just sadness. During my teenage days I found myself in a situation that can get anyone depressed. Not just one single situation, but a lot of situations tangled together and that lasted for like 5 years until I found a way out. When it was all over I had to see a therapist. I wasn’t diagnosed with depression, rather told by my therapist that I took the right decision (which I knew) and I moved on.
The following months, I had my ups and downs but after I met my boy friend, situations were better. With him things were so much easier and better but then I realized that even though I am in a much, much better place now, silliest things can get me way too upset and I can hold on to that terrible feeling even after the reason of my sadness gets reversed. I found so many ways out. One was to erase any memory of any person that has disappointed me, without saying a word, without explaining anything. Worse was when I started working as a Data Analyst and made the mistake of becoming friends with a colleague. It didn’t work out very well and it got so out of hand that I resigned even though I really loved the job as well as my post as a senior auditor.
When I left my job, my blog was only 4 months old. I knew too well that it was early. I should have given my blog a little more time to grow but I could not wake up another morning and get ready and walk in to that office and have another horrible day. I knew I should have looked for another job, but instead I decided to find solitude in my blog. Doing what I love every day, investing in a good camera, improving my photography skills, attending events and writing as frequently as I can, I decided to wait until the hard works finally pays off. I was happy, but there were times I would break down in sobs calling my boy friend asking if I had made the right decision, for I have given up on my corporate career too soon and I wasn’t sure if I could ever make a career out of my blog.
On the month of April, I came back to my hometown to live with my parents. Firstly because I have only given occasional weekend, Christmas and Durga Pujo visits during the last 9 years and since I would be working from home, I can afford to live at a small town now. Secondly because I’ve lived four months in Kolkata after leaving my job and after investing every penny I had on my blog I had to take financial help from my dad to pay my bills and rent. Back at my home I created a perfect atmosphere, I have the whole first floor to myself and I decorated my work place and my dresser and my bedroom with colours and cute stuffs that makes me happy. Eventually I created a balance that helped me with my depression. From filling my room with pink and cute stuffs to lighting candles and fairy lights in my work place, like I knew that one step out of the balance and I lay flat on my tear flood. Because I have been cutting people off that disappoints me and because I feared further disappointments, I allowed myself only two friends that I thought would never disappoint me. Same worked with my relatives as I avoided anyone from the family tree except for my paternal aunt (my dad’s only sibling) and her family. Like I created a box that contained my family and my boy friend, my two best friends and my only extended family from my father’s side and I knew that stepping out of that box can make me vulnerable and exposed to depression that can take birth from the silliest of reasons.
Even though I’ve always hated schedules, I unconsciously created one. Waking up late, have a nice breakfast, check my e-mails and texts, click some pictures for my blog, keep a track of my social media and e-mails continuously, shower, extensive skincare routine (or self pampering session), lunch, power nap, cook or bake, occasional visits to my little nieces and nephews from my two first cousins, have a hearty supper, write, have dinner, another extensive pampering session, chat with my two best friends, play some games on my phone, talk to my boy friend on the phone, check my social medias and blog comments and go to sleep. And there were once a month visits to Kolkata, to catch up with the city life I have been missing out on and of course with my boy friend. Like I’m always aware that a slightest of change in my routine can set my mood off. May be I fear my depression more than death, maybe that’s why I rush to light candles and fairy lights and run to get my phone to talk to someone from that box to lift my mood when I get a slightest hint of feeling low. I thought I created the perfect balance, that I figured out a way to fight my depression, that I have people in my life that I can find solitude in. Little did I realise that the people inside the box can walk out of it. They have every right to, don’t they? And it might sound like I’m too selfish and am grieving that the ‘perfect balance’ is ruined, but to me it’s way bigger than that. It’s nine years of carefully selecting people that are close to your heart and suddenly they decide to walk out. And when the list of close people is that small, chances are that losing a friend can hurt as bad as a break up and the only person you have to console yourself is you.
It’s been over 2 months now that I have been convincing myself that at the end of the day I still have a best friend in my boy friend and that I have a career that I love deeply and passionately. For the first couple of weeks, my blog was what kept me sane. Soon the scene turned into literally dragging myself into opening my laptop, finding no words to write, start crying and then shut the laptop off. Another series of unmotivated mornings when I get out of the bed knowing nothing I’ll do today will make my situation better. No picture I can click that will make me happy, no article I write can reverse the situation. And even if it does, even if the situation reverses I really wonder if it can make me happy again because deep within I feel like my depression was looking for another excuse to come back, and it just did.
One of my best ways to fight depression was to look for a blessing in disguise whenever something bad happened to me. May be that’s why this time it hit me the hardest, because you cannot possibly find any blessing out of losing a very close person who walked out not out of choice but out of compulsion. May be it’s time I take a peak out of the box myself, be vulnerable and learn how to work that out. May be if I leave my bedroom and go out more, the lump in my throat might decide to leave me after a certain point. May be there’s a way, that I might be able to create a new clockwork routine that will help me recover, I’m still hopelessly looking forward to that day but someday I’ll work that out.

P.S: If you are someone who suffers from depression or anxiety or stress, there’s someone who’ll listen to you and help you get through. If you know someone who’s going through the same situation, I hope you become compassionate towards them, because trust me, it really helps.

Top Six Pink Lip Shades

With Valentine’s Day approaching I thought it will be only appropriate to share my top 6 Favourite Pink Lipsticks. I have earlier shared my favourite reds and favourite fall shades and now it’s about time I share my favourite pinks as well. I’ve already reviewed most of them, so here I’ll be jotting them down together all in one place, from drug store brands to hi-end brands, from nude pinks to the bold ones.

So without wasting any more of our precious times, let’s get to the shades.

  • MAC All Fired Up: MRP 1450 Rs

It’s a pretty Fuschia Pink that lasts really long. I have reviewed it already which you can read here: Mac All Fired Up Lipstick Review and Swatch

  • Sugar Cosmetics It’s A Pout Time Mad Magenda: MRP 599rs

A glamorous pink that I LOVE wearing with ethnics. It sure looks good with western outfits as well, but I prefer it even more with ethnics.

Review:Sugar Cosmetics It’s A-Pout Time Lipstick Review: Mad Magenta

  • Be A Bombshell Lip Stain Riot: MRP 750rs

Even though I love lip stains, this one’s not one of my own preferences. It’s feels like a sketch pen while applying and it’s a pain applying it. However, since the shade’s too pretty and the staying power is absolutely mind blowing (like any other lips stains) I included it in my favourites since I wear it when I need something that will last a whole day and survive a couple of meals.

  • Lakme 9 To 5 Roseate Motive: MRP 450 RS

Probably the only lipstick I bought thrice. It used to be my favourite during my working days. Now for a girl who loves experimenting with new shades, I guess purchasing a single shade thrice is a quite a compliment.

Where to buy: Purple, Nykaa

  • Sugar Cosmetics Lip Crayon Rose Dawson: MRP 799rs

I have been talking about this shade for quite some time now. I am literally obsessed with this shade and wearing it pretty much everywhere. My sister borrowed it once and asked me to order one for her as well. And trust me; rarely any shade compliments both of our complexions.

Review: Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Rose Dawson Review, Swatch

  • Sugar Cosmetics Peachy Little Liars: MRP 599 rs

Being a huge Pretty Little Liars fan, I fell for the name, and then I fell for the shade. It’s a pretty nude with a pink undertone. I am going to wear it all summer.

So that’s all of my pink favourites. If you ask me which one’s am going to wear this valentine’s day I might have to say that I’ll have to choose one between the MAC and Rose Dawson, that is if I make any plans at. Do you guys have any plans? Would love to read yours 🙂

January 2017 Income Report

So today is the first day of the second month of 2017 and it’s about time I start with some of my New Year Resolutions. Is it weird that all of my 2017 New Year resolutions are actually related to this beloved blog of mine? Part of the resolutions were to write more offbeat posts on my blog, posts that are heart to heart, posts with some insights and most importantly to update my blogger income report. Now Blogger Income Report is something that’s usually updated by really successful bloggers that have been writing for such long time. The reason  I decided to start doing it so soon is because I wanted to keep an account of a budding blogger whose community is still growing, to document the gradual increase of the traffic and the income. Because every successful blogger had days when they just invested and invested before they actually started earning from their blog. And as much as it’s encouraging that they update their huge amount of income after they become way too successful, I thought I should start doing it long before I reach that stage (I really hope I do) to account the progress I am making.  I know blogging is about passion and you should do it for the love of it, but we all need to pay bills and trust me, lucky are those who don’t have to rely on a full-time job for it.

Truth is, up until the last month of 2016 I used to invest way more on my blog than I actually earn from it. December was just the horrible, I purchased my second DSLR and I spent too much on hauls and new launches. But because my goal was to encourage and not discourage other bloggers, I limited my investments and one of my major resolutions was to invest less than what I earn from the blog.

Before I start with my report let’s clarify some of the things. Like hosting, I pay it yearly and I will include it the month I do the payment. Similarly, there are tie ups and affiliates that I get paid late, sometimes months late. So I’ll be including the payment the month I receive it. Like I will actually account the transactions. Secondly, I will include the price of the products that I have purchased solely for the purpose of reviewing, any product that I repeat purchased for my personal use won’t be included.

Income:

  • Tie Ups- 1000rs
  • Sponsored Posts- 2000rs
  • Affiliate Links-500rs

Total Income- 3500rs

Investments:

  • Products-400rs
  • Beauty Bag Subrsciption-599rs
  • Facebook Advert- 100rs

Total Investments- 1099rs

I know the account kind of ended before it even started, but just like I said I wanted to document my progress. If I try to be honest, I might admit that I usually spend a LOT on products and it took me a way lot of convincing myself to keep my investments low because I didn’t want to start my reports bankrupt lol.

P.S: I will improve my presentation with passing months, I promise.

Mac All Fired Up Lipstick Review and Swatch

Any reader of my blog would know that I’m not too much into colour cosmetics as I focus more on skincare. I am a minimal make up type of person, who would rather go with a heavy coating of sunscreen followed by an eye liner, sometimes kohl and a mascara and a lipstick. I am also that type of the person who lets her other lipsticks sit and expire when she finds a favourite. And it’s safe to say that I’m not much of a MAC hoarder but I did do a little happy dance when my best friend got me the MAC All Fired Up for my birthday last September. I mean that’s what best friends are for right? To get you something perfect that you didn’t know you needed.

Getting back to the review and the swatches…

Product Description: Inspired by Ruby Woo’s overwhelming popularity and one-of-a-kind texture, M•A•C introduces new bold shades in its Retro Matte finish. Eye-catching colours like Dangerous and All Fired Up create a look that’s fiercely feminine. M•A•C also premieres Pro Longwear Lip Pencils in a vibrant colour palette, giving this long-lasting and transfer-proof lip pencil an exhilarating makeover.

Price : Rs 1450

My Experience:

The shade is a bright Fuchsia which will probably compliment all types of skin tone. The finish is Retro Matte and if not worn on moisturized lips, it might feel dry on the lips. However, I always start my makeup with applying a lip butter. I start with a clean canvas, prep and prime, apply a lip butter and then go on applying my cushion compact or my foundation, followed by my eye makeup and lastly I do my lips. That way my lipstick glides smoothly and so did the All Fired Up.

Multiple Swipe Wth Flash

Single Swipe, sunlight

Since I am into minimal makeup, I prefer wearing a single coat of this lipstick as it’s amazingly pigmented and I feel like one coat is enough for me. However, anyone who likes to flaunt a brighter shade can swipe a couple of more times since the shade is buildable.  The staying power of the lipstick is real good. I haven’t worn it for more than 5-6 hours and I have been extremely happy to look into the mirror upon coming back home every time I wore it. What’s more? It doesn’t transfer AT ALL!

And lastly, it can be worn to the office as well as at a party. It’s the kind of lipstick which you would want to keep in your handbag all the time, and it will compliment both western and Indian outfit. What more can someone want from a lipstick?

Pros:

  • I love the bullet packaging (personal opinion)
  • Amazingly pigmented
  • Doesn’t bleed or transfer
  • Suits all skin tones
  • Compliments all types of outfits
  • Wonderful shade
  • Long lasting

Cons:

For some the formula can be drying. But it’s not a big deal for me and it can be fixed by wearing it on moisturized lips.

SkinYoga Coffee Body Scrub Review

Hello everybody, today I’m going to review a product that has been sitting in my stash for so long that I forgot when I received it and with which beauty box. I have earlier talked about my love for toiletries and how there’s literally no space in my left in cabinet for presumably an infinite amount of time. That’s probably why the Skinyoga Coffee Body Scrub has been sealed in my ownership for so long. I mean literally it has been sitting idle for so long that the Golden Pouch has even started losing its colour. That’s one reason I opened it up before I ran out of the other body scrubs I have been using.

Product Claims:

De-tans and Reduces Cellulites.

The caffeine enhances fat metabolism and removes liquid and fat from your skin, ultimately reducing the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. The natural oil moisturizes and nourishes your skin. This scrub also treats inflammation and protects your skin from sun damage.

My Experience:

The coffee scrub comes in an attractive golden zip lock pouch. The zip lock does a great job protecting the product from air and water. However, it gets a little inconvenient getting the product out of the pouch. Since I avoid putting my wet hands inside it, I end up spilling and wasting so much product while pouring it in my palm. So I guess the best way to use this scrub is to by transferring it to a convenient container.

Moving on the fragrance. It’s heaven. The fragrance of the coffee is even stronger than the fragrance inside any CCD outlet and am not even lying. You can literally get addicted to it if you happen to love coffee as much as I do.

And then if you can take your mind off the fragrance for a while, you might even discover that it’s probably the best body scrub you’ve ever used. Well at least it’s the best body scrub that I have ever used. The ground coffee scrub gradually keeps melting into your skin with the massaging, which means that you don’t really have to worry about over-scrubbing. While the scrub keeps melting you can also feel your skin getting softer and smoother all the while inhaling the intoxicating coffee smell. Upon washing it off the skin feels deeply moisturized and hydrated because of the presence of the coconut oil and the sesame oil. And the best part? You hop out of the shower totally refreshed!

Since there’s no instruction saying how frequently you should use the scrub, I use it once or twice a week since I don’t want to risk over scrubbing and if I want to be honest I must admit that it’s with great hesitation that I avoid the temptation of using it the rest of the days.

Because I don’t have any stretch marks and stuffs *touchwood* I cannot tell if that part of the claim is true, but it sure de-tans like a pro.

Overall, I am in love. I might repurchase it once I run out but considering the whooping amount of money it costs, I’m not sure how soon.

Pros:

  • Smell…..
  • Paraben free, preservative free, Fragrance free
  • De-tans
  • Works as an amazing scrub
  • Hydrates and moisturizes the skin (but that does not mean I skip the moisturizer)

Cons:

  • Too expensive
  • I am not a huge fan of zip lock pouches (personal opinion)

January Fab Bag 2017 Review

Hello everybody, today am going to review my January Fab Bag which I ordered late and received late. My subscription ended a month ago and since they have Sugar Cosmetics products in this month’s bag and I almost have all of their collections I thought to skip this month at first but then my sister asked me to order Scarlet O’hara and Rose Dawson for her so I took the liberty of taking a chance, and tada!!! I have a Rose Dawson and a lot of other products.

I’m not a big fan of the bag itself as I think that the pouches are a lot more useful than the purses. Nobody’s gonna use a purse that doesn’t contain a zip in the first place, at least you can use the pouch.

So what was inside the bag?

Starting with the star of the bag….

  • SUGAR Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick- Rose Dawson (Full Size.799/-)

I’ve already reviewed this one here http://beautifullyme.in/index.php/2017/01/17/sugar-cosmetics-black-with-a-bang-lash-mob-limitless-mascara-review/

  • O3+ Mattyfying Gel Cream SPF 50 (Full Size: 385)

SPF 50 always tempts me. But going through the ingredient list I found both Titaniumdioxide and Benzophenone. Which means it contains both physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen and my skin reacts terribly with chemical sunscreen. I have no idea what to do with it and even my sister sticks with her dermatologist prescribed products when it comes to her skincare products. So it’s probably going to sit in there for a while.

  • MCaffeine Neem Caffeine Face Wash (Rs.44/- for 150ml)

I got a 50 ml deluxe sized sample and am pretty curious about it.

  • The Nature’s Co. White Tea Night Cream (Rs 895/- for 50 ml)

It’s no secret that I LOVE ‘The Nature’s Co’ products. I got a 20ml sample of it and am going to save it for my next trip.

  • Wella EIMI Perfect Me Lightweight BB Lotion (Rs.900/- for 100ml)

I got a 6 ml sachet and I am not a huge fan of BB and CC creams. The ones that I’ve already got are sitting in my dresser after a couple of usages. If it’s daytime, I’ll opt for a Cushion Compact or a high coverage sunscreen and if it’s night time I’ll use a tinted moisturizer or a foundation, no place for BB and CC creams in my routine, sorry.

So that’s what I got this month. The Sugar Cosmetics product itself makes the bag more than worth it and there’s still 6 more days to order yours. http://www.fabbag.com/
